Hey, brother-brother. Is that your hair dyed? Or a wig?

    2. Thrashy

      Thrashy

'Tis my actual hair, dyed with that spray-on shit. God, that stuff sucks after it dries. -_-

There was someone you remind me of... but I cannot remember...

  2. Welp, guess since it's about that time o' the year, I'll share with y'alls a couple pics from a Halloween party/concert I went to last night. I'm the long-haired git.
  3. Let's see...Sugar Cube x... Awwww yeah. P.S. - Just noticed this new emoticon. ---> Many lulz were had.
  4. Well, tonight was a good night - booze, good music, and surrounded by people I love. Couldn't have asked for a better time. :)

Indeed...minus the wicked case of whiplash I'm now suffering. Headbanging seems cool in concept, but it has consequences. X(

Oh God do I know that feel. I never fucking learned either, get a few beers in me, turn up the metal and stand back. Dumb son of a bitch that I am. The next day I can't turn to look before switching lanes. Great plan, dickhead. X(

  5. Connecting bronies with homosexuality: Connecting homosexuals with Satanism: Combining both to connect bronies with Satanism: ...Yeah, this world is kind of broken, don't you think?

  7. Don't see the problem with the counter. How is it really "braggy" if it's hardwired into each person's profile? People who make status updates like "Yeah, XXXX brohoofs! Suck it, everyone else!" are the ones who are really braggy, no? For the rest of us, it's just a nice little reminder that "Hey, looks like some people actually do agree with some of the things I say around here!" It's encouraging. Without it, some might get discouraged from posting since, hey, who the hell cares, right? Like Commander Urdnot pointed out a while back, it would seem that those who are opposed to the counter have a pretty thin skin about the subject of popularity. I, for one, don't really think brohoofs even really say anything about a member's popularity one way or the other - while some members will have a lot of brohoofs because they are, indeed, popular, others will have a lot simply because they spam up Cloudsdale Colosseum where the posts don't count (but the brohoofs still do) anyway. Or perhaps artists who post a lot of artwork will get a crap-ton of brohoofs on their work, even though they may rarely contribute to any actual discussions. My verdict would be to give people the option of keeping/hiding it, not just removing it outright. (Plus, as a more selfish and/or lazy reason for keeping the brohoof system, I find that giving brohoofs is a good way of conveying approval of someone's message without having to respond. Like, "I agree with what you're saying, but I've got nothing to add to it.")
  8. Woohoo. I get to go to a costume party tonight that I don't *really* want to go to. But as long as there's alcohol there, I s'pose I can keep myself busy.

D'awww, *hugs back* Any time, sugarcube. (Feels odd to call you sugarcube when your NAME is Sugar Cube...)

And yeah, even I have to admit the squeaky way she says "aaaApplejack!" is terribly, terribly cute. X3

    3. Sugar Cube

      Sugar Cube

You're not the first to run into that problem. You'll have to get creative and think of other "sugar" names for endearment. Believe me, there's enough of them xP. Kinda like how I'll keep calling you Thrashy no matter what you change your name to. :3

Agreed. Definitely my favorite Dolly song. Had the song lyrics been about a woman rather than a man it'd be perfect for the cowpony. Alas, Applejack is not a very feminine sounding name. ^^

    4. Thrashy

      Thrashy

I guess not, but I suppose Applejack's not exactly the most feminine pony by nature. Sure, she does *look* like your typical cutesy country gal, but nopony gets their hooves dirtier than her. ;)

  10. The most evil thing I did as a kid...was piss into an empty orange juice carton and hand it to some random kid at school. No idea what compelled this, but...well, some kids just want to watch the world burn, I guess.
  11. Um...my mistake? After everything else I wrote, one would think you'd address some of that as well. Agree? Disagree? Counterarguments?
  12. Not to start this post off on a tangent, but there was actually one more instance of Bic Mac speaking normally that OP overlooked. Although in that case, it was clearly to reverse his and AJ's mannerisms for comedic effect, so that probably doesn't count. Anyway, I think this character trait was just a matter of the writers wanting to give him a personality quirk that makes him unique. I don't know that making him a stallion of few words succeeded spectacularly in this, but at least it means that when he eventually does get some more meaningful lines later on, it'll have all the more impact. It's pretty cool to think the writers would play him up as something of a simple country bumpkin, only to have him surprise everypony when he bursts out with some big, insightful speech...kinda like Silent Bob, in a way. A character with an outward mannerism that belies his/her true nature strikes me as highly dynamic, personally. Of course, this is all assuming they really do give him some larger speaking roles at some point. If they do indeed cement him into the role of "the Eeyup/Nnnope guy", then he will indeed be an eternal waste of a character.
  13. Good morrow, friends, and happy Friday to ye. (Let's just hope this weekend treats me better than the last.)

