I like all the mane 6 and the rest of the cast. At the end of the day my least favorite would definitely go to Applejack. My reasoning being that she just does not feel as fleshed out as the rest of the cast and she seems to have less characterization than her sister who is only a supporting role. However, I have to say something nice now. She always works so hard and does everything to the best of her ability. In fact her desire to please her family was so great that she created an awful reunion, and was unable to see that they weren't enjoying it for the simple fact that in her mind she had done the logical thing of taking what they wanted to do and working harder at it. This is in essence her core trait, not honesty, but rather diligence. She takes everything she is doing and does 134%. At the end of the day she has her faults like all the rest, but she will keep on trucking simply because she feels the need to. The best example of this was Applebuck Season, where she was destroying her body to keep a promise to her brother. Initially I viewed her lack of willingness to accept help as a matter of pride, but looking on it in a different light I see it that if she accepted help she wouldn't be keeping her promise. She isn't a liar and that is something deeply tied to her character as seen by her element.

Overwhelming majority for the weather team. I'm quite surprised with that one, but still impressed. As far as faith in your hometown's abilities seems to be straight down the middle. As for the Fluttershy question, I personally prefer winter to spring. However, the adorableness of her talking to the groundhogs would just be amazing beyond comprehension! Overwhelming willingness to sing with or without Equestrian incentive quite shocked but pleased with that one! Let the voting continue! Got one more day to prepare! And then we have some work to do

Can someone answer these questions for me? I'm a bit to paranoid to do this sort of thing without knowing full well what I should expect and concerns I should be aware of.

So I am interested in this concept. From reading the thread it would seem that people are getting varied results. It would appear though that I am still me, just perceiving things differently. My question is how does this extend to the world around me? Is it more of a trance dreamlike state, or can I do things and interact with others while hypnotized? For example if I wanted to clean out some messy rooms in my house would using the Twilight file make me enjoy it? Also while in this state would I respond to others more akin to the chosen pony or am I still myself? Finally, is this similar to medication and other mind altering things in the fact that I should avoid operating machinery/making important decisions while hypnotized?

Lauren Faust stated in an interview while she was a show runner that the episodes are not airing in chronological order and that there were a few episodes that even crossed seasons such as Hearthswarming Eve being before Winter Wrap Up but after Fall Weather Friends. She has also stated that the actual dates are kept vague for this reason. Regarding Nightmare Night, my head canon was that it was founded by Ponyville AFTER Nightmare's attack in the first ep. This would back up the fact that Pip coming to Ponyville was experiencing this night for the first time. My biggest plothole concern comes from the amount of time Twilight has lived in Ponyville. It has been implied by the show creators that it has been about 1.5 years since she moved there. This is backed up by the 'a short while ago' line in Magical Mystery Cure. However, there are times, such as Sweet and Elite, and A Canterlot Wedding when people who SHOULD know her at least vaguely do not. If she was gone for an extended period of time or if she was not the most important pony in the land's student/gopher I could understand the lack of recognition. This confusion is backed up by things like cider season and nightmare night that she participates in with the apparent recognition as if she has done it multiple times. Another one that bothers me is the apparent lack of night weather patrol ponies. If the weather is 100% controlled by pegasi as it heavily implied by eps like Winter Wrap Up and Hurricane Fluttershy, then why don't we see any of them working at night? Heck I seem to remember that noone being up at night was part of Luna's initial rebellion as well. As weather still continues and changes during the night why does it appear that no pegasi are doing it? Finally on Winter Wrap Up, Twilight goes out early before the opening and there is no snow anywhere. She comes back out only a short while later and the level of snow and ice is almost post blizzard level. As with my previous plot hole of pegasi not appearing to work at night where did this snow come from?

I am almost positive that being an alicorn has nothing to do with immortality itself. Take Cadance for example, in the very first episode we encountered her we got to see her at least several years younger. You have to remember besides Cadance and Twilight our experiences with Alicorns are limited to the twin (figure of speech here) princesses who are more or less deities in the universe. If Magic Duel is anything to go by Alicorns are simply a higher level of Unicorn and one of there potential spells are age spells. Argument could be made that Celestia has been around for so long to wait for a pony of sufficient power and judgment to replace her, and while searching for this replacement she had to keep herself at peak physical condition due to her responsibilities. Also as phoenix has suggested prior to me Granny Smith is suggested to be in the hundreds at least. I would like to add that if you look at the pictures in Family Appreciation Day they would seem to indicate that Uncle Apple Strudel is even older than she is. I like to think that Twilight's lifespan is more or less unaffected in the great scheme of things. I asked a similar question to the writers during one of the LPU panels and basically got a 'we aren't sure' kinda answer. Regarding the lifespans of dragons we have been privy to the fact that they do in fact live quite a bit longer. I remember long before Twilicorn there were a couple of fanfics about Spike having grown old and depressed as all of his closest friends' lifespans were merely moments compared to his. It is hard for us as an average lived species to comprehend, but if a race was long lived among shorter lived races they might and likely would take a different psychological approach to attachment between the two. For that reason one could take Celestia's forgiveness of Luna as a sign of longing for companionship due to differing lifespans. Also regarding death, this has been only touched on subtly in Apple Family Reunion with the infamous pair of shooting stars stated by Sibsy to represent AJ's parents no longer being with them. Finally, magic, all logical arguments are now invalid. It is nigh impossible to apply logical statements when you have characters who can control the heavens, the earth, and at least two examples of time itself. TL;DR: I doubt Twi is going to last any longer than she would have prior to becoming a princess, and if she does one must remember we have already seen time travel in the show.

