Wow....tried reading all the comments, but seems like I'd never reach the end Glad you're all enjoying the tournament. Hope to see more heartfelt support from both ends. My vote goes to Twilight. She's captivated my mind and heart more often than any other. From the start, she was friendly around others, but had trouble forming real friendships. As life in Ponyville opened her eyes to true magic, she came to cherish them more than anything else. And thanks to her friends, she found an answer that Star Swirl never could; the strength of synergy. "From all of us together. Together we're friends. With the marks of our destinies made one, there is magic without end." As she chronicles the essence of harmony, the elements respond to her growth. Alicorns always embodied harmony in a physical sense, and even maintained it through their actions, but now the concept gained far greater depth. We've seen Twilight slowly transition into her role as a princess, as she offers advice and guidance through season 4. The same amazing mare as before, but she's fully matured into even more. Every teacher begins as a student, and I'm glad to see things come full circle.

I've found myself thinking and typing really slowly for a while - even by my standards. Just posting what first comes to mind now. May not be as polished as I'd like, but sometimes it'd cost me the chance to say anything

Hahahaha! Derpy vs Vinyl was a tough call. The first and only fan-fic I've fully read developed Vinyl beautifully. Characters that remind me of strong concepts often have the edge. One of my favorite takes on Derpy is the PMV, "Great to be Different", and how I've come to see her also plays a big part. Even though Derpy has trouble with daily tasks, she pushes forward and enjoys what comes her way. To me, her cutie mark represents how she lives. Bubbles are a fleeting beauty that vanish before long, but there's always another batch that follows. It's the simple things in life that mean the most.

Oh gosh x3 "Leap of Faith" was great! Applejack's always been a favorite of mine (her attitude, design, accent...everything), and this episode represented her well. I did vote for Celestia, but gotta give AJ a shout out! She's a practical pony who knows what's important. Her direct approach makes her one of the more personable ponies around, but can manifest as a stubborn streak sometimes. That steadfast stance is a sign of sincerity though. Putting family and friends first, she does all she can to help them grow and make them happy. Turning an eye to the truth only when it could impact that happiness; however, she ultimately realizes that real happiness is built on truth. An anchor for others and a level-headed leader. She's sweet as can be, but ain't sugarcoating the facts. It's Applejack!! Honestly, it doesn't matter if this encourage votes against Celestia....it doesn't even matter who wins this tournament. It's a wonderful chance to reflect on what makes each character so special to us and what others see in them. If we come to appreciate them even more, I'd say we've all won.

Now it's hard xD The Mane 6 are top-tier, but so are most of the princesses. They all shine brightly, but going with Celestia and Cadence. Maintaining a 1000 year rule without losing her love and appreciation for daily life speaks of a soul as bright as the sun. Through the eyes of an immortal, everything can seem so different; yet Celestia continued to shine through dark times, and now shines even brighter because of it. Haven't explored Cadence's character as much, but love what I know. Many people call balanced characters a Mary-Sue, or just plain boring, because they don't have outstanding flaws, yet I'm always drawn to those who fully embody their ideals...those who really live them.
