I feel the same way-I enjoy talking with people who disagree with me, as long as they've thought about their position and are not just parroting something they heard. The day I stop learning is the day they can plant me.

I agree. I'll be a big ole pile of them bones before I stop learning. That's what I always tell people... my position can shift on a lot of things because of the people I meet. If I lose an argument... time to either consider the other side, or look up more information to support myself. That's the word, man.

Were you ever a member on any other discussion forums? I modded on a couple a while back. It seemed the conclusion to every 'discussion' was with the opposing party being compared to Hitler. It got so boring after a while-there was no acknowledgement of the validity of the opposite position, thus there was no chance for growth. Ironically, this place seems better than any of them.
