How is everyone doing?
-
Got my first COVID vaccine dose, about four-and-a-half-ish hours ago. Doing alright.
Well - I am a bit tired, and had a light headache earlier. But, I don't know whether that was the shot or just due to poor sleep last night.

Oh dang I haven't been visiting, have I
Things were so hectic, I haven't made time/energy for any community besides Discord (and sometimes tumblr).
Anyway, today is Teachers Day in Turkey. So if you know any Turkish buddies who teach, show them recognition by letting them know how important they are, and brave for facing responsibilities that parents became too scared to shoulder, with next to no support from higher-ups.

Remember this cute moment?
Good morning everypony! Hope the day treats you all well!

Merry Birthiversary!

So in my list of things Spike needs before the show ends, I'm crossing "finding his purpose" off the list, cause I mean, he's an ambassador after all, and pretty much a steward to Twilight! Stewards have big responsibilities!
However to make it truly offical, I wanna know if he gets paid well for what he does!
-
I'm guessing Celestia used to pay him in Twi's name while she was underage.
Now that they both work in a school and bookhorse has ascended, they probably get wages accordingly? Which means, if it's anything like real life, a mountain of cash awaits Twilight and everyone else on staff gets a little above minimum wage.
I'm sure he gets paid by the Dragon Kingdom for representing them, as well; maybe with gems, or other valuables and shinies. There may also be benefits, like diplomatic immunity (I mean Fizzle and Garble still shit-talk, but aren't allowed to hurt him) and/or having a wingman on dangerous missions, etc.

"The ability to communicate with anyone regardless of timezones is even newer than actual timezones."

You could use letters and messengers to communicate with people all over the world before timezones were invented.
(Course, it couldn't be just anyone, you had to know where they lived (and their name). But there are requirements to modern communication too; like having a computer, or a phone and knowing the person's number.)

What happen if we propose an vaccine against autism for anti-vaxxers?
-
That kinda goes against the anti-vaxxer philosophy though... They have a reason (very legitimate in their eyes) for not vaccinating their children, and since they're convinced of being right, they'll wanna play vigilante.
Not to mention many of them also claim that children must get sick to gain immunity, so they'll want other parents to go anti-vax as well.

-
Problem with that is, if anti-vaxers see that vaccination isn't necessary to protect their child, it can encourage them to speak up (and be even more obnoxious) and make them look credible. Since they'd have a logical-sounding argument, more parents would be tempted to skip vaccination, thus effectively erasing herd immunity in the long run.

Does dogs think that other animals are just different type of dogs?
Like humans are big dogs on 2 legs, a cat is just a angry dog or a fly is just a very small annoying dog?
-
It's hard to tell whether a non-talking animal understands the idea of "different species", because words are human inventions and "species" is one with such a narrow definition.
I don't think most animals are stupid enough to believe a very different-looking animal actually behaves and communicates the same way they do. They might try to communicate with, say, humans the way they do with each other; the same way we humans speak to animals knowing full well they don't understand our words. Species that were bred to live with humans, especially dogs, actually can interpret our body language and facial expressions; and cats don't typically meow at each other, only at humans.
