ooc OOC USS Luna
Jack Baker replied to Mentis Soliloquy's topic in Everfree Planning, OOC & Discussion
Here's an old RP I made a long time ago: https://mlpforums.com/topic/101005-journey-to-the-higher-plane/ And another one which was like a hotline miami RP: https://mlpforums.com/topic/125211-hotline-equestria/ Background (keep in mind I don't have much knowledge on the Star Trek world): "Audio log number 1, space date, uh... well who really gives a crap... So, listener, you might be wondering why I'm making an audio diary of my time here on the Luna... I mean, it should be obvious: in the case I-- name's Raze by the way, howdy-- meet an untimely demise here, someone, somewhere is gonna find these recordings so my legacy will live on, not lost somewhere in space... hopefully. I mean it'd be great if that's what happened; hell I might even end up in a history book 10 years later: 'First Officer Raze, only recorded member of a ship that mysteriously disappeared in hyperspace!' Or something... I don't know. Anyway, if you're still tuned in, let me start off with some backstory: I was born on a small space colony. My father was a retired Starfleet officer, and my mother, well... I never really knew her... I mean, unless visiting her tombstone every month counts as 'knowing her'. That's right: she's not with us anymore; died when I was still a baby. She was also Starfleet; her and Pop were assigned to the same ship, the USS Loyalty; he was a Lieutenant Commander, she was a Medical Officer. There was an attack and, well... he survived and she didn't. End of story. Anyway, as a kid, Pop would always tell me stories about his time with Starfleet, what it was like aboard a ginormous spaceship sailing among the stars, exploring planets and beating up bad guys, nabbing the woman he loved in the process. And let me tell you: I ate that **** up. Since then, I wanted to be like him, and I set my sights on Starfleet Academy. With my Pop's help, I managed to get in when I was old enough. It's at this point you're probably wondering: how does someone who sounds so laid back and nonchalant make it through the Academy? Well, listener, you probably shouldn't judge a book by its cover; even if I am laid back and somewhat lazy I managed to rank number four of my graduating class. When I want something I put 110% into getting it, just the way me and my family are. I then served aboard another ship before this for a year, the USS Cadence, where I slowly worked my way up the ladder to First Officer. Then I realized the captain was an annoying middle-aged coot who yells too much when things don't go his way, so I opted for a transfer. And now, here I am, aboard the USS Luna. So... yeah. That's my backstory. Not sure what else to say after that, really... didn't really think about it. I guess, uh... I'll try and update this regularly, just gotta remember to, uh... do... it. Yeah... this is awkward. Alright, I'm ending it; this is First Officer Raze of the USS Luna yada yada yada-- screw it, end recording!" End backstory. -

Alright I'll enter this with Raze, link to his backstory is in my sig. As for alterations... I believe I mentioned he was on a journey around the globe to master other forms of combat, that'll be left out. Also removing his job as a mercenary. @@Mentis Soliloquy, -

@J.R. Well first, he has his Persona, Throne. I was going to write in that he has the ability to cast fire magic, and one greater healing spell that can be used once every five hours. The second power... you might wanna sit down and really analyze this one. The second power he has would come from one of his assassination missions, where he and his mentor were hired by the Trottingham College of Mages to kill an insane rogue mage rumored to be extracting dark magic from mysterious black crystals found near the edge of the Crystal Empire, hidden remnants of King Sombra's former reign. The mage captured him and killed his mentor, with the mage telling Crow about how he would use this magic to wreak havoc on the world once extracted. However, it backfires, and the magic ends up going to Crow (which I will explain how and why in greater detail in his bio). The magic is weak, however, and transforms itself into lesser powers befitting an assassin, which I call his Dark Magic Abilities (incoming blatant Dishonored powers): First, the ability to blink short distances (about 12 ft. horizontally and vertically) Second, the ability to possess the bodies of small creatures (I.e. bugs and rats) for 15 seconds. Finally, the ability to create a blast of wind that can knock a normal sized pony off of his/her feet, and push them back with great speeds (great for making an assassination look like an act of God!). Can also be used to deflect small projectiles, like bullets whether physical or magical. Magic spells that are beams or continuous streams of magic will not be affected. Also, since he isn't a unicorn, Crow only has whatever amount of dark magic energy he absorbed on that day. It's self replenishing, but if he uses it all up in one go, it will take 10 minutes to build up again before he can use it again. Also, this magic has linked itself to the summoning of his Persona, so summoning Throne costs a fair bit of dark energy (if he wants to summon Throne without dark energy, it will have to be at the cost of some of his own physical life force). However, his dark magic energy works differently depending if he uses his own Dark Magic Powers or summons his Persona. When it comes to abilities, the energy is separated into two parts: Usable Energy and Maximum Energy. The amount of Maximum Energy limits how much Usable Energy Crow has, and Usable Energy recharges up to whatever amount of Maximum Energy is left. How much left he has of each depends on how he uses one of the three Dark Magic powers he has: His blink, if used once, with deplete Usable, but not Maximum, waiting for three seconds will recharge it, using again immediately afterwards will take a chunk of both. His possession ability, when used once, will always take a large chunk of Usable Energy, but a varying amount of Maximum Energy. The amount gets large the more times he uses it in one go. His wind blast ability has the same energy absorption rate as possession, but with more lenient amounts. Also, in terms of Dark Magic Powers: if Usable Energy reaches zero, but Maximum does not, Crow has not run out of magic energy. Now, for the amount of times Crow can use his abilities (and this is just a general idea): Crow can blink 10 times consecutively before his energy is fully depleted. He can use his possession ability 5 times if he waits between casts, and 3 times if constantly switches bodies, before recharging. He can wind blast 6 times if he waits between casts and 4 times if he constantly blows wind, before recharging. Oh, and when it comes to Persona summoning, in terms of Usable and Maximum Energy, they decrease at the same rate. He can summon his Persona 3 times before recharging. And that's everything. This is still very much a work in progress, so I apologize if some things seem unclear or OP (tbh I think the whole Dark Magic Powers are a bit OP myself, but I'll leave that decision up to the DMs and change it, completely rework it or remove it even, if necessary. I just wanted to include everything I had envisioned for this character to be put up for evaluation). -

