      It's because of how self-centered people are. They become so infatuated with something such as that, and refuse to accept or even recognize someone else's opinion. Everyone has a right to their own opinion, and for said opinion to be heard. Those people that refuse to allow that to happen are immature, disrespectful, and ultimately wrong.
