  1. That's pretty cool! John Noble has a great voice. Though, honestly, I see him more as being someone sinister, like he is in Sleepy Hollow. He ups the creep factor to 10+ with his character in that show. I'm still partial to Patrick Stewart as Starswirl, though, because: 1. His voice would fit perfectly into that wizardly / mentor motif Starswirl has going on. 2. Patrick's been doing animation voiceovers for decades (I remember him in Plague Dogs). 3. He would absolutely do it. 4. I like to think that Starswirl and Discord know each other and, if they were on-screen at the same time, they'd almost certainly get into a Captain Picard / Q back-and-forth.
  2. Thank you to everyone who kept this thread alive! You did an awesome job commentating on the screenshots. I'm going to start up again, with Season 4. Hopefully you'll be inspired to post some more. "I'd never have done this without you, Rainbow Dash." Sometimes you shoot for a hoofshake, and get a hug instead. It's all good. The cinematography throughout this episode was awesome - which fit the plot and premise - but just check out the lighting in this shot. These are the things which get me excited about the fact that the ponies will be hitting the big screen in 2017, because stuff like this is already going on within the small screen.
  3. I've been an Indianapolis Colts fan for decades - through all of the triumphs and the heartbreak. I've been loyal. So, when I saw this during the Super Bowl commercials last season... ...I about lost my s*!t. It's the happiness you only feel when two of your favorite things combine, out of the clear blue. (Speaking of blue, go Colts!)
  4. **SQUEEE!!!** It might be happening! http://www.equestriadaily.com/2015/09/possible-pony-pinball-game-on-way-from.html
  5. I'm now predicting Thanksgiving, 2016. (For obvious reasons.)
  6. I'm sure people have mentioned this, but...a widely-distributed feature film means far more than just the existence of a movie. It definitely means more merchandise. It probably means MLP: FiM appearing on all major networks in film trailers. It probably means the # of MLP: FiM references in other media will increase tenfold (already starting). It could mean the actors involved potentially showing up on late-night TV. It could mean cross-marketing in commercials. It could mean Ellen DeGeneres dedicates a show to them. It could mean more than one film. The possibilities go on and on. For me, it means my favorite characters from a playing-behind-the-eight-ball cartoon show on a fledgling network are about to become household names. This doesn't happen very often!
  7. After Robin made Genie legendary, he and Dan Castellaneta (sort of) took turns doing the voice of Genie. You can tell when Dan is doing Genie because, when Genie gets mad, he sounds just like Homer Simpson. It was a big mess with Disney, and Robin reportedly wasn't too pleased that Dan kept taking the gig when Robin was trying to take a stand against the House of Mouse. I'm assuming that's why Robin Williams never guest starred on The Simpsons.
  8. Heard a great anecdote from a co-worker shortly after the news broke. She used to work for FedEx and deliver special courier mail to Robin Williams, at his home. She said he would always answer the door himself: "Goooooooooooood mooooorr-ning FedExxxxxxxxx!" She, understandably, is devastated. So am I.
  9. She's not my favorite, but I have to mention Derpy in Rainbow Falls. She drops the flag on the hospital floor and just stares at it rather than pick it back up. It shouldn't be that funny. It probably wasn't even meant to be that funny. (It's that funny.)
  10. "Series wrap-up, series wrap-up; syndication's almost here!"
  11. Yeah - the original Gauntlet and Gauntlet 2 came out in the 80s. Top-down adventure games. They were quarter munchers back in the day.
  12. Warrior needs food badly. Elf shot the food. (And that's how people talked in 1985.)
  13. Tell her you feel as though she's been misinformed, but that you appreciate her being passionate about the toy line nonetheless. Give her a hug and pat her on the back during the embrace. As she's standing there, stunned, whisper the following into her ear: "Congrats: you've just experienced Brony `corruption'."
  14. Looks like one of the stars is a fan...because MLP: FiM is everywhere.
  15. The pony who plays Pinkie Pie (real name: Donna Joan Masterson) would do an interview with TMZ about how they killed off her character rather than give her a fair amount of hay for the role. Public outcry would ensue. Eventually, a new Pinkie Pie would emerge, but not played by Masterson. This would also anger fans. Eventually, Masterson would return as Pinkie Pie - but, by then, the series will have fallen sharply in ratings, mostly due to the inclusion of Equestria Girls characters. And Batman.
  16. SPOILER NOTES on the episode, per the author:
  17. http://www.newsday.com/entertainment/tv/the-simpsons-gets-a-lego-makeover-for-550th-episode-1.7876978 As well as Legos and "The Hunger Games". It was only a matter of time. I still think Twilight should cameo She'd be Lisa' favorite thing, ever: a pony who's into books.
  18. Purple sparkles? Check. Rainbow filling? Doable. White Celestia-esque frosting? Check. C'mon already, Hasbro - get with Kellogg's. So hot, they're 20% cooler...
  19. Check out the website for Michael Morones. They just posted a video today of Andrea Libman reading to him in Pinkie' voice.
  20. Broadway Battles Bullying - a fundraiser for Michael Morones - has added Patrick Stewart to its list of guests. For anyone who's dreamed of seeing Patrick dressed as Starswirl, it's now more probable than anyone would have ever thought possible. Michael Morones' web site just posted a video clip of Andrea Libman reading to him at his bedside.
  21. It'd be cool if Ashleigh Ball gave him a call as RD to congratulate him.
  22. The backpack is now allowed to return, and Buncombe County forever has egg on its face for being incredibly shortsighted. Win/win. Welcome back, Dash! Good fight, Grayson & mom.
  23. Breathing tube removed this morning, hopefully for good. Big milestone - good job, kid.
  24. 1. Awesome. 2. They need to at least get Kathleen Barr on speakerphone to declare: "The Great and Powerful Trixie doesn't trust air fares!" 3. I think it's time for a documentary on brony documentaries.
  25. This story just hit the front page of CNN.com. Complete with show footage.
