    A new member thinks I'm a clop-defender (when I'm not) and is considering leaving because of it.

     

    Why do I get the feeling this is going to depress me for a while?

      I wouldn't feel bad if I were you. If someone want's to leave the fandom because a section of bronies like clop, and some people don't think it's the worst thing ever, then they probably didn't want to be part of the fandom all that badly anyway. They probably would have left for some other reason eventually.
