Well that's actually a bit of misconception. Maybe in the context of walking in public, but in home defense, you're gonna keep the gun locked safely away to make sure no kids or burglar can easily take it and it may not even be loaded. The whole process of unlocking the safe, loading it safely and operating in the dark isn't as people would suggest.

that is true. fortunately, many homes these days are equipped with things like walls and doors. A gun would hold the advantage in an open area, unless the shooter has piss-poor aim. No matter what you carry, it all boils down to how well you can use it. knives have the advantage of being useful.
