      No, it is not the same as face to face but meaningful friendships can still happen online.

      nope. if it is then all billions on facebook, skype, twitter and every other fandom forum ever are in the same boat. Lot of folks freind's are online, some because they live where few socialise and others for there own reasons. Just because you only have online freinds now doesn't mean you always will. :)
