    So a long time back I was building a text based mlp game - after hitting someproblems, it's been gathering dust for months. Thinking i'm going to start over and scrap some of the trickier mechanics for something more in the style of 'Long Live The Queen'.

      Not completely based off of it: just simplifying some of the mechanics with things more akin to that. I think playing that made me realize that you can achieve impact without needing overly complex mechanics and changes to the gameplay every few minutes: LLTQ only really one core mechanic (simple skill checks) and it was brilliant.

    Give a player a fish, and he’ll probably try to sell it to an NPC fisherman. Teach a player to fish, and next week he’ll show up with the book, “The Complete Adventuring Fisherman”. He’ll start hunting for some monstrous leviathan to catch and enslave, and he’ll be dual-wielding two fishing poles.

    Language is a gift that puts lyrics to the music of our lives. Without spoken language we wouldn’t be able to say, ‘I love you’. We’d have to say ‘uuurrrgghh’ or hold up a sign. And whether it’s one person’s gentle English or another’s muddy, arrogant French, it’s our language that makes us unapproachable and difficult to understand.

    Just lost a 3k character RP post because Opera has this stupid feature that makes hitting both mouse buttons take you back a page... WHY WOULD I WANT THAT? THERE A 'BACK' BUTTON LITERALLY AT THE TOP OF MY SCREEN!

      Heh, well it's usually not an issue: but when spell checking you right click the word, then left click the correction. Unless you haven't fully released the mouse button, in which case it just deletes everything you've written... Agh! Re-written it now - or close enough at least.
