  1. tmw you want a catgirl waifu bad

  2. Have I ever told you that you're an awesome friend and that I wouldn't trade our friendship for anything in the world?

    1. Emerald Heart

      Emerald Heart

I may have heard you say that once or twice...

      Thanks! And also, back atchya!

  3. OK, can I just say that Supreme is Alan Moore's best work?

Like....it is miles better than Watchmen and it's a shame that Alan Moore's "reconstruction" era isn't as influential as his early dark work.

  4. Hey, thanks for accepting my friend request, hun!

      You're very welcome!

I've been reading a lot of Golden/Silver Age comics (and pastiches thereof).

  5. I've thought about doing an RP thread set in my superhero universe; it'd be pretty freeform with no set plot, just following various heroes and possibly villains as they go on various adventures.

Like, for example, say I want to have my review of 1963 by Alan Moore be between you and I (I'm not trying or intending to make this a proposition; besides, I know you're not a Marvel fan, and while I know that definitively applies to the MCU, I'm unsure if that'd apply to the '60s Marvel comics that this series is pastiching). The review would be us switching back and forth and giving our opinions.

      Here No Longer

I don't really have the biggest interest in comics in general and yeah as you said particularly not Marvel comics... I also have my own things going on as well like I'm in the process of designing my own game, but at this point I'm at a roadblock...

  7. Tempted to name Infinite's (my Superman-esque character) Lois Lane analogue after either @Emerald Heartor @The Wife of Rengoku), and I'm already gonna name his Jimmy Olsen analogue after @HawkbitAlpha.

  8. I already have an idea for what my first comic review will be: 1963 by Alan Moore.

What can I say? I'm a sucker for the Silver Age.

  9. I think I'm gonna start doing comic reviews.

  10. So, i've started reading 1963 by Alan Moore. it's the PERFECT encapsulation of the Silver Age (my favorite era of comics). Seriously, check it out.

  11. I haven't been here in...forever. What's happening, nerds? :P

      Samurai Equine

Oh, not much. I built a tower to Equestria, but it crumbled. A new holiday was invented. Space aliens came to visit. You know, just the mundane stuff. :orly:

      Welcome back, Renny. ^^

  12. You know what's a book I'd know you'd like? The Tao of Pooh.

That sounds really familiar actually. :o What it be?

      @Renegade the Unicorn

is it a book about whinnie the pooh?

  13. Reminder: I have celebs like Greg Cipes and Michelle Creber following me on Twitter; they probably look at my tweets and think I belong in some Victorian era mental institution, or that I escaped from such.

Meanwhile, the people that follow my Twitter absolutely don't care because I have nothing of value to say over there. :muffins:

  14. Day 1 of becoming a musician: Struggling to figure out how Pro Tools works.

    1. Tacodidra

      Tacodidra

Good luck, my friend! :kindness: I'm sure the music you make will be amazing! :rarity:

  15. Hmmm...what should I record as my first demo?: "She Said" by Hasil Adkins, "Lucille" by Little Richard, or "I Can't Hardly Stand It" by Charlie Feathers?

  16. Check it out, guys! I finally made a topic for my music!:

  17. So I'm finally gearing up to actually record some tunes - I already have a solid idea for my first single: "She Sniffs Glue"/"Chicken Walk" (the latter is a cover of a Hasil Adkins song).

  18. Main character descriptions for Club Penguin Adventures:

    Renegade:

    Quote

Renegade is not what you call a social butterfly. More like a social gadfly - he’s easily bored, and will often amuse himself by interrupting the tranquility and peace of Club Penguin Island via pranks and schemes to earn more coins. He’s not a malicious sort, though; he has his limits when it comes to his idea of fun, and will fix his messes whenever they inevitably arise. He cares deeply for his friends, especially Harletrix.

    Harletrix:

    Quote

A barista at Club Penguin’s local Coffee Shop, Harletrix is (surprisingly) somehow even crazier than Renegade; she tends to be hyperactive, chatty, and obsessed with theater and Halloween-type things. Yet these eccentricities mask an anxious, easily stressed girl who really just wants some friends.

    Jyger:

    Quote

a reporter for the Club Penguin Times, Jyger is the second closest to sane (the first being Goji). He’s often frustrated by the fact that not much is worth reporting on in Club Penguin - in fact, he often goes along with whatever Renegade has planned for that day’s misadventure because it’d make an interesting story (except when he doesn’t; just as often he and Goji have to be dragged into it).

    N. Harmonik:

    Quote

Jyger’s best friend and only other girl in the social circle, N. (most often called ‘Harm’ by the others) is a tour guide, ostensibly assigned to help other penguins get around the island - but, unfortunately, business is extremely slow (to the point she forgets she’s a tour guide at times) and thus contributing to her somewhat cynical views of her fellow birds. Harm does tend to come across as self-important and haughty to those who don’t know her very well, but she does tend to bring up good points when the need arises...when she isn’t spouting off incredibly obscure factoids or asking overly-specific questions about things most penguins take for granted and becoming needlessly frustrated when she doesn’t get the answers she wants. But she is reliable when things come down to it, and she does try to come up with solutions to problems even if they may not always make sense at first.

    Goji:

    Quote

the true only sane one of the group, Goji is a history teacher at Club Penguin University and looks the part - a tweed jacket, horn-rimmed glasses, black dress shoes, and a bag slung around him to carry his supplies. Generally, Goji likes peace and quiet; he’d much rather sit in the Coffee Shop with a good book and a steaming cup of joe than get caught up in comic hijinks. But befriending such an impulsive and unrestrained penguin like Renegade makes such impossible half the time. With a sarcastic streak a mile away, Goji is the definition of “jerk with a heart of gold”. Also has a well-hidden crush on DJ Cadence (but don’t tell him that).

  19. Folks I'm considering giving cameos in Club Penguin Adventures: @HawkbitAlpha, @The Wife of Hawks, @Emerald Heart, @Treeglow Flicker , @Cagey

    1. Emerald Heart
    2. Cagey

      Cagey

Oh? Thanks! It’ll sure be cool to read! :eager:

  20. So I'm gonna start on a project I've tried once before: a Club Penguin fanfic. This will be something new for me, on three fronts:

-It'll be my first attempt at slice-of-life.

-It'll be my first "script fic" (the central idea is a purely hypothetical Club Penguin cartoon, something I'm genuinely shocked that Disney never considered until very, very late into the game's lifespan).

-It'll be my first attempt at a PG rated fic, taking primary influence from 90s and 2000s cartoons like Rocko's Modern Life, Animaniacs, Ed, Edd, n Eddy, and a healthy dose of Phineas and Ferb's self-awareness. So expect quite a number of subtle adult jokes and maybe a mild cuss or two here and there.

  21. I'm gonna try and write my own interpretations and analyses on the Delphic Maxims; I view them in the same way as the Tao Te Ching - you can read them in as short as a minute or as long as a lifetime.

  22. Jason from The Good Place is my spirit animal.

  23. Have started watching The Good Place  - might consider doing a "multiversal" RP based on it.

  24. For my first MLP-related project of 2021 (one of my resolutions is to get started on my writing, so this will not go to waste) is my attempt at a "1980s AU" for EQG: Don't You (Forget About Me). My primary influences will be John Hughes' teen films (specifically The Breakfast Club, reconstructing all the things it deconstructed), Saved by the Bell, and The Goldbergs.

      Sounds awesome, Renny.

      Happy New Year
