While I can understand why your girlfriend is upset, how she is treating you is still unreasonable. You're not a bad person for putting family first - even if she doesn't like that, she should at least respect it. The thing is though, the trip with your family wasn't a time critical thing, whereas the thing with your girlfriend was. Next time you could try rescheduling the thing with your family, so that you could then do both.

Actually, the trip is time critical, we only do the trip like once a month and I've already missed one, I never get to have family time with my whole family anymore, my mom works late, my stepdad does nothing, and me and my brothers just sit around bored, I see my girlfreind almost everyday...
