Doom Eternal is not fun.

For most games I play, I watch a play through to find the secrets. The play through is about 2:30 long. I got about 30 minutes through, which I think is level 2, and I've had enough. The combat is boring and repetitive. You have very little ammo, so you shoot the enemies until they stagger and then finish them. You do that in every combat. The game is a platformer. In my day, Doom was a shooter, and you killed demons and pushed a few buttons to open some doors. There are other things I can be doing with my time, or other games to play. It's boring. Supposedly you swap weapon upgrades to use against different enemies, but I see no difference in them, and there is not enough ammo so you're always using all the ammo in every weapon in every fight. I took the disc out and I don't think I will ever put it back in. Just before I started Doom Eternal, I was playing Doom Slayers which is the original Doom, Doom 2, and Doom 3. I was playing Doom and it was more fun. Maybe it's just nostalgia from when I played the game 25 years ago.

You gotta be more strategic. If you're using one weapon and nothing else you're doing it all wrong. Also it's not a platformer, it's a lot more like Quake with arena style fights. Also, you always have a chainsaw charge on regen, use that on the weak demons, get ammo back. Shoot weak points on Arachnotrons and Mancubi. If you're not having fun it's because you're playing it like Doom 2016. Don't do that.

I'm not using one weapon. I have 3 so far, and I use all of them because I run out of ammo all the time. I never noticed my chainsaw regenerate. I don't like arena fights. It's just running around shooting randomly until everything is dead. I'm not going to try to target some weak spot. I aint got time for that.
