Objectively I agree with you. Subjectively it’s another story. Back when ENT originally aired, I was really attuned to Star Trek. I saw so much potential after DS9 and VOY. So, I didn’t like the idea of this prequel, but I gave it a fair chance. Because I found the idea also intriguing. But I was really disappointed by the first 10? episodes. So, I stopped watching it. Later I tried again and I liked the later season (I think the last two). Yes, I can still see Star Trek in this show, but it’s the beginning of the end (as you said) and I had already some history of disappointments with it. And everything which came later, just burned me. I know I’m not too objectively here. But Star Trek really meant a lot to the teenager which I once was.

I know. Star Trek gave hope and inspiration. It caused me to think about issues and ask questions. It was fun and interesting. Discovery is depressing and boring. Everything is either a fight to save the whole galaxy or it's moody characters talking about their feelings.

Sorry for the delay. It’s a little bit too much communication for me this evening^^’’

I don’t mind talking about feelings or fighting but I agree this is not what Star Trek was once about. At least not exclusively. The hope it once delivered is gone. And this for apparently no good reason. It had enough potential, big enough fandom etc. and it just went this way. It feels so unnecessary. But I guess everything has its time. By now I accepted that and I just hope that some of those fandom projects will come to life someday xD We can still hope, right?

You had me at "special edition."

This was so true for me many years ago when I collected DvD's and VHS tapes.

Physical media is the way to go. Plus I like to collect movies if they were censored or banned and are now uncensored.

We were waiting in the stairway, and we could look outside and see the storm. The security camera saw the center of it pass over the pond and we saw the swirling of the water. I guess it wasn't as strong as it could have been. The worst damage that we had was it knocked over a trailer (a rental, I hope someone has insurance :P ).

That sounds awesome. Being in the eye of a tornado and just waiting for it to kick off again has gotta be a nerve wracking thing!

  11. Me watching Star Trek Discovery when characters start talking about their feelings.

      Everyone has feelings. :crackle:

Apparently everyone on Discovery has to tell everyone else about them. The show is 50% mindless feelings talk, 40% actively destroying Star Trek canon, and 10% my brain blacking out in an attempt to protect itself.

    3. Sparklefan1234

Knowing that Star Trek  is set in space is the extent of my knowledge on the subject.

Oh, and the dude from Reading Rainbow wore what looked like an air filter over his eyes. :-P

Even garbage is better. At least it can be salvaged/recycled into something useful.

You're right. I apologize to garbage everywhere. I purposefully am holding off rewatching DS9 to cleanse the stench of filth from my mind. Is this what Star Wars fans feel like with the Disney movies? I....had no idea. I'm so sorry. :(

  15. I just finished Star Trek Picard. I agree with the Romulans.

  22. Have you ever bid up and item on ebay just to make another person pay more? A game went beyond what I wanted to pay, but I pushed it up. I was the highest bidder and I didn't want to pay that. Luckily the other person outbid me in the last minute. I made them pay more.

    1. SUPERFOX5

Yes, alot of retro game biddings happen that way for me.

  23. Do you collect DVDs not from Shout Factory?

I buy a lot from Shout Factory, but I buy from any place if it is a dvd that I want. Do you have a dvd list?

    3. SUPERFOX5

I don't really catalogue my DVD and Blu ray collection, but I like to upgrade a DVD to Blu ray whenever I can.

I have been trying to replace my Disney VHS tapes with Blu rays for so long.

    4. Metal Brony 42

You should keep a list. I have too much to remember.

  24. I'm going to be doing boring stuff at work for the next couple weeks. I need someone to talk to when I stop to take a break every 5 minutes.

  25. I got NoxArcaist on some 5.25" floppy disks. The game came out this year. Luckily it also comes on a USB drive.

There are people who remember the old times of the obsolete Xbox One X, yet games are still made for that. Limited edition? Everything is made in limited quantities. The supply met the demand, which is more than can be said for the PS5. Therefore, NoxArchaist on Apple II is not as limited.

    3. Light Blade

When was Apple II released and when was Xbox One X? :P

    4. Metal Brony 42

Apple IIe, 1983. Xbox One X in 2017. In the time scale of the universe, they are practically simultaneous.
