  1. bah, Applejack's tough enough to handle a bump from my car - take her home and pamper her until she gets better, then try and find a magician or wormhole physicist or something to get her back to her family
  2. Yeah... this is the main reason I don't like Gilda. Her character was a massive joke, incredibly cartoony, and not in a good way. Thankfully they've given us Lightning Dust, an improvement in every way.
  3. at first I was like "fine well fuck you too then" to Celestia and then I was like "well what did you expect, you acted like a crazy person" to Twilight then I was like "OH SNAP CLIFFHANGERS"
  4. No, no I don't want this at all. Equestria is the place without complex issues. It's a happy place with pretty ponies, and I like it that way.
  5. you misspelled 'Discord' OP ... really the show's never been big on villain sidekicks, Snips and Snails are the closest I can think of it's refreshing really, I'm tired of villains getting done in by their accomplice's incompetence
  6. time passed from the pilot to the first CMC episode, a whole bunch of kids probably got their cutie marks in that span (at least Twist) really Apple Bloom never cared about her cutie mark until Diamond Tiara started being a jerkass
  7. isn't MMC the first of a three-parter? I agree it was kind of an anticlimactic finale, but the show can go so many interesting places now: Rainbow as a Wonderbolt, Twilight as a princess, Scootaloo learning to fly, Spike growing up, Discord working for Celestia... S3 was all about finishing off character arcs and cleaning the slate, so now anything can happen in S4 true, it might suck, but nothing's for sure. we won't know either way until S4 airs
  8. this frankly the whole gay/anti-gay debate is over, the antis are losing hard we don't a homosexual episode to teach kids because they're already going to be taught that
  9. it probably is a cutie mark, just monochrome, like her doesn't make much sense to be, but it could mean anything in zebra culture really the spiral reminds me of a character's eyes when Discord or Chrysalis brainwashes them, maybe the markings symbolize protection? Protection from evil/mind-altering magic, that could be a good cutie mark for Zecora.
  10. Highlight text with your cursor, a little box will pop up, just click quote. well, autism encompasses OCD, the main difference is that autistics have difficulty socializing and relating to people, and although Twilight's shy and not very active socially, she doesn't really have trouble with friends. I'm just saying Spike keeps her sane. He's the one pushing her to get outside more. Yeah, could go either way on this one frankly, it all depends on what constitutes extreme in this universe. Seeing as how Pinkie hasn't been locked up yet, you'd have to be really nuts to actually get some psychological help. Hm... this is sort of a gray area on the show actually. Like, take Secret of my Excess - I'm still not sure whether Rarity manipulated Spike into giving her the gem intentionally or if she really was just bad at disguising her feelings.
  11. No. No no no. No. Nooooooooooooo, just no. No no. No no no no. Nonononononononononononononononononononononononononononononononononononononononononononononononono. No. No no no no no. NO. In summary, my response to this idea is a firm and unyielding: no. (No.)
  12. I actually managed to match each main character to the gods our solar system is named after. like how Celestia and Luna are the sun and the moon... Rainbow Dash is Mercury: known for speed as well as being dependable and loyal to the other gods Fluttershy is Venus: the most loving, but also known to be violent on occasion, associated with animals Applejack is Mars: god of war, but not the angry violent rampaging war, Mars was a defender, an honourable fighter, and also had great importance to farmers (bonus points: Applejack has two siblings she is close with, Mars has two moons) Twilight is Jupiter: leader of all the other gods, his symbol is a lightning bolt similar to Twilight's magic. Pinkie is Saturn: this is a little weird, but since Saturn's the god of time it could explain Pinkie's reality-bending skills, also Christmas has it's roots in Saturnalia, a festival for Saturn, making him responsible for the biggest parties of the year, every single year Discord is Uranus: older god who used to run the universe, things were crap under his rule until the younger cooler generation tossed him out (bonus points: Aphrodite (the Greek version of Venus) is Uranus' daughter, Discord has a special relationship with Fluttershy) Spike is Neptune: although Neptune's most well known as god of the sea, he was also god of horses and is the only god depicted as riding horses (bonus points: Neptune is brothers with Jupiter and Pluto, Spike is closest with Twilight and Rarity) Rarity is Pluto: this one took me a while, but eventually I found that Romans had this big fear of Pluto's name since he was the god of death and all, so he often gets mixed up with Plutus, who is the god of wealth, which definitely suits Rarity (bonus points: Pluto has one moon, Rarity has one sister)
  13. yeah, I love Babs' voice. I know a lot of people didn't like the accent, but I think it's great, it makes her sound more human, like a real person you'd meet.
