Here is an update on my cat:
He is being cared for at my local veterinary clinic. He will be admitted until Monday night. Everything is going well so far.

Had the same thing happen to my male kitty. It took *several* days for the blockage to clear, unfortunately, and we thought we were going to lose him. But it did clear, and he's back to normal. The vet thought it was a kidney stone at first, but it turns out it was an inflammation from a mild corn allergy, and 90% of commercial cat food is bulked out with corn meal.

I had to take my cat into the emergency veterinarian office tonight where he was diagnosed with a urethral obstruction. For those of you who may not know, that means the urethra is blocked with either urinary crystals or inflammation. While it is common in male cats, it is a life-threatening condition if not treated quickly. Unfortunately, we could not afford leaving him overnight at that clinic so instead, they flushed out his bladder, gave subcutaneous fluids, and sent us home with antispasmodic medication. First thing in the morning, we will take him to a low cost veterinary clinic for further care.

Be glad they aren't treating you like the black sheep of the team. My mother's going through that where she works just because she isn't young or part of the popular clique. Whenever something goes wrong, she is usually the first to be blamed, despite the fact that it's never her fault AND she has the best work ethic in the entire office.
