Looking forward to a cold day off. It's fun to go for a walk when it is cold and cloudy. I have business to do at the library anyway.

Have to stop watching retro video game playthroughs, it just makes me want to buy those games.

Going to take a walk. The weather has gotten cold now.

Why buy a PS5 or Series X when they have the same game on the previous console?

Xbox names are confusing, I have to stop think about which is which. Series S is a step up from One X. But was the game made for One, One X, or Series S / X? That's an older game if I remember. Does the Series S/X make One games better, or do you need a game to be made to take advantage of that?
Point is, some consumers are going to not upgrade just for that. I am not as excited about newer consoles as I used to be.

Many games that were optimized for the One X had a 4K graphics mode and a 1080p performance mode. The One X was made for the 4K mode and not really for anything else, as it had a floppy CPU. The One X was essentially a middle step to the current gen, with performance modes that couldn't be taken advantage of until now. For example; Final Fantasy 15 has a performance mode that the One X struggled heavily with. Wasn't worth it. The Series X and S however can run the game at 60fps because of that mode. That is without any optimization from the devs for the Series X/S. It feels as if the performance modes were put in to wait for the next consoles.
Obviously all of this stuff and FPS boost is a bit more beneath the surface for the casual gamer but I still think the newer systems are worth it for the better performance, combined with Game Pass.

I spent my last 3 days off going to California for my test, so I didn't get to relax. I'm going to enjoy my next 2 days off.

I replaced 3 emergency lights at work because they would not come on when I pushed the test button. I bench tested the old ones. One worked fine, don't know why it didn't work before. Another had a weak battery, and the last had a dead battery.
I found replacement batteries on line for $6. But the company will throw away these used lights and pay full price for a whole unit.