  14. Twilight's list-making definitely counts as a soothing ritual. She gathers all the necessary supplies, and backups, and focuses solely on making a to-do list. Only then can she manage her day. Also, Spike helps a lot. When there's someone you have to take care of, you must pull yourself out of your own little world. Bipolar II is characterized by hypomania, which isn't really a bad thing. The person basically just gets really productive and energetic, for a while anyway. Then there's a crash into a depressive phase. Applejack cycles back and forth a lot, one moment she tries to do everything, then she's near tears. She's crushed after losing the farm to the Flim Flam Bros., then happily proclaims that she didn't learn anything the next day. In The Last Roundup she doesn't have a full breakdown, she just enters a depressive state where she doesn't want to talk to her friends or face reality. Rarity can socialize fine when it comes to her passion. She can talk for hours about fashion and dressmaking. So can any autistic come out of their shell to talk about their interests. But beyond that, Sweet and Elite shows that she really doesn't fit in with the Canterlot ponies. She becomes the eccentric trendsetter, ponies emulate her because Fancy Pants likes her and she's brilliant at what she does, but she never changes herself, never accommodates to them. She sticks out like a sore thumb, but like most talented famous people, she gets away with it.
  15. I thought it was more of a callback to Party of One. Pinkie's scared because she once grew lonely and forgot how much RD meant to her.
  16. this was a pretty bad episode IMO it just didn't have any heart to it, no passion Pinkie does something random, Rarity goes into FASHIONISTA mode, Twilight has a panic attack, Rainbow tackles someone, yada yada yada. Every character was at their worst, a caricature of themselves. That's happened to all the major characters at various points, but usually because they're focusing on someone else's character development. There's never been an episode where ALL the characters are this flat and uninteresting. The fake inspector isn't funny, likable, or interesting at all, which is really bad seeing how much screen time she has. That would be great, but would confuse the younger audience. The whole 'this is happening at the same time' concept is difficult enough to swallow. the one really good part of this episode was how Twilight's 'if he's staying calm and collected' line takes on the extra significance - it was well done how the lessons learned intertwined.
  17. keep in mind that their food supplies are totally different from our own, they're practically swimming in apples after all, you never know, cherries might be a delicacy in Ponyville, whereas they're incredibly common in Dodge Junction - there doesn't seem to be much traffic to/from anywhere but Canterlot so I'm guessing whatever grows in the local area is the primary source of food, and imports are rare
  18. yeah, that makes sense I guess... still should've been in the show though It mainly just bugs me how they paced the episode - the first half is all filler and the second half is too rushed. Spike and the non-Twilight Mane 5 soaked up way too much screen time on stuff that wasn't funny or important. They should've had pt. 1 give more character establishment for Shining Armor and Cadence, ending with Celestia's defeat. Then let the second half be packed with more awesome changeling battles and let Chrysalis actually do something. The parts that were great were great, but they could've done more.
  19. yeah, they've all gotten emotionally needy at some point I wonder if the flip-side of being the elements of harmony is that they can't function without them - Pinkie needs her fun parties, Rainbow needs friends loyal to her and not Mare Do Well, etc. If they think they've lost their friends they go crazy fast.
  20. this ship is pretty dumb like the only thing to support it are their fanon last names which don't even match at least Lyra and Bon-Bon are seen together a lot so it kind of makes sense this ship is just random
  21. probably not THE WORST EVER, but the first that comes to mind is this Jolie flick I saw called Beyond Borders - forget why I watched it in the first place, think a friend wanted me to see it... anyways the sad thing is that it started off REALLY DAMN GOOD with a great message, then devolved into a bland love story that stomped all over said message or maybe it was that Steve Martin Pink Panther remake, dammit I love Bowfinger but Martin needs to be beaten for stomping on Sellers' grave... also anyone who says Rises is dumb or trolling - it was a good superhero film, same as The Dark Knight which is insanely overrated.
  22. I dislike Lady Gaga in general (coming up with a mildly catchy riff, then repeating said riff endlessly over a bass drum and sampled vocals does not make you a musical genius) but I'll give credit where credit is due: Paparazzi is a really fucking good song.
  23. yes, you're a total freak of nature just kidding yeah, do whatever you want - if it's your entertainment budget spend it on what's going to give you the most happiness people buy crazier stuff all the time
  24. Rainbow Dash could easily be ADHD. Twilight's OCD is practically canon. Rarity's probably Asperger's actually... think about it. She's often oblivious to what other ponies are thinking or feeling. She's very creative, a trait many autistics share. She's obsessed with cleanliness, a little bit of mud or dirt makes her want to take a bath immediately, like a compulsion. She treats her cat like a member of the family. In times of crisis she shuts down and focuses on the small insignificant details instead of the bigger picture. Fluttershy strikes me more as having generalized anxiety disorder, or perhaps agoraphobia. It's not just social situations that scare her. Pinkie: mania. Easy. Applejack could be bipolar. She tends to bounce from happy and productive to emotionally drained rather quickly.
  25. I'd say that Twilight's more OCD than Asperger's - she really doesn't have trouble socializing, she just prefers not to generally
