      The problem with looking at scientific research and advancements as a form of "exploration" is that it is only for the elite of mind. Not everyone (very few, really) have what it takes to be a scientist. And it's not because people are rock stupid, it's more because the thought of sitting at a desk looking at electron microscope readings for hours on end doesn't appeal to most folks.       I agree with Aquila, I think our new frontier is space. But we need to look at the largest of things and the smallest of things at the same time. If we need to go somewhere far away we first need to develop better engines and I think that's gonna happen with small particles. Maybe something with antimatter.
