    Such a great episode!  One of the best songs ever.
    "Come to life spell" I hope she didn't mean that literally or there's still a live plow running around the farm.
    Didn't it seem like they had five times the ponies once they got organized?
    And then they perpetuate the myth that you can catch a cold by getting wet.

    Of course this is an early episode before there were all kinds of creatures in Equestria but I've always thought prejudice is worse if the others seem really similar to you like ponies and zebras as opposed to griffins,

    Trixie was obnoxious but was she really to blame here? They WERE heckling her show.
     
    First time I saw this episode when she was wearing her hat I thought the twist would be that she wasn't really a unicorn, that she just used illusion, not actual magic.

    The untold story of this episode: Last episode Twilight was helping Applejack harvest apples then Big Mac got hurt putting on a girdle so she wouldn't accept any more help. 
    You couldn't make muffins with eggs, sugar, worms, potato chips, soda, and lemon juice. They'd be pure mush.

    So did Granny ever get her new hip???
    People always say Applejack had the best reason to go and she did but didn't they stop to think that a big fancy party would be CATERED so she wouldn't make much money.
    I really love the chase scene. More classic cartoon references.

    The voice work was just so great in the beginning. Don't want to really criticize but I guess after nine seasons they just couldn't be as enthusiastic as in the beginning.
    I also really like the more horse-like movement they had early on.
    Part 1
    I forgot that Celestia and Luna were said to have "unicorn magic" in this episode.
    So much Spike abuse in this episode! There was generally a lot of looney tunes like slapstick in the first season which was great.
    Twilight's meeting with Fluttershy was kind of painful to watch. I've had that happen where people can't hear me and they start staring at you intensely and telling you to repeat yourself. Really causes so much anxiety.
    Near the end we see the CMC huddled together before their official meeting.
    Part 2
    AJ's truth moment was so forced. All she had to say is "They're ready to catch you now."
    Giggle At The Ghostie. The first song. 
    When Rarity pulled the scale off Steve Magnet, swung it at him, and the other ponies gasped I never realized it could seem like she killed him.

    Part 1
    "You're taking over the kingdom in a few days."  I think Twilight had a right to panic a little.
    Cadence and Shining Armor didn't put up much of a fight until the others showed up.
    But Spike's fire and Flurry's blasts were pretty awesome.

    Really? All of Equestria is at stake and they spend hours gardening? 
    Big Mac just smashed that gate!
    Celestia, Luna, and Starswirl badassery!
    Then Discord being Discord.

    Are pony brains really that small? 
    And random nerdiness nopony will care about: Here they have two toes, which makes the artyodactyles. Regular horses and zebras are perissodactyles. It seems like a meaningless distinction but they're separated by millions of years of evolution.

    Flash bees are cool and scary. Getting stung by a bee really does feel like a little electric shock.

    Not a favorite episode of mine but I guess it was a good message.
    Pinkie was Twilighting. 
    And I laughed when Fluttershy was embarrassed that she needed to be rescued. She frequently forgets she has wings.

    Of course this DOESN'T take place in Ponyville.
    99 buckets of oats on the wall.  And I guess Sweetie Belle's voice is changing cause she's way off key here.
    This was a really sweet episode for Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo.
    And Rarity camping  You knew we had to see that sometime in the show.

    Magic Duel

    First time we heard the word "alicorn" on the show. I wonder if it's actually made from alicorn(the stuff unicorn horn is made of).
    I really like this episode because it actually surprised me. It was really clever how they used illusion.
