  1. Yeah-I've had one for a while now, I work in security so it's necessary for that, apparantly New York State considers it important to protect large sums of money, but not your life. You have to basically prove that you work in a field like mine before they'll give you one without a ton of red tape. I'm originally from England, where you cannot legally own a handgun. This doesn't mean you can't get one, it just means that if you're a law abiding citizen you're easy pickings. Glad I live here.
  2. This stuff is effective, but as @Artemis pointed out it is addictive as all get-out. It belongs to a family of drugs called benzodiazepines. Valium is another one you might have heard of-the original 'mother's little helper' which hooked thousands in the '70s and was prescribed for everything from headaches to stress ad-nauseum. I used to have panic attacks, and the Dr put me on low dose Paxil for a couple of years-he also gave me a scrip for Xanax as a 'Break glass in case of emergency' kind of thing. I took them a few times-they were effective for stopping the attacks but made me crash out. Later, I would have trouble sleeping. I ended up throwing them away-Imo they're more trouble than they're worth. The Paxil was pretty effective most of the time, and I stopped needing that after a couple of years. Still get the occasional attack, but deep breathing seems to work to alleviate them these days.
  3. Well, as one of the older members on here (43) I'm here to tell you that it isn't easier in the ways you mentioned, only in that you aren't bothered by the same crap from your peer group. said a mouthful on this thread-you've got other responsibilities when you're older-bills, kids, house, taxes-the list goes on. it's never easy to find a place for hobbies, regardless of your age-as there are always other factors competing for your attention.
  4. I did years ago, but developed a permanent cough that my doctor assured me would 'carry me off' if I didn't quit. One day I just decided I'd had enough and stopped. The stupid part of it was I used to smoke while lifting weights-we had ashtrays by each of the benches-thought we were so cool. What a bunch of idiots. My strength levels definately went up after I stopped. Wish I'd never tried it in the first place, however when I was growing up, literally everyone I knew smoked-the age of consent for it was 16-I started at 12.
  5. Just with the eyes-it looks like you were standing in front of them with a camera and no trousers on! Seriously-it's way better than anything I could produce-well done.
  6. Keep your words light and sweet-you may need to eat them.

  7. Yeah-like Lupus said, you're going to pull all the old fogies out of the woodwork with a post title like that-I'm 43 myself and there are a few more of us creaking around here as well. You're right at the typical age for this fandom-there are a ton of people here right in your demographic-just post around the forums and games-you'll find them.
  8. Wow-rough start. Fluttershy is obviously best pony-I have the tattoo to prove it! Welcome to the forums.
  9. Sonic Screwdriver probably. What's your favorite show currently?
  10. Alright then-who wants some? WHO WANTS SOME????!!!!?!
  11. Yes-grew up watching it-still do now. Jon Pertwee was Dr. when I started. When did you start watching it?
  12. The first one in it's entirety was probably 'Take It Easy' by The Eagles. That's not including the obligatory 'Smoke On The Water' riff that everyone who learns guitar to any degree must play by law.
  13. Yes I remember that episode of Dr Who-creepy indeed. Do you remember when Tom Baker was the Dr?
  14. Not too down with marrying Trixie, not going near the mane 6 and not visiting ponyville or Equestria. Any of the rest I'm down. Especially the guard stuff-it's kind of in my wheelhouse anyway-and it would be cool to serve in that capacity. So-when do we leave?
  15. I'm originally from England, so I get a bit of it from time to time-however when I first came over I was passed up on a couple of jobs I applied for in favor of Americans who were far less qualified than I was. When I asked about it, I was told to 'Fucking sue us limey'. It didn't really bother me-rather it saved me from a working environment that I would no doubt have hated, because if they were that way toward me, I can't imagine how they would have been toward others who weren't the same cast as them. I grew up in a very culturally diverse neighborhood in London-and I have to say that I didn't have the experience of separation that others have had-I don't remember ever looking around the room and saying 'there's a black guy, there's a Pakistani, there's a Hispanic', it was always 'there's Tom, there's Fred, there's John'. We were all just people.
  16. One at a time maybe-not both. How do you define morality?
  17. Got to be the timberwolf. Parasprites that can't reproduce are still bugs, basically, owls-meh. And so on and so forth unto the timberwolf, which is bad-ass. Case closed-we can all go home now.
  18. Neutral good seems to fit best-While having no real desire to break the law, I won't be constrained by it to the detriment of others. My true nature is closer to anarchist-but that's not a practical attitude to espouse in a civilized society.
