  1. I honestly think it started going downhill when it tries doing heavier continuity.
  2. Kerosene is easily my favorite Red Vox album.

God, Vinny has such a beautiful voice.

this feels like the ending to a 90s prom movie where the quirky dork ends up with the Tomboy after he confronted the jock and turned down the cheerleader

    It totally does! :ButtercupLaugh:

YAY! You discovered the wonderfully wacky world of key changing! :ButtercupLaugh:

  5. Since you showed me a song you like, I figured I'd do the same.

@SpittyPie2005 I think you'd love the DKs. They're chaotic, sarcastic, fun...But they also make you think.

  6. This is one of my favorite Beatles songs. This version is awesome.
  7. Inspired by @Emerald Heart's recent fanfic endeavors, I'm digging up an old idea of mine: Kamen Rider Moon, a Sailor Moon AU where Usagi becomes a Kamen Rider instead of a Sailor Guardian. It's very Showa -early Heisei inspired.

Ah, very good. Borrowing from Kamen Rider 1's origin story? Nice. Do you plan to make her a cyborg or are you keeping the super natural powers element?

@Samurai Equine Keeping it. And in a few new twists...

      Spoiler

The same forced awakening was performed on Mamoru beforehand, but unlike Usagi, who came out relatively fine, the onslaught of memories (including his death by Beryl) made him...well, not mentally well. So Tuxedo Mask (here known as Fantóme) is less "dashing gentleman thief" and more "V for Vendetta mixed with the Phantom of the Opera" ).

-The order in which the Guardians awaken is changed up. Neither Moon nor Venus are awakened first. It's Mercury.

-Speaking of, here, Usagi and Minako are sisters. Twins, in fact.

-Also, Usagi/Rei is the main ship here.

-Beryl's current incarnation is actually Naru's mother.

I see you are taking some creative liberties. Interesting. Still curious to see what the fanfic will be like when its done.

  8. It took me some time getting used to Wanda Jackson's voice. But DAMN can she sing! Such a sexy voice!
  9. This Jello Biafra quote stands out to me, because it's completely true.

    Quote

We on the left keep dividing ourselves into little splinter groups. "Anyone who isn't a vegetarian is automatically evil!" "Anyone who isn't an environmentalist wants to pollute the world!" "If you're not gay, then you must be homophobic!" "Look at me wrong? You're a racist!" "Wear lipstick? You can't be a feminist!" Divide, Divide, Divide, Divide, Divide! And while the left is all up their own asses with their little pet causes, the right comes in and takes control over that which is rightly everyone's. And speaking of splinters, most pathetic of all: "The only thing that matters in the entire universe is the punk rock scene! And you're an evil, sell-out traitor to the sacred punk rock scene if you disagree with anything I say, listen to music that I don't like, dress funny, dress normal, laugh without permission, or even so much as speak to another artist who ever made a dime off of their years of hard work without at least beating them up first!"...how pathetic is that? Every day, I walk from my home to the offices of Alternative Tentacles, and I lose count of the number of people, including entire families, holding up cardboard signs saying "Homeless: Will Work for Food"! Hard as it may be for some crybabies to believe, people in that situation could care less that "Green Day and The Offspring sold out when they signed to major labels."! Other things are more important!

I am not sure I'd call that splinter groups (not that I know the definition of that phase, really). I'd call that being an extremist. It's part of the "You're either with us or against us" mentality, which doesn't allow for any shades of gray in the middle.

But I do agree, this mentality is completely unnecessary.

  10. East Bay Ray is the Mike Love of hardcore punk.

  11. I think you might like this band:

  12. Song of the day: "Let's Lynch the Landlord" by the Dead Kennedys, from Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables (1980).

Let's lynch the landlord, let's lynch the landlord, let's lynch the landlord, MAN! :yay:

  13. Finally blocked a certain toxic individual from my life. Thank fucking God.

  14. Exactly. Society is supposed to be built on individuals and ideas, but unfortunately a lot of ideas get buried, and the ones that do get recognized often do more harm than good in the long run.
  15. For comparison's sake, here are my LeftValues results (probably the most accurate to my beliefs after having taken the test multiple times) and my 9axes results.

As you can see, there's a world of difference between between these and my three RightValues results.

    1. Pastel Heart

      Pastel Heart

Oohh I didn't know they made more of these~

LeftValues designated me an an-com which is close enough, I consider myself an individualist first though. The 9axes one was kinda weird for me because of how it kept wording the federal/unitary questions.

  16. So, I decided to take the RightValues test out of curiosity, since I've done LeftValues, 8values, and 9axes already. Here's what I've got.

    Generic/center-right: Anarcho-primitivism.

    Authoritarian-right: State capitalism.

    Libertarian-right: Georgism.

These results are incredibly biased and disregard my anti-govsrnment , pro-socialist opinions. Geeee, I wonder why.

    1. Here No Longer

      Here No Longer

Maybe because it's a blatantly biased test and that should have been obvious on the onset?

Honestly even looking at the ridiculous terminology reminds me of every gripe I have with the majority of the right.

    2. Rebel the Wolfgirl

      Rebel the Wolfgirl

@Angel_Dust And they say we have ridiculous terminology.

Probably the closest this test came to accurate was the "anarcho-" part of "anarcho-primitivism".

@Renegade the Unicorn There's people on the right who think that fascism and communism are the same thing. Probably the same who think that acting rationally during a pandemic makes you a "marxist." the Lieutenant Governor of this WONDERFUL state said that first, by the way.

  17. Pleasant fetal transmogrification day, Randi!

  18. @Emerald Heart and @SpittyPie2005 are like the sisters I never had.

  19. I'm still thinking about how we're both writing MLP magical girl fics, and tbh? They serve as nice counterpoints to each other: yours is far lighter and more traditional in terms of magical girl anime tropes, mine is darker, and kiiinda postmodern with how it deals with deeper themes...while also exploring the same tropes in more detail.

If yours is Sailor Moon and Tokyo Mew Mew, then mine is Madoka and Kill la Kill.