  14. You know what? It turns out I'm a total git! I wasn't converting those times correctly; they're actually 10AM-3PM and 4-7PM PST. Sadly, those don't really work a whole lot better for me since I'd still be at work throughout most of it. Best I could do in that scenario is 5:30-7PM (1:30-21:00 GMT) since I get home from work a little more than an hour after you'd be ready. Still, if by some miracle that time frame works for everyone else, I'll let you know.
  15. Oh, wow...if I'm converting those times correctly, that'd translate out to 10PM-1AM and 4-7AM (PST). Yeah, that probably wouldn't be best for me, especially since I work most of those days. I personally wouldn't mind doing a session in the earlier time slot (the 18:00-21:00 one) on a Friday or Saturday night, but that might not be something that'd work out for the majority, sadly. As for the Skyping, it'd probably be mostly text-based since we don't want to exclude anyone who doesn't own a mic, plus it'd eliminate lag issues we might have if we did voice chat. Of course, if all the planets aligned and every member had both a mic and a good Internet connection, it could be done.
  16. Ideally, we'd like to have at least one session per week - I'd assume that people would be most available during the weekends, so we might shoot for an "every Saturday at xx:xx" type of deal. If everyone could set a specific time slot they'd be available for, we can try to find out which times would work best for everyone.
  17. Attention: All slots are currently filled. If you want to register as a reserve player to replace any potential dropouts, feel free to leave a post. As the title would suggest, and I are looking to start up a RP campaign involving some virtual tabletop action - letting dice and stats call the shots as opposed to the somewhat more liberally structured RPs you normally run into around the forums. Examples of this style of play can be found in popular pen-and-paper RPGs such as Dungeons and Dragons, Shadowrun, Rifts, GURPS, the Final Fantasy Roleplaying Game, Call of Cthulu, etc. Ideally, we'd be looking for a group of at least 4-7 people (including a dungeon/game master) who would be available to meet up via Skype group at least once a week, for sessions of at least 3-4 hours. The system of play will be determined after we have enough interested members join and tell us which systems (if any) they have the most experience with. Becker would prefer a D20 system, whereas I'd prefer percentile, but we'll cross that bridge later. As far as the setting goes, this is also to be determined; if a majority of the members would like an MLP-themed campaign, we can establish the setting in the MLP universe. If a majority would simply prefer the stock setting of the D&D/FF/(whatever we base the system on) universe, we can do that as well. Note that if we decide on an MLP campaign, you are still free to play as a humanoid character, and conversely, you are free to play as an equestrian character in a largely humanoid setting - all of this, we can find a way to work into the plot, especially if we get a DM who's stellar at storytelling. If this sounds like something anyone would like to be a part of, dust off those 20-sided dice and leave a comment detailing what you'd prefer to see done with this campaign: Prior experience: (specify) / None System: D20 / Percentile / Other / No preference MLP-centric: Yes / No / No Preference Availability: (days and times [include your timezone!]) Position: Player character / DM (GM) Any other questions, comments, breath mints would be most welcome. ~SLOTS~ 1.) 18. And so, my descent into strangeness continues... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yut5J-C-jWg Yeah, no idea why. It's a nostalgic game, to be sure, but why I'd have something so silly randomly stuck in my head out of nowhere is a mystery to me. The male voice really makes me think of the Rugrats. ...Another acapella song that quite often gets stuck in my head:
  19. The thing about that is, we don't have a concrete idea of how the changelings would behave without Chrysalis. History tells us that most people are happy when their dictator dies, but the changelings seem more insectoid in nature than anything else - in the same way a bee that asserts herself as more aggressive than the queen of the hive can usurp her position, so could an even more aggressive changeling replace Chrysalis, in theory. On the 'pony morality' end of things...well, all I can argue to that end is that the fate of the fallen is up to the victor. Of the three choices the ponies could've made regarding the defeated changelings - try to help them (good), exile (neutral), or outright exterminate them (evil) - none can really say for sure which course of action is the "right" thing to do, as there is so much gray area that it's not even funny. It'd all be up to individual interpretation; some ponies may argue "they're not inherently evil, we can coexist!" while others would justly argue "they tried destroy our very society, and they'll try it again the first chance they get!" Neither argument can really be disproved right off the bat, so an impasse could be reached very quickly on an issue like this. The take-home question would be, where do you draw the line between giving someone the benefit of the doubt and ensuring that they can never harm you again? Some people are more forgiving than others...and whereas some will see forgiveness as a good quality, others will see it as foolhardy in certain instances. It really is a surprisingly complex question, given what we're dealing with here - a cartoon about rainbow horsies.
  20. This is something I can't bring myself to agree with. Yes, they have a right to self-preservation, but not at the expense of another species. Instead of asking for any kind of assistance, Chrysalis instead skipped straight to the "conquer and devour" route, trying to take both what her children needed (love) and what she wanted (power) by force. If that doesn't merit banishment, I don't know what does. Imagine if a bum ran up and stole your wallet. You could argue that he needs the money more than you, and has a right to self-preservation. But if for whatever reason you'd been carrying, say, $1,000 in your wallet? Would you just stand back and "tolerate" him, or would you chase him down and beat him with a truncheon until he gave you your hard-earned cash back? My point is, if Chrysalis's main concern was for her race's survival, she should've just humbly besought Celestia's assistance. Instead, she just said "Pffft, asking is for plebs. I take what I want." Not cool, any way you look at it.
  21. >Goes to gym > Forgets to bring water >Says "fuck it" and works out till near dehydration >Goes home and eats potato chips ...Yeah. I'm pretty S-M-R-T.
