  1. My laptop is making hard drive noises, almost like a cricket... I can't do anything about it right now, but I hate hearing that sound -.- Is that bad for a near three-year-old laptop?

      @Daring Yis, that's what I've been doing :3 I've never deleted more useless files in my life, lol XD

       

      @Sekr Oh hey, Sekr :) 2 hour battery... :P Mine seems to be draining faster too. Luckily I'll be ditching this one in favor of a new, better one sometime around January so I don't really have to worry about it too much. :D

      Modern laptops tend to have only two moving parts - the hard disk and the fan. (And some will have a solid state storage device instead of a hard disk - like a big flash memory.) In my experience fan failures are the most common mechanical failure and source of noises. Dust can get in there quite easily and cause friction, resulting in ball-bearings getting worn/broken. It's worth getting it looked at because a fan is quite easy to replace, but if the fan fails, the processor will overhea...
