  1. A mysterious stranger told me there's candy in the shed, of course I'm going in!
  2. Nobody counts sheep around these parts? Back in my day, that's all you had to do if you couldn't snooze Ah but seriously I just play out, well uh... plays in my mind. Things such as how a scene would go if X song was going on in the background, or what an episode of a certain show would be like if it was turned into a complete musical? Sometimes I think of something really funny that would be great to draw but as I'm about to muster up the energy to get up and write it down, I just plop into dream land. If all else fails, I read my textbook
  3. My taste in cereal has been labeled 'dull' in the past, but what's great about me cereal's of choice are just the fact that they aren't too sugary with and without milk. Or maybe my sense of taste is the dull one Naaaaaah My selection is two of my current faves, Raisin Bran and Honey Bunches of Oats. They're great as a solo snack or to add to things such as (what MuLeKsI said) yogurt or even sandwiches.
  4. My ten favorite things about the fandom eh? Well then, I'd have to say it'd be the following in no particular order. Incoming wall! I kinda ran out of juice as I jumped from point to point so some parts may seem short, sorry 'bout that

  6. Oh my god yes, YES! This Dash is BEST Dash! You have no idea how much this has made my day Citrus. If I could, I'd brohoof you through the internet Now we just need the rest of the cast to look exactly like Dash here...
  7. I have a feeling that this is your first ever standing pose, I know that feeling all too well Either way this is pretty good I must say, I like the quality of your line the most and you even added a different value for the hair, that's good. Distinguishing what's a signature part of a pony will help viewers better recognized whom the figure is faster. In this case, darkening the hair (even slightly) helps us quickly figure out that this is indeed Berry Punch (or one of her mane clones) and helps develop the overall harmony of your picture. If I had to suggest something though, meld her flank with her hind leg into a nice arcing curve to help emphasize her flank. I'd also suggest curving her back a bit more and make her belly a bit smaller. You can also erase a tiny circle into her eyes to represent reflections. Keep in mind that if you do go with the erase method, you'll need to shade in her Iris. Confused? Click this text for a visual aid. Remember, these are just suggestions, not something that's set in stone or something silly like that References for standing ponies are indeed tough to come by. The ones that are within the show are usually the same stock posture. Something you can try out though for finding better poses is to look at things you'd not normally think of as a true standing pose. Like when pegasi are hovering or when pony's are lying down. You'll most likely need to make the legs/hoves longer/bigger, but it's to get a general idea for the building blocks of a standing pose. As for what I'd suggest as 'the best' learning exercise, I'd say first learn how to directly draw from reference images. The reason why is because as of right now you probably don't have a strong grasp on symbol recognition (SR for short.) If you go to drawing straight from the imagination while your SR hasn't been refined, things may look wrong in your image. Focus on the building blocks of how to draw a pony (I.E. Draw from reference) and in due time you won't have to go back to reference shots. Just be sure to mix it up with different poses and experiment! Replace the character you're referencing with an OC's Mane/Tail/CutieMark, toy with different ideas as how to represent a pony's muzzle, hair, etc. As you continue to grow, your style will show itself, believe me. But for now, just focus on the building blocks my friend and try to 'let go' when you're drawing. I hope this wall of text has helped you in some way, I look forward to your future drawings
  8. At first, Spike didn't know what he was witnessing in 9001's thread. At first, he was confused, but soon enough his heart was set ablaze! He felt as though he was betraying his dear lady, but how could he deny such sexiness he was witnessing?! He could no longer control himself and did the one thing that any dragon attracted to ponies doing sexy poses would do... Couldn't resist mate
  9. I'd have to say.... Nope.mpg We'll get along just fine you and I And that's why I joined myself All in due time, I'll also be sure to throw my questions your way But of course! I plan to be as active as one can be while going to school Thank you for the welcomes everyone, I know I'll have a wonderful time here
  10. Love yourself, love those around you, love what you do and you can never go wrong.

  11. Infection Type: Ritual - It was not by my hand that I am once again given flesh. Vampire Type: Vampire Lord - Going with the best baby! Sustenance: Human Blood - No better flavor than human blood! Others?: Large Clans - Widespread Vampirism = Overkill! Public Knowledge: Public Knowledge - 'Cause nobody accepts the walking dead! Hunted By: HUMANS! - What is a man? A MISERABLE PILE OF SECRETS! If I'm going to be a vampire, I may as well live as THE BEST! If I were a vampire lord, I'd most likely be an self infatuated, egocentric villain who deemed humans as a plague upon the world. To be bestowed with incredible power, my greatest desire would be to bend weaker fools to my will. I wouldn't long to be hiding in the shadows nor fear such a lowly creature such as man. Such swine are only suited for serving their Vampiric overlords. Humans know of us? Good, it makes the job of slaughtering the strong and turning the weak into our slaves all the more easier! Besides, to live as a Vampire Lord without conflict is a curse on itself.
