    Does one need to own a server on Discord in order to create custom emotes? I have Nitro but I have not created a server. Can I still make my own emotes?

    I cannot get a straight answer to this. Discord vaguely states a perk of Nitro is custom emotes but when I look up tutorials, they are only for server owners.

      You do need your own server or be in a server where you have permission to add emotes.
