Looks good! Navi definitely would make a good parasprite, she certainly is irritating enough for the job. Although...where would this put Epona, I wonder?

I used to watch it now and then back in high school, I found it enjoyable despite its heavy borrowing of anime tropes that grind my gears. My favorite was Starfire, she was just so unbelievably cheery and ignorant about Earth customs that she always gave me a chuckle.

I love Regular Show. It's got a very new age vibe that I would normally find irritating, but two things really make the show for me: the fact that the most minor issues tend to blow up into outright INSANE situations, and the fact that the bond between Mordecai and Rigby reminds me of that between myself and my own best bro. It's just really fun overall, and in spite of its new age vibe, it kind of goes old school in that it puts in a lot of adult humor that somehow slips past the censors, much like the cartoons I grew up with.

Been on bass for 7 years now, and can also make my way through most stuff with guitar. I'm actually in a band with some pretty legit recording equipment, so I could probably convince our guitarist to throw some pretty sweet leads your way if you need them.

Hoo, boy. Dare I add to this thread? Well, I've always been a very shy person, passive and withdrawn. I was a loner at school, and anyone who I did end up befriending was usually just as much of an awkward oddball as I was, if not moreso. Quite frequently I was the target of mean-spirited bullying (nothing physical), seemingly for no reason at all...this was especially true in middle school. I got quite angry, but I never did anything about it. It struck me as odd as to why I was such a target; I never wore glasses, I wasn't grossly overweight, or even openly nerdy. I guess for some bullies, sensitivity is enough of a reason. High school was radically different. I was still a loner, sure, but rather than be constantly picked on, I was constantly ignored, a virtual ghost. That may sound horrible to some of you, but let me tell you that after the hell that was middle school, I reveled in the lack of attention I got in high school. All this in mind, my former nature could be summed up thusly: I hated people. My self-esteem was nonexistent because of people. Any time I was in public, I would make myself look as unwelcoming as possible in order to discourage others from interacting with me. And on the rare occasion anyone did choose to talk to me, it would be so unexpected for me that my responses were often delayed...picture me blinking, taking 5 seconds or so to process what was said to me, and stammering out a reply as if to say "Oh...you're talking to ME?" I've changed a bit in recent years, though not a whole lot. I still have quite a bit of loathing for people in general, but now I make an effort to at least try and give them the benefit of the doubt. After all these years, it's still hard to look at any random stranger on the street and not think "potential enemy," but every time I catch myself thinking that way, I try to tell myself "Cool it, bro. Not everyone's out to get you." I rarely engage others in conversation but...well, that's just because I'm really quite a lousy conversation starter. If someone starts talking to me, though, I make the effort to be quite personable. Most striking of my changes is how I present myself in public. My body language always used to convey "leave me be" with folded arms slouchy posture etc., but now I make it a point to appear more confident and approachable. Certainly this has been the cause for the sharp increase in the number of people who come up and talk to me, and as such I have a much wider circle of friends than I used to. In short, I'm not nearly as closed-off and hateful of people as I used to be. But I'm still quite wary...recently I've found that some of the new people I meet, a few of whom I had come to regard as "close friends," seem to have started planting knives in my back left and right. I'm trying my best to take it all in stride, but it's gotten me to a point where I've taken to the apple juice, so to speak. It's not become a huge problem, it really isn't an addiction so much as a dependency...which if that sounds like a bunch of horseapples, it's really not. A pony just needs to take the edge off sometimes... Anyway, that's my grand transformation. Another thing that has immensely helped shape me as a person is heavy metal, both listening to it and writing my own. It's a great way to get my aggressions out without...uh, harming anyone.

1. Rainbow Dash - I immensely enjoy her cocky arrogance. Much like Falco from Star Fox. 2. Pinkie Pie - Hated her motormouth at first, but her randomness grew on me. 3. Applejack - Everypony loves a hardworking mare. 4. Rarity - A bit vain perhaps, but also very classy. 5. Twilight Sparkle - An awkward bookworm, but gets things done. 6. Fluttershy - Lack of confidence is more irritating than "D'AWW"-worthy, but I still like her.

Aw, hell yeah! Thing I always loved about Destruction compared to their fellows Sodom and Kreator is their tendency to use a LOT of unconventional intervals in their riffs, as opposed to straight power chords. These songs are the first I've heard off their recent album, and needless to say I'm pretty stoked...totally gonna buy this one! \m/ Also, here's some epic Kreator: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kCwXLdPVrhc

Wow, almost everypony here is posting some really modern stuff. Makes me feel like an old fart. Anyway, my all-time favorite soundtracks include those of classic games/series such as , Dragon Warrior, ( ), Zelda, , , Chrono Trigger, , and . And probably more. Dear Celestia, I love video game music! I don't think I'd be half the composer I am today without it.

