  1. It's not really a pony leaflet, almost all of it is about styling the creepy wigs you can buy for the bear type plush. On one tiny folded section there's a small photo and guide for styling Pinkie's hair up in a twisted ponytail that kinda makes her look very 1930's. Then a photo of Dash with a ponytail and a basic explanation of a ponytail. The entire thing is the size of a bookmark.
  2. I do not feel anyone can judge the OP's situation from a few scant sentences.. I suffer from clinical depression but I can still laugh when I hear a joke, I still smile when I escape for a few moments into a compelling story or show.. But I do not judge others by my metre-stick. If a person finds genuine enjoyment or escape in something like MLP, that is not to say they are not depressed. It is certainly a much healthier response than cyclic escape systems such as retail therapy (order something online > thrill of waiting for package > receive package > brief uplift > order somethign online). And kudos to the OP for breaking out and enjoying life again.
  3. Look at the edge along each strip of colour, where they touch. There are printed stitches. I just thought it was a neat nod to detail.
  4. My Wifi team until Black 2 came out was: Arcanine Zoroark Cofrigus(sp?) Vaporeon Haxorus Lucario And it was terribly ineffective.
  5. I got mine made on the hellishly busy Easter Monday, and after queueing for nearly an hour, the staff member who stuffed my Dash undid the elastic bands and tousled her hair vigorously. I didn't have chance to stop her, I was just trying not to pop a temple vein whilst grinning so kids didn't see me looking angry. That entire day was a stinker for other reasons, so it took until yesterday for me to unpackage her, condition her mane and tie it up in plaits to stop my cat from eating it. I'm not a fan of doll hair, so I am considering buying some minky to make her a mane. I tried to take a picture outside but the weather was frightful today, haha.I snapped this and she promptly blew away down the garden. Not that I fared much better indoors - link Here's the cape, you can see the printed "stitches" on the rainbow where Rarity has sewn it together. You also get the jewelled green flowers, but they're elasticated, not clips. The velcro on the cape is non-snag velcro so it won't damage the satin.
  6. No specifica areas, I can just tell that the textures are different across the pony - the material direction is more of a general tip! It's often the difference between a nice looking plush and a professional looking plush. Felt and fleece are also less forgiving when you work and adjust them for longer periods.
  7. Very neat indeed. For your second ever plush, it's admirable! I would suggest either moving away from fleece to a short plush, or making sure when you use the fleece, the fibres are aligned in the same direction when you assemble the pattern. You can end up with a distracting rippled effect if you have contrasting directions of the fabric, or use the wrong side of the fleece.
  8. That's an awesome story, thank you for sharing. I'm glad to hear you feel happier. What IRL commuities did you seek out? Sorry if I'm being dumb.
  9. I'm going to use this topic to tell you about the things I've collected lately. I'm not much of a reviewer but in the UK we have a limited access to pony goods, so in case any other UK bronies are curious, I'll writ a little about the quality, and what I enjoy. I live on my own, so I am very careful not to go overboard now I have freedom to buy what I want! Haha. This weekend I spotted online that the 20" Pinkie Pie was half price at Argos. £12.50 for a cuddly Pinkie! I reserved one online, as I had no idea how long the sale was on for, or stock levels. Next day I went and picked her up. I'm glad I did! Is that a huge Pinkie, a huge aquarium, a tiny house? (It's all of these things) She is VERY cuddly. I accidentally fell asleep downstairs one night and used her as a cushion to lean on. Her material is somewhere between velour and minky - it's nice to touch but not as premium as some. The mane is not ideal (then again it doesn't tear and shred), but coincedentally I have been chopping and adjusting some magenta coral fleece throws this month, so I'm going to make her a nice plush mane. Her forehead isn't so bulgy in real life as the photos, and once there's a nice mane in place, she'll look super. Here you can see that they did make an effort with the sewing pattern at least. Here's the pirate ship she's standing near - I shared it in my intro post too - I hope nobody minds. Ever since I found out the barcodes for the blind bag ponies, I've saved so much on buying them! My one wish is to find a Big Mac some day though.
  10. In the Android and iPhone video game, you can build a house for Twilight's Mom (and I assume her Dad) in Canterlot, but not in Ponyville. I'm not sure how canon the game is, just something I noticed.
  11. Well hun, maybe for now it's best to not mention it to your parens until they seem calmer. Pushing never gets anywhere, especially if they're worried about you. Or something you could try instead of talking in person - you could write a letter about how you feel. You could find some articles about the positive things bronies do, and print those with the letter.
  12. Thank you! It was Meadowhell, and it wasn't the staff. Thank you very much for the welcome! It was not the staff. What happened was it was Easter Monday and so the shop was really full. On top of that there were people buying armfulls of ponies to resell later. One of the couples doing this were in the queue in front of me, waiting to use the stuffing machines. They were loudly making fun of me.. I felt smaller and smaller. I had gone in my bright rainbow scarf and wore a little Dash charm around my neck, and I felt like crying. I know they were just idiots, but that the time it was very intense, and I'd travelled nearly an hour to get my pony. I have cheered up a lot though, and I've taken some ncie photographs of her to add to the BaB thread in the merch section. The ponies aren't pirates, but when I furst put them in there, I tried to put them in places that made sense. So Pinkie is on the cannon, Dash and Fluttershy are at the crows next (or sometimes swinging from the rigging when my kitten hasn't knocked them down!) and twilight sits at the wheel. Thank you! I am a little in awe of all the forum sections, but I will post when I'm done reading.
  13. I enjoyed it from the first episode. It took me a while to like all of the characters, though. For quite a while I thought Pinkie Pie was super irritating. Though when she was given a bit more backstory I cracked and liked her a whole lot.
  14. Hello everyone! I'm El, I'm an illustrator in my 20s and I live in Derbyshire in the UK (with my cats and a giant aquarium). I've loved MLP since I was very little, and I really really enjoy the FiM generation. I've been too shy to join any pony communities until today, because I don't know much about the fan communities or stuff outside of what's in the cartoons. What made me decide to join your forum.. I went to Build a Bear to get a pony on launch day this week, and when i was stuck queueing for nearly an hour, some people were really rude to me and made me want to leave/cry. I thought finding some nice folks here would make me feel positive about ponies instead. On a more happy note, and to distract from my awkwardness, have a peep at the small collection of blind bag ponies that I keep in a pirate ship in my lounge:
