Hey, Ven. Seen my new blog yet?
-
*pokes you with a stick
that has a hornet's nest at the end of it* -
Is that sippy box bottomless?

I've already got a title in mind for the Majikarubasuto spin-off fix (the one starting @Emerald<3, @Lucky Bolt, @Misty Breeze, @Bakugou Is My Man ❤, mine, and @TheRockARooster's OCs).
Majikarubasuto: The Unfound Doors.

And my new blog is up!
Go check it out!

Thinking about creating a blog for my magical girl ponyfic (and its setting as a whole) so I can expand on the initial ideas I wrote in the outline I made for it.

Do you think Black Clover deserves the criticisms it gets?
-
I understand some of the criticism it gets. It is similar to My Hero Academia in the sense that Asta, just like Midoriya, was born without magic/a quirk. They eventually get their own and strive to prove themselves. I honestly don’t mind the comparison. It all comes down to execution. I think that, if people gave Black Clover a real chance, they’d see how good it really gets.
-
Yeah. The most major complaint I've heard is how it follows the shonen "formula" too closely. So does MHA, but no one complains about that because Black Clover is the easier/more obvious target.
My response to those complaints: "Hey, no idea is truly original or not full of cliches. Who cares? It's a shonen series, so if course it'll be the standard for the genre."

So, y'all remember that idea for a magical girl fic I tossed out a few days ago? I figured, "there should be a bit of gender diversity in the group of main characters", so I figured I'd not only add my OC but also @TheRockARooster's - basically not only are they the sole two guys surrounded by four magical girls, but they're also the comic relief characters who in spite of being mundane are actually pretty kickass when it comes down to it.

OK, so I'm in the planning stages for my first EP, Songs About Cars and Girls, but I'm unsure of what to go with in terms of its structure:
1) Half covers and half originals (seeing as it'll be a 6-song EP, it'd be 3 original songs, and 3 covers on each side).
2) Mostly originals, with (likely) 2 covers. For this one, I have an idea of the structure - side A would be the "rockers", and side B would be more "acoustic" material - each side would have 2 originals, and 1 cover each.
In any case, I have a lot of originals, either partially or entirely written, and too many choices for cover material.

So, I've already come up with a rough tracklist of what the EP might look like:
Side A - The Rockers
1) "Bride of the Monster" - Hey, I'm a psychobilly artist. Cheesy B-movies are part of the image. So why not write a song about my favorite B-movie ever?
2) "Little Blue Beetle" - This was one of the first songs I attempted to write, and it still remains partially unfinished. My inspiration came from Nirvana's song " About a Girl", and after listening to the Beach Boys' Little Deuce Coupe album on repeat, I wondered what would happen if Kurt had attempted a take on a car song in the vein of Brian and the guys. This is that result.
3) "Viva Las Vegas" - For the first of two covers, why not cover a rock and roll standard; not only that, but use the version I'm most familiar with as a template - the version by the Dead Kennedys?
Side B - The Acoustics
4) "Strawberry Jam" - my attempt at a dirty Delta blues tune in the vein of Robert Johnson and Muddy Waters, it's a humorous story about a man bragging to his friends about his woman. I won't go any further.
5) "If You Were Mine" - this is a pastiche of Tiger Army 's more country/ballad-influenced tunes, and really the only song on here where I used a muse. Not gonna say who, though.
I
6) "Hurt" - Decided I should cover Johnny Cash's swansong as the closer to the EP, but putting a slight baroque music twist on it, with a harpsichord and string quartet accompanying the guitar.

I've asked this before, but you got Discord?
-
Sorry I haven't responded to our RP. I just tend to get easily distracted.
-
OK, so for the fic, what do you think about having the South/Midwest as a setting?

Heck yeah! I'm actually from Texas, so let's represent!
This ain't gonna get political though, right?

I'm thinking of writing an EqG magical girl fic starring @Lucky Bolt, @Emerald<3, @Bakugou Is My Man ❤, and @Misty Breeze's OCs. What do y'all think?

You bet it is! I'mma kill these monsters.
This sounds like some hella dark Sailor Moon sh**
And I love it.

-
Considering how we'll first meet Wolf (she kills and ends up eating someone), you'll appreciate this Fox's dark tone a lot.

*gives all the hugs*

...So, here's an interesting fact: horses are naturally polygamous. So does that mean Equestria practices open relationships?
-
The fact that this exists is an utter disrespect to the campy, lovably psychedelic weirdness that was the Banana Splits.

Oh, silly @Bas.
I'd record it on video!