I say I would have prefered if they went with this style instead. Much more pleasing to the eye and a great deal cooler in my honest opinion as well! Also I like the idea of them actually wearing different stuff rather than all wearing skirts. Please be aware I did not create these images I saw them in a PMV a while back and felt they were humanized done right in my opinion.

I believe that there was potential in the series whether I was interested in it or not but the fact remains that the more I hear about it the less faith I have in it. I am glad it is a spinoff so if it suchs it can languish into obscurity while the superior show that spawned it continues on. That being said, who knows? If I had been told 2.5 years ago that my favorite show on television would be My Little Pony I likely would have laughed my butt off, but here we are. I do not hold any hopes for the series and I am definitely not a fan of the high school setting or the awful character designs but I reserve the ability to be pleasantly surprised. I don't believe they are truly vegetarian. Exhibit A: (Ham Sandwich) Exhibit B: (Fried Eggs) It is important to realize that while in real life ponies are herbivores the ones in the show have extensive differences from the real world. In regards to the show itself the only hint that they are solely vegetarian came from Pinkie's Over the Barrel song. In the end though the fact they eat eggs and partake of dairy ruins any attempts at calling them vegetarians. In the end though it doesn't really matter as like the technology level their diet will fluctuate to the writer's needs. Finally my last argument is 'Little Piggington' in Spike at your Service and the pig awards in Sisterhooves Social. The only logical argument to pigs getting that large (and being celebrated as such) would come down to slaughter. I seem to remember them having bacon at some point as well but I was not able to find a picture of it.

Okay Winter Wrap up is one of the few events in the series we have an exact date for and that is the day before the Spring Equinox. This year Equinox is on the 20th. This means Winter Wrap Up day is on March 19th. So first question: Which team would you be on in the real world, and why? Examples in RL Scenarios: Weather Team ~ Shovelling Snow, Animal Team ~ Shaving Wooly Critters, Plant Team ~ Planting Seeds These are just examples of real occurances similar to those seen in the show. Feel free to post others you think of! Second question: Would your local town bring in Spring in time? Third question: Should we get Fluttershy to talk to the groundhogs to make sure we are not late? Fourth and Final question: Are you going to sing while you clean up Winter? Winter is my favorite season, but I have just been amazed by the concept of Winter Wrap Up and I think that it is one of the cooler unique aspects to Equestria! Okay by now I think most of us have heard about the Spike is a dog rumor. Regardless of what this means for Spike as a character it brings to mind something else. What about the other pets? I mean all of the real pets minus possibly Gummy are pretty realistic as far as pets go in cartoons. But I am concerned that the whole Spike as a dog thing might throw a wrench into them. If they do appear do you think the creators will make the apparent mistake of making them talk like Spike or rather have Spike be an exception? Do you think they just won't appear at all? Final option is the belief that the Spike is a dog rumor is just that a well founded rumor? Thoughts?

Been wondering about this myself. I have not heard anything conclusive about the VA's of the series. That being said one must remember that a character's voice is a strong tie to that character. If this was the previous generations I don't think Hasbro would give a second thought to hiring different VA's if the current ones did not wish to work on it. However, you have to remember the shear amount of voices these VA's are working on at any given time. I mean the mane 6 alone average about 3 different shows on the Hub alone and never mind the shear amount of VA work Tara Strong does in general. I doubt that they would not be willing to work on the show, that being said their opinions on the show might be harder to come by as stating discontent might endanger their jobs after all.

Well I'm pretty sure that civil war happened during the first rise of Nightmare Moon. That being said civil war generally is caused by differences in core idealogies between neighbors, family, and friends so that might be something to think about,. For example, in the show everyone but Celestia and Fluttershy (later on) were against the idea of releasing Discord. Now if he were to start his atrocities again and say Celestia simply ignored them and only cleaned up the messes (or had the mane 6) do it, eventually the populace would get tired of it and seek a figurehead to get behind and overthrough Celestia. As Luna has attempted this before one could argue that she is a believable figurehead to get behind against Celestia (and arguably one of the few who would have enough power to stand up to her sister as well). However, beyond simple suggestions and bases it is hard to provide additional ideas without a clearer image of what you are going for. In the end though I hope my suggestions were at least some what helpful!
