      Sad to say but you are right season 4 is my least favorite season, alot of people had problems with season 3 and some of the criticism was fair but it had its saving graces like some amazing character development for Applejack and Rainbow Dash for example. But aside from a couple of episodes that were good I can't think of a saving grace for season 4.
