  1. Inspired by Dash having to leave Tank behind and say goodbye, then personally honored and played for the great memories I have had with late family members, and my dog Shiloh...my best friend. I will see you all again someday! ** "A grand expanse stretches for miles, leading to a valley below. Time flows like honey, slow and warm and sweet, as you walk through the grasses and wheats. The sunlight echoes across the horizon as it sits on the distant hills, a cool breeze suddenly splashes memories of summers ago. The wind whispers voices you knew, you loved, you lost. They'll be flying over the valley, and so will we all one day." ** Beautiful Comment/Poem by New Reverian Music https://www.youtube.com/user/NewReverian
  2. Hey guys! Check out my latest track, Tranquil Memories...to be featured on Music of the Day on EQD tonight
  3. I am honored I got your message. I replied back about the potential collaboration. Thanks for listening, and I look forward to working with you!
  4. Oh wow! I am truly honored Ah yes! Those were the good ole days...even though I was born in the 90's. Still, the 80s were awesome! Awesome. Lets go get us a Dragon! (Disclaimer: must bring Fluttershy...you know, for major precautions)
  5. Good afternoon! I wanted to share my newest orchestral piece (3-4 months in the making). It has been featured on the new Ponies at Dawn "Celestial Planes" album which you should certainly check out as well! Thanks for listening!
  6. I love synthesizers. Enjoy some ambient music below! (This one is certainly experimental). Be sure to subscribe to my YouTube page for more music in the future https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OOLraynEKUg
  7. ----Post Cancelled---- Didn't know how to properly delete
  8. Thank you! The instrument you are speaking of is called a glockenspiel; essentially it's a miniature version of a xylophone, but it's own category as it focuses on the high pitch sounds and rhythm. Thanks for listening!
  9. Thank you! I do remember that game. Good times, good times.....actually, still good times...I think we still have the 64 and that game after all these years! EDIT! = Yup, just confirmed. Knew we had the 64, but didn't know about the game...still have Pokemon Stadium
  10. Hey guys! Below is my most recent song project; an Orchestral March (in 120bpm) completely custom and dedicated to the Wonderbolts Hope you all enjoy it as much as I have composing it!
  11. There really isn't much else I can personally say that someone else hasn't already, BUT I will say: Best episode/finale of the history of MLP:FIM, EVER! I was questioning what kind of progression we were going to see, especially for a foundation for Season 5...and the DHX Team/staff didn't disappoint. Now it's time to work on some epic music about this Season finale!
  12. *tears* Out of all the comments on the video so far, all the comments I have EVER had on any video or forum, these 43 words are the most kind, genuine, and inspiring feedback I think I have ever received. So thank YOU for taking the time to type that! Thank you, -Silverwing --Download is in the description (soundcloud) if you haven't done so yet!--
  13. Yea, his/her work is pretty awesome. My cousin can do a lot of drawing and photoshop manipulation as well. She asked me "How do you create songs like that? You should major in sound design." I tell her "Well, the best I can do is stick figures. HOW do you draw something that looks so real?" It's mind boggling to me!
  14. Thank you! Yes, the effort was quite a lot. I am really glad you and others are enjoying it! The images are from a user on Deviant Art, called Tzolkine, who produces awesome work. Those images were used as a main source of direct and indirect symbolism. The link to Tzoline's gallery is below! http://tzolkine.deviantart.com/gallery/
  15. Hey friends! It's been awhile since I have posted any new songs, however, here is the finalized version of the 4 month Orchestral Project I have been working on. Forever United: An anthem to Equestria and the Equestria Games! -Steel Matt (AKA Silverwing Music)
  16. You're most welcome! I keep experimenting with different genres, but ambient orchestral/piano seems to be my specialty. The fandom needs more smooth orchestral/ambient music! Amen to that as well. I hope and pray the best possible situation will arise for Michael. Thank you! I'm trying to write another full orchestra piece with the flute as the main instrument. I loved Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit. I wonder if they used a similar Indian flute for those sounds? Anyway, thanks again!
  17. Dreams: An ambient, new age orchestral piece that will take you to a far away land of beautiful dreams full of relaxation, stories of old, and the happiest places your soul can imagine. This song is dedicated to Michael Morones: May he have beautiful dreams in a far away land until he is healed! *This track was made using multiple orchestral layers and real life effects with Garritan. The Indian flute is a live recording of me playing. It was hand crafted in the mountains of Georgia with bamboo by its maker, Orea, who has Cherokee Indian roots* Download/Soundcloud Link
  18. Well, after countless hours, this song is finally done! Here is the last installment of "The Journey" 5 part series, and a tribute to the upcoming beginning of Season 4! Hope you all like it!
