His tweets kind of confuse me. Because on the one hand, I do agree that many recent cartoons that have come out are crap. They attempt slapstick, but are terrible at it, and are laced with so much toilet/gross-out humor.

But he mentioned Ren and Stimpy and LOONEY TUNES. I can’t speak for R&S because I wasn’t into it, but I know it was incredibly influential.

And classic era Looney Tunes (along with Tom & Jerry) is slapstick comedy polished to perfection.

Yeah, but remember, he likes "arty" sh!t.