Hey, so I had been thinking of adding a new character in. He's another Persona user, but more experienced than Raze, and I wanted him to be kind of like a mentor to Raze so he would learn how to control his new power. https://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/crow-talon-r9776 Basically, he's an assassin. It's not finished yet, it might take a while for me to flesh out the whole backstory and such, but I wanted to know if what I have so far is good, or if there's anything I should change. -
@@Fractured,@@Hazard Time, @, Raze blinked twice, not sure what to make of this... other newcomer. She was a kid, who had this sort of carefree aura around her, plopping herself on the other stranger's back. Great, another reason for the minotaur to stay here and call me a foal napper, "protecting" her... I've had enough of kids for one day... he thought. Did she not know what was going on? That there was a tense conflict that could erupt at any second? Obviously not. He sighed, then turned his attention to the filly. "Kid, get out of here," he said. "We're a bit busy at the moment."
-
"Hey-ey-ey!" Shut the fuck up for one second, why don't you," Raze said to the Minotaur, not looking at him. "You can spout that protectorate bullcrap once we're done here, got it top-heavy?" He took a deep breath and focused his attention back to the mare in front of him. "As I was saying... how do you know her?" @Hazard Time

So... is this thing dead again, or...? -
@Hazard Time Raze's gaze was now turned towards the newcomer. Another one... he thought. What could she want with the baroness? And more importantly... how did she know her name? "Eh?" he said. "Just why exactly would that be important to you?" he asked her, suspicious of her intentions.

@J.R. Hey if there's anything I've been doing wrong, just tell me. -
@Hazard Time Raze had barely any time to react before the spikes shot out of him. He jumped back, the spikes just nearly impaling him. He looked back to see where Rosalia was... nothing. Rosalia was gone. For a frail filly, boy could she run. He grit his teeth once more, his frustrations building up. He failed. Again. Now he was back at square one, and defeating the demon that baroness Carnelian harbored within her was now even more difficult to accomplish. He turned his attention towards the Minotaur. "You... you FOOL!!!" he shouted, loud enough for anyone nearby to hear. "You've doomed us all by letting her get away! Now that damn baroness Carnelian and her demon will--" He paused for a brief moment. He couldn't really say that, now could he? The only "demon" that anyone saw around here was him, not Carnelian. Who would believe him right now? Nobody. He stopped talking, glaring at the Minotaur and seeing what would happen next.
-
@J.R. @Unicorncob Thanatos deflected the kid's attack with a swing of his sword, and Raze saw that the other kid had grabbed the one going for Rosalia, then proceeded to grab Rosalia herself. Remaining silent, he turned around to stop them and put himself in front of Rosalia... Only to realize she wasn't there. Damn! he thought, spotting her running away. He was about to take off, when he heard a voice in his head... it was Thanatos speaking to him. Thou art I... I am thou... From the sea of thy soul, I come... In the face of adversity, my lesser powers hath awakened... Then, three words popped into his head at once. Megidola. Mamudoon. Matarukaja. He was... unsure what to make of all this. What would he need these for? What did they do? How could he use them...? Speak, pony, and I shall follow, he heard Thanatos tell him. Raze then understood. Speak, command him. He didn't know what any of these things did, but he might as well try now. He turned around, facing the direction where Rosalia went, and took a deep breath. "Megidola!" he said, and Thanatos flew up and opened his metal mouth. A small purple sphere of energy began to charge up, getting bigger as time went on. He let out a ferocious roar, and he fired a fast traveling purple beam that hit the ground just ahead of Jack and Double, making a huge crater. Oh crap!!! he thought. That's what that does?! He looked up at Thanatos, who disappeared in a flash of blue light. He also felt like he couldn't summon him again for a little while. And it makes him disappear... looks like I can only use these powers once, and only when I need them... But enough about that. He sprinted towards Rosalia, intending to catch up to her. ((NOTE: These are the only special powers I will give Thanatos.))
-
@J.R. @Unicorncob As Raze surveyed the area, he couldn't see any sudden movements from the other side. It was quiet... too quiet. He glanced over to where the kids were... and saw one of them making her way over to Rosalia. Of course. They didn't want to fight him. They wanted to make him look like even more of an idiot by provoking him, run off with the girl, and probably laugh about how dumb he was while they ran off. He grit his teeth, offended. Those brats, and that old man... they didn't understand what was at stake here, and they probably never would. They didn't even get it when he explained it to them. It made him mad... and then he thought to himself... No. If they wanted the girl, they were going to have to get through him; and he would make sure that they never would. He closed his eyes, and took a deep breath... and then opened his eyes once more. His expression changed to that of one with a serious resolve, the face of a warrior with a strong sense of purpose. Then, he sent Thanatos out to stop the girl heading towards Rosalia, with the spirit flying towards her and reaching out to grab her.
-
Raze grinned devilishly back at him, but remained silent. Don't let his words get to you... It's all just a trick. he thought. "If you think that will distract me from what's going to happen, you're dead wrong," he said his face turning serious. "Enough words; either you pick your sword up and fight or let me take the filly to Agririon."