It's common to fear and hate what one doesn't understand, sadly. Anything a hater says - no matter the fandom - is typically based on misinformation and ignorance, not to mention the fact that a good chunk of society is set in its old ways; guys must be exclusively into manly things, lest they be deemed "gay" forever. Me, I say anypony who feels threatened by a TV show, especially one originally intended for little girls, must be living a sad existence to begin with. I mean, I detest Jersey Shore because it personally insults my intelligence. But I don't feel so threatened by it that I have to put down those who get enjoyment out of watching it. Shoot, its fans probably know just as well as I do that they're watching complete garbage. Love and tolerate is nice in theory, but that theory assumes that "bullies get bored and leave if you ignore them long enough". They often don't, sadly. Best we can do is refrain from feeding the trolls, and take pains not to further the stereotype that bronies are all a bunch of cultist zealots looking to convert everypony. I think that's probably their biggest gripe with bronies as a whole.

Even though I much prefer playing as adult link over young link, I preferred Majora over Ocarina (which is still one of my all-time favorite games, though) mainly because the tone seemed a lot darker than its predecessor even while retaining the bright and colorful look. A lot of people think TP is dark, but really that one struck me as "trying too hard to be dark" whereas Majora really nailed it, at least for me. Many complained about the 3 day thing, but it was really a nonissue once you discovered the reversed Song of Time. What did bug, however, was the fact that going back to Day 1 was the only way to save. I still think the save mechanic should've been separate from the time travel, but it wasn't an experience breaker for me. The whole series just rocks, though. Can't think of a single game I've disliked other than the CDI ones, which I think we all can agree don't really count.

"At Dawn They Squee" ...I'm not too familiar with Cannibal Corpse, but as a huge Slayer fan, I'm gonna go off on a limb and say your new one is most likely 20% cooler than the other one anyway.

Most depressing moments for me include: Final Fantasy VI Silent Hill Wind Waker There are probably more but those are the ones that stick out in my mind the most.

Regardless of the few good games they've been known to put out, EA has a reputation for slashing production values in order to meet strict deadlines. One of the worst instances of this I've witnessed is through their absolute butchering of the Ultima series, although I'm sure there are plenty of gamers who can attest to many other series being ruined by their hand. Maybe not THE worst game company ever, but they're pretty high up there in my opinion.

mega thread Your favourite pony and why?
Thrashy replied to Twilight Sparkle ✨'s topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
Hard to choose a Mane 6 favorite, but Rainbow Dash is up there for me. She's tough, speedy, and full of attitude...much like a certain blue needlemouse from my favorite childhood video games. Pinky and AJ come close after her. And I don't know if I could possibly wade through the sea of supporting ponies to choose a favorite. But Big Macintosh makes me grin...ee'yup. -
Love me some SODOM. A lot of people classify them as death metal for some reason, but they're pure unadulterated thrash through-and-through. Their lead guitars kind of suck, but it hardly seems to matter with these fools.

gaming Your most hated character in a video game?

YES! Laguna is friggin' AWESOME. Can't get enough of his machine gun and his one-liners that always fall flat and cause his buddies to facepalm. XD -
In my experience, the thing a woman wants most in a man is to actually BE a man, to put it rather old-fashionedly (is that even a word?). I've always been a shy, nice guy by nature. I've also had very few girlfriends in my life. See a connection? It's a matter of temperament: submissive / withdrawn / insecure (beta), vs. dominant / outgoing / confident (alpha). Women *tend* to see outgoing, approachable alphas who are headstrong and take charge of their situations as the best potential mates. This is *not* always the case, as there are certainly ones who see submissive beta types - who constantly seem to have a flock of butterflies in their stomachs - as cute. That said, let me elaborate more on alphas, for there are two subtypes: The lovable jackass and the A-hole. LJ's have no trouble teasing the fairer sex about one thing or another. And despite what the whole "all women are immensely insecure" stereotype may have you believe, many of them actually enjoy being teased...to varying degrees, of course. It shows you've got balls, wit, and a sense of humor...but only as long as you MAKE IT CLEAR that you're only kidding - perhaps with a wily smile. If she's receptive, she'll make a retort, which you should take in stride. Don't ever let your jokes devolve into mean-spiritedness; this is what total A-holes use to manipulate women by hammering away at their insecurities until they become nervous wrecks with no self-esteem. Most unfortunately, a lot of women fall victim to these guys, to the point where it's kind of become another stereotype. What does all this mean? Probably not much, for you see, women are just as complex as we are, and everything I've said cannot be applied to *all* of them. It's just meant to encourage you, if you are one of those submissive beta types like I was, to expand your horizons and take some risks in the ways you interact with the other sex. Your temperament is not unmalleable; you can shape it over time. It's all in the mind. Tell yourself "I'm a studmuffin" enough, and you'll actually start to believe it on a subconscious level. You will become a more confident person, and no matter what kind of man a woman prefers, extra confidence will always boost your chances. THAT is the main point I'm trying to get across. Note that I'm not telling you that you need to change who you are as a person, just to improve what's already there. There is a clearly definable line between "being someone you're not" and "self-actualization". We can all strive to be friendlier, more outgoing and confident people; we can all strive for self-betterment. Hope that helps somewhat. Take it with a grain of salt, if you please. I also hope it doesn't come off as insensitive or generalizing for either sex. This is just advice based off of MY experience, which I don't claim to be the be-all, end-all.
-
^Oh yeah, I totally get that. Maybe I'm just too old-fashioned, but I'm someone who'd rather know a person by their *biological* sex rather than the one they personally identify with. I don't mean anything by it, of course, and I'm never fixing to judge anyone (for anything other than acts of blatant stupidity), but I just kind of see the world through more of a physical, WYSIWYG lense than an emotional one...I'm kind of a simple pony, when you get right down to it. XD

