I really don't understand the mind when it comes to this kind of thing.

If person A says they don't like something that person B doesn't care for. B gives a positive response.

If person C says they don't like something that person B likes. B gives a negative response.

Is a disagreement necessarily a negative response? I'd only class it as such if it comes with an insult.
