  1. I first played Pokémon Red a few months ago I think. I had never played a Pokémon game before then. I never finished it though, it was a little hard to get into. Should maybe try one of the newer ones.
  2. Heh, it's alright. I haven't really been particularly active on this forum over my time here, but I guess I'd like to. The majority of members here do seem to be teenagers, which can make me feel slightly out of place, but then I feel out of place on most forums. Recently I've become really sick of the only forum I've been very active on. It's a fairly small forum, so it's not very easy to avoid the people I don't like, with the number of members here that's not much of a concern. I hate arguments and I hate arrogant people, which are common on that other forum. This is all really the reason for me using the forum a bit more now, I guess I'm hoping I can feel like I'm part of a community again.

  4. @@Arylett Charnoa, You're so incredibly good at describing this. I've never seen someone explain it in such clear and comprehensible words. It's always been something I've struggled with, describing what it is and how it feels. Heh, that's a lot of questions all at once. Thanks for being supportive though. I did actually do some volunteering at a shelter for cats and dogs last year. It was good actually, but I had to unfortunately leave that because communication was an issue for me, and I'm kinda clumsy. I think I remember them saying that I probably wouldn't be able to handle any issues that arose, which would have been true. I'm not so good on the phone, it is one thing I have trouble with, and I try to avoid it. I suppose it could help though, if I had someone to talk to. Speaking is a bit of an issue for me. There is actually a Facebook group for bronies who meet up in Belfast occasionally. Belfast is quite far though, and I've never gone there before. If I could do it though, it would provide a few options for meeting people. My family are not in any way helpful in this. I don't really get along with my family, and I certainly couldn't imagine talking to them about this. Really, what I want to do right now is talk to my doctor about medication. I've been really depressed, and motivation is very hard to come by at this point. I think it's worth trying anyway. I'm on a waiting list for counselling too, and I need to chase that up.
  5. I've honestly gone sort of overboard with my purchasing, especially considering that I already have a backlog, but I guess that's the way it has to be. I think my favorite of these new games has to be Hotline Miami. Didn't know anything about it and didn't expect too much before playing, but it's so good. I wouldn't think it will, but the price is already good anyway for what you're getting. Not having Half-Life on PC isn't in any way okay too. I think console is more economical in the short term. For the price of any console you can't get anywhere near as good a PC. People do insist that you can, but I really don't think you can. The real savings does come with the games. I only got my PC a few months ago and I already have more games than I can even play. If I'd gone with a console instead, I'd have maybe 10 to 20 games.
  6. Yeah, that's Fallout. 8/10 I'd probably rate it lower if it had no connection to Fallout though.
  7. My first ever Steam sale. Not too many games I want on sale right now, and I don't have much money until next week, but I'm still finding myself wanting to buy games just because they have 90% off, even if I haven't considered them before. I always thought I would spent less money on games on PC, but I turns out that I spend exactly the same amount, I just get more games for the money. So funny that anything more than £15 almost feels like too much for a game now that I'm used to Steam.
  8. I can't believe how much I love Half Life, well actually I can. It's so nice to play an FPS where I can run really fast and bunny hop all over the place. Why can't games be like that now? It's infinitely more fun.
  9. I'm in love with this channel, been watching all of their videos over the last few days.
  10. Yeah, it unfortunately would get you noticed either way, I don't think they're very common anywhere. I lived in Scotland for 18 years of my life and I don't think I ever saw someone casually wearing a kilt, so I couldn't do it myself because of the attention it would draw. Cosplay sounds so great, you can pretty much wear anything you want and no-one will think twice about it, I hope I get to do it sometime.
  11. I think they're pretty much gender neutral, they're mostly worn by men, but women wear them too. They're normally worn for formal things (The only time I've ever worn one was at a wedding.), but plenty of people wear them everyday. I'm pretty sure no-one would react negatively to a man wearing a kilt, in Scotland you'd probably get mostly positive reactions. It's not technically cross-dressing to wear one, they're generally considered mens clothing, but they are still skirts, not really much different from skirts made for women. I guess you could say they're a safe halfway point to cross-dressing.
  12. It really bothers me when people say "whatever people do in private is their business", or something similar, when really what they mean is "I don't like what they're doing and they should keep it private and hidden so that I don't have to see it". This is normally when people are talking about homosexuality and other things.
  13. I really love having long hair, unfortunately I can't keep it since I'm losing my hair, and it's kind of become more obvious. Gonna have to get my hair cut short, sucks, but I'm not happy with the way my hair looks now so it has to be done. I couldn't possibly count how many times I've been insulted for my hair, even from random strangers on the street, it's the strangest thing. When I was younger my hair was almost waist length at one point, it's now shoulder length, which is better, having very long hair was such a hassle. I do this, and I have noticed my hair being pretty soft. Although I put it in my hair before I go to bed and wash it off in the morning.
  14. I've seen quite a few threads on this forum where the words 'you' or 'your' are capitalized in the title. What's up with that?
  15. Remember when Family Guy used to make fun of The Simpsons for being old and stale? Seems kinda funny now.
  16. I'm not a different person online, I definitely don't pretend to be someone else or anything, but I can express myself far easier online. I can pretty much barely speak at all to people since I get nervous and stuff, not an issue online. The only other real difference is that my sense of humour doesn't come across online. I have been told that I seem like a serious person, and I'm really not most of the time.
  17. Very painfully inconsistent. Normally how it goes is that I go to bed an hour or two later every night, and wake up an hour or two later. So my sleeping times are constantly changing and moving forward. After a week or two I'll be sleeping during the day and waking at night, then another couple of weeks and it'll be back to normal. No matter how much I try I just can't seem to sleep at the proper times.
  18. 7/10, it's okay, but I'm really not into this sorta rap. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1JrgnmKNvx8
  19. I've played Doom completely to death, I don't really get much out of playing it anymore unfortunately, even with the ridiculous amount of mods out there. I'll probably feel like playing it again some time in the future though, I can never really just leave Doom forever. I'm a bit different from most other Doom fans out there in that I really kind of dislike the original soundtrack. Some of the songs are so grating, especially on longer levels. They're really the kind of songs I can only listen to for very short periods of time. I like the PSX version soundtrack so much more.
  20. Dead Space 3, I'm finding it very... meh.
  21. I'm not into it, I guess they wouldn't have to be hairless completely, but I don't find really hairy guys attractive. I strongly dislike my own body hair. For some reason I find body hair on women less off putting than on men, I don't know why.
  22. Dark Souls, which has my favorite form of storytelling in games, that is not actually directly telling the story. I like games that don't try to force you to care about the story and just kind of leave it there for you if you want it. Not that I dislike cutscenes and such things, but you need good characters for that to work. Sometimes I just don't care about the characters because I was given no reason to care about them, Far Cry 3 is one example I can think of. I love Dark Souls for the way it uses it's environments for the story too. Having an interesting or believable world is so important in a game, sometimes more important than characters and events. The world in which a game is set is such a powerful tool for storytelling. Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Bioshock do this really well too. Shadow of the Colossus has the kind of minimal storytelling I like as well. I also love Silent Hill 2 for the way it uses symbolism.
  23. Happy that painkillers are so cheap, unhappy that dentists are so expensive.
  24. I'd probably like to try it, it appeals to me, for whatever reason. I would only ever do it in private, no way I'd ever be comfortable doing it in public. Biggest problem is actually getting clothes, would have to make sure my mother doesn't notice anything, plus I don't know anything about women's clothes, or clothes in general. I'd probably want to lose some weight too.
  25. I've just remembered how entertaining it is to play a song and watch Twilight dance along to it in my signature. It works with a surprising range of music.