  12. Aye, that does look better Toxic. You could have it curl higher but I say just toy around with it and go with what feels right to you. If I had one last suggestion, I'd have to say move onto the next illustration and just take note of what accident(s) you encountered here. I used to toil on a single image for a long while and found that while I did learn of my mistakes, I didn't learn as much as I did when I just went and did a whole new image. If the same issue pops up again, don't fret for it'll disappear soon enough as you gain experience. Keep drawing my friend, I implore you!
  13. You used paint? Color me impressed I could never stand that program! I must say that I love your design Toxic, whenever I put clothing on my characters it just looks out of place or unnatural. Your selection though fits naturally with your character and is a great accommodation to Skyline. Heck, even without the clothing Skyline would still look great! There is one little thing that looks out of place for Skyline though, something seems off around where his belly meets his flank. If I were to look at him sideways, it'd appear as though if the front left of his flank was non existent and was instead an extension of his belly. If that were the case, he wouldn't be able to trot where he pleased! If I were to make a suggestion, just have the end of where his belly meets his flank curl upward. Here's an image in case something didn't make sense or you want a visual aid instead. I've included a reference image within it just in case. Great job my friend, keep up the good work!
  14. It's hard to say if I'll be seeing this myself. Like some of the previous comments, I'll be awaiting for more information before seeking a theater which'll be showing EqG. As much as I'm trying to keep an open mind about this, my gut's telling me that this one's going to be strictly for the little ones while the rest of the fandom pretends this never existed in the first place. We shall see what time weaves for us.
  15. Good evening everyone, how are you today? The name's Accellerant and I decided to finally join after lurking the forums for a bit. There's nothing special about me, so I'll keep it short. I'm a student who doodles and have liked FiM since the days of /co/. I RP from time to time but I'm still feeling out the water on that one, but I primarily contribute to the fandom via doodles. I'm looking forward to spending my time here with everyone and hope I don't break anything around these parts
  16. Hey there, I'll give ya some pearls of wisdom. Just bear in mind that I'm still a student and some of this information can be possibly inaccurate, but I have used both interchangeably (even good 'ol SAI.) 1. When it comes down to programs, it really depends on what you wish to do. Photoshop is more towards drawing and photo manipulation while Illustrator is a powerful vector program. At the end of the day, I use both based upon what's required with X project. 2. I'd suggest sticking with the classic medium, scanning and then inking/coloring in a digital medium before going straight to digital. This way you can stick with what you're comfy with while experimenting with the new digital medium. If you dive straight into a digital program without the aid of what you do know, you'll have a high chance of struggling and feeling as though you can't control this new medium. 3. When it comes down to tablets you have a wide arrange to choose from. From Penpower to Monoprice, there's quite a selection, but the most recognized brand so far has been Wacom. I myself use a Wacom tablet and have been very satisfied with my purchase. I plan to give Aiptek tablets a try in the future, but for now I love my little guy. Just be sure that if you do go with a tablet that you'll stick with it friend. Ya don't want a $75+ paper weight now 4. Photoshop is recognized as the industry standard for image manipulation, and for good reason. In terms of it's strength over Illustrator, it topples over it when it comes down to just good 'ol basic drawing and pixel manipulation. It can even output goodies for the web, contains special effects and can even do animation. But when it comes to logos and designs, Illustrator begins to reign dominance in this department. While Photoshop CAN do some 'vector' goods, it's limited and not as refined as what Illustrator can give you. Illustrator's greatest strength is vector art and overall graphic designs. Whatever you create in Illustrator will have 'infinite' scalability. What do I mean by this? In a nutshell, everything created in Illustrator will have mathematical points for how you construct your image. If you increase or decrease the resolution of your image, the points will automatically adjust and your images quality will not degrade. If you were to do the same in Photoshop, your image will look fine if you shrink it, but will show pixel degradation if you blow it up. In conclusion, both programs have their strengths and weaknesses. What you'll most likely find though is that while you'll use one heavily, you'll most likely transfer your work into the other so that you can use their strength to your advantage. I'd highly suggest installing both and just play around with them to get an idea. to continue experimenting with both programs. Hope this helps ya out mate