You and me both, bud. You and me both. -
@J.R. Oh, I'm going to enjoy this... he thought, returning the mocking grin. They think me to be dumb... good. He analyzed the weapons of each opponent. A broken zweihander, and a bat with a silver baseball. The Minotaur's weapon couldn't be parried with his katana; even if it was broken, the weight combined with the fact that his sword was made with a much more brittle metal than that of a zweihander's would cause the sword to snap in two if hit hard enough. However, with the sword being somewhat slow to swing, he could easily dodge it. Perhaps Thanatos might be able to parry it, perhaps being the key word to that theory. As for the bat, this was a blunt weapon that could hit hard and relatively fast. On top of that, the kid had a metal ball that he could use as a projectile. He has both close and ranged combat covered. Raze thought he might open up with using the ball, so he had to prepare for that. He might have more balls on him as well, in case that one missed. As for the bat, he could parry it easily. Now, for his opponents. The miotaur seemed to be a durable fighter, with the ability to charge at someone with brutal speed and power. Not only that, but he had the ability to manipulate the ground around him and create walls, an excellent defensive ability. He would have to keep an eye out for that. He couldn't make out any sort of obvious weaknesses (something he would expect when trying to analyze an experienced fighter), but he would figure something out. As for the kids, they seemed to be ponies who had excellent athletic ability, and know how to swing a mean bat. However, they seem overconfident of their abilities, cocky even. Maybe that wasn't the case, but it sure as hell seemed like it was. Nevertheless, Raze would keep his guard up. The stage was set, and his analysis on his opponents was, for the most part, complete. He exhaled and grinned mockingly once again. "Go on, then!" he said to all of them, assuming a low stance. "Show me what you can do." @Unicorncob ((I forget what Double's weapon is, if she has one))
-
@Unicorncob Raze laughed at her remarks. "Masochistic you say? Oh no... far from it..." He put the gun to his head and pulled the trigger, summoning Thanatos in a bright flash of blue flame, who in turn also drew his sword. "If you think that this'll be a one-sided duel, then you've got another thing coming," he said. "Beware who you insult... I'm not just some street punk."
-
Through the dizziness, Raze heard the Minotaur mock and threaten him, calling him a filly fooler. No matter how he tried to spin it, yes, he looked like one. Even if he wasn't his irrational thinking put him in this predicament. But still, that filly in the hospital gown was too much of a valued target for him. She could very well be the key to getting rid of the baroness once and for all, or at the very least cripple her to the point where they could come up with a way to get rid of her. The only thing standing in his way now was the Minotaur in front of him, and as much as he would like to oblige to his demands, he couldn't do it. Not only that, but... he hated being called a filly fooler. Mustering the energy to stand up, he tried to shake off the dizziness as much as possible. It was still there, but he had to ignore it. "You can take the two boneheads over there, I don't care what happens to them," he said to the Minotaur. "Quite frankly, I think they're imbeciles who try too hard to play hero and impress everyone with how 'cool' they are," he said. "But this one over here..." he motioned to Rosalia. "She's too important to let go... sorry, old man, but I'm gonna have to decline your offer. And let me make one thing clear..." He grabbed his katana and assumed a combat stance, with a look of rage in his eyes. "I AM NOT A FILLY FOOLER!!!" he shouted. "I tried being reasonable, even told you why I started this whole shenanigan in the first place and admitted I was wrong in doing so, and yet you still somehow manage to draw the conclusion that I'm some sort of sicko!" He grit his teeth in anger. "Listen. To the words. That are coming out. Of my mouth. You bumbling, roided up, mutant cow!!" he had to find different words to use before the Minotaur called him out on swearing in front of children as well. "I. Am not. A sicko!! And if I have to beat that fact into that thick tiny head of yours, then by Celestia I'll do it..." He picked up his summoning gun (he needed to find a better name for it) and held it in one hoof, while he unsheathed his katana with the other.