gaming Your most hated character in a video game?
Thrashy replied to An Old Head's topic in Media Discussion
I honestly can't stand any of the lead protagonists from Final Fantasy 7 and beyond. They're either too brooding, too femmy, or too whiny for my tastes. I say either give us male leads that aren't IMPOSSIBLE for most male gamers to identify with, or give us some strong and well-developed female leads like Terra and Celes from FF6. -
It just kind of depends for me, I occasionally play as a female in single-player games but mostly I stick with males because, being one myself, I obviously identify with them more. Plus, games that let you make that decision are generally ones that are tailor-made for players' self insertion into the game world, so one would think that creating an avatar that resembles the "real-life you" is the logical thing to do. Of course, I do realize it's fun to pretend otherwise. I'm only bothered by dudes who *exclusively* play as female characters, and I have a friend who does just that. I'm not sure why it irritates me, and I'm pretty sure he doesn't have any gender identity issues, but it makes me raise an eyebrow nonetheless. It's even worse for MMOs because it forces you to be suspicious about whomever you talk to...you know, the whole "this player with a cute female avatar could really be some gross old man in his mother's basement" thing. However, I had a friend once tell me something that put this issue into a whole different light: "Think about it. If you're going to be staring at your avatar for 40+ hours of gameplay, wouldn't you rather make it something that's nice to look at?"

Looking for composers, you say? If anyone wants a theme that's rockin', metal, 8-bit, or orchestral, I'm the nag for you. Not big into the dubstep or other electronica, though, so I can't help ya there. I don't know if there's an ettiquette on linking, but my deviantArt stuff is listed below. Some rather rudimentary examples of my "8-bit" work: http://leon-leidstein.deviantart.com/art/NES-style-song-165887011 http://www.deviantart.com/art/Another-NES-style-song-Boss-Battle-364423273 Some of my more orchestral work: http://leon-leidstein.deviantart.com/art/Drycon-s-Theme-167342503 http://leon-leidstein.deviantart.com/art/Ambre-s-Theme-159728200 A more rockin' tune: http://leon-leidstein.deviantart.com/art/Xenocrates-Battle-Theme-155419180 Keep in mind I have access to better soundfonts, actual instruments, and all that good stuff, so if anypony wants me to compose a theme, even a really elaborate one, I'm yer dude.

Ha. Punny, innit? Anyways, I'm a new brony fresh outta the oven. Well, to be honest I'm not sure I'd actually classify myself as a bona fide brony...I enjoy the show and fan art immensely, but within my circle of friends I tend to keep it to myself unless somepony specifically asks me. That's not to say I'm ashamed of it though, it's just on a need-to-know basis with me. Otherwise, I'm secure enough in my masculinity to watch just about anything and still feel studly. Hell, after sitting through Princess Tutu, I don't think I have anything left to prove... XD Either way, I figured it'd be fun to join a dedicated community for MLP since I enjoy bonding with others over any fandom. Anyway, bit about me: I work full time as an accountant (my lousy dayjob); I play bass and write music for my band (my awesome "life's passion" job); and somewhere in between all of that I squeeze in some classes at my local community college. Before life got so busy, video games used to be a huge part of it, and I'm a sucker for all the classics like Legend of Zelda, Final Fantasy, Sonic, Mega Mare (lol), and a ton of others. I got interested in MLP after seeing so many pony memes strewn about ze interwebs, and even though I went into it with the open-minded-but-still-tentative "I hope this isn't going to be as gay as the haters make it out to be" mindset, I was pleasantly surprised with what I got, so...now I'm a fan. I can't really choose a concrete favorite of the Mane 6, but I guess Rainbow Dash is up there for me, mostly because she's brash like me...that and all her flying scenes involve some ROCKIN' GUITAR in the background. My next favorites would probably be AJ and Pinkie. So I hope that's good for an establishing intro post, hope to get to know everypony in time!