  19. ...One Hundred and Thirty!?? That's awesome! ______________________________________________________________________________________________ As for me, I work retail, and will be working non-stop till Thanksgiving. So I composed a song and posted it to help celebrate the beginning of Season 4! I guess that counts? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yvXM96ZSNdY We used to have small meet ups with friends, but life is getting too busy! I guess I'll be a bit behind!
  20. An excellent suggestion! That is what I was thinking, but you clarified my thoughts! I won't spoil the surprise. But it will indeed, end up being something of that nature! Thank you for your encouragement and comments! Indeed, I left the third track with a last sound of a kind of "unresolved nature". Song 4 will pick up where song 3 left off, and I do like SerinaAves's suggestion! Well, what am I doing on the forums? Time to get playing and recording! (Side note: It could take up to 3 more weeks for the next 2 songs, as I don't want to rush the composition. I have done that before, and after I uploaded the song and video, I came up with a great idea for a more revised edition, but it was too late. Now, I give it about a week before an upload to ensure I don't want to change anything. We composers never really get to a point of "finished", only a point of "it's time to stop working on it!" if you know what I mean!)
  21. Nice song! The beginning starts off very ambient. Very nice. I would add a reverb effect to the drums just to match the ambient sound, or slowly build into the bass drop. The snare build up does not quite match the tempo to the previous ambient sound still being played, but that is easily fixable with some song editing! Awesome job on the dubstep! (I wish I could do that!) The only thing my ears are telling me, is that the dubstep/bass drop sounds very treble. If you were in a car, the majority of the noise would be coming from the front speakers and tweeters. Maybe adjust the effects to where the song is more evenly balanced? Example: More bass, and little less treble, and added refinement. It could be my head phones, but I am not sure. Overall, great start to this!!
  22. Welcome to the site! Before I head off to bed, I will see if I can analyze the song for you! Firstly, what is your inspiration for the song? The reason I ask is, you can have all the cool sound effects and instruments you want, but the overall theme and the inspiration is what will make or break a song. With that said, to the analysis! I think you are off to a good start! The beginning is just slightly repetitive. I would cut the first instrument/synth effect to 2 measures instead of 4. It gets into the song quicker. Also, there is a lot of clipping (this happens with electronic instruments a lot. If you were to play a note on a guitar, it reverberates. With electronic music, it cuts off really quick). Go ahead and experiment with a Reverb effect. Try adding the effect to different sounds, or the song as a whole. But doing it instrument by instrument and adjusting the settings might be best. You just want a slight carry over of those notes, almost like a concert hall! it's the best effect to use to make the instruments sound more natural to the ear IMO. Some of the sounds don't completely harmonize with one another (notes on top of one another) but you may have been going for a different sound! Just to get the song going, I would add some sort of bass instrument somewhere in the 15 to 30 second mark. The intro seems long. At 40 seconds in, is where I see the song begin to start. But the effects and instruments change again at 1 minute. I think 1 minute 15 seconds is where the song finally takes off, with the bass and melody. I would go for something more like this! In the end, you want to make sure you get the main melody and "feeling" of the song rather quickly. A 30 second intro or less is pretty standard with a song of this tempo. Also, the different sounds and constant changing of the melody (except for your main synth!) distracts from it just a little, almost like more of a sound effects demo as opposed to a song. Just crisp up the main melody and bring that out more, and you will be golden! I hope I was not too critical! Just trying to help out! I like where it is going. Keep us updated on it!
  23. Thank you! Although video game themes were not the intention of sound, I can certainly see where you are coming from! And although songs 1 and 2 were thought up manually, song 3 was certainly inspired by Hans Zimmer a little! That composer is a musical genius when it comes to movies!
  24. I'm glad Octavia would approve! It's nice to know that, even though you are not into this type of music too much, that you still enjoyed it! And I understand your concern about audio quality. I did my best to master them. Song 1 is strictly computerized and harmonized for the most realistic sound, while song 2 is almost entirely real instrumentation and keyboard. The recording quality of the two, differs unfortunately...unless a person who had studio equipment was able to work on it! How did you like song 3? I'll post it below
