  1. I would like to point out that while PCs are using client servers for online gaming, consoles still use peer to peer, which while cheaper, you're connecting to other people, not a server. Latency is going to be higher, it's not as secure, and despite what console fanboys say, you are actually more likely to become victim to cheating on consoles than on PC. So the argument that "there are more cheaters on PC!" Holds no ground.

  3. Same here. It's always seemed like a shallow rpg at the core, I got bored after an hour.
  4. Not really, you can spend $500 on a good budget gaming PC, and you can upgrade later, so no, it's not expensive.
  5. Early Access won't kill the market. I take it you don't pay attention to much in the PC community? Hardware sales have grown tremendously over the last few years. In fact, they've been outdoing console sales. Also, if you want to stop early access from becoming a problem, don't buy the games.
  6. And yet, the PC gaming market continues to thrive and grow, same with the console market. Well, the console market isn't growing, but I digress.
  7. Super Metroid is a side-scrolling action adventure game that released for the SNES in 1994. It released and quickly became a fan favorite not only on the SNES, but in general, and is considered by many to be the greatest game ever made. It is a true masterpiece, and my favorite video game. Metroid is my favorite series, and this game perfectly encapsulates everything great about the series. Atmosphere, gameplay, music, bosses, level design, it's all perfect. This is a game I can come back to over and over, and have fun every time, always trying to make a new sequence break, and beat my previous run time. The gameplay is tight, and very satisfying to pull off a hard sequence break, and there's just something about the wall-jumping that's fun. The boss battles are incredible, from the Spooky Phantoon, to the towering Kraid, to the intimidating Ridley, to the terrifying Mother Brain, each fight is amazing and special, all have some challenge and are memorable, even the disturbing Crocomire fight. The music is atmospheric and charming, each is special in their own way, from the low and slow paced Red Soil Brinstar, to the upbeat and catchy overgrown green brinstar, to the haunting and mysterious Rocky Maridia, to the imposing Lower Norfair theme, and the memorable boss tracks, all are great in their own way, and perfectly capture the tone of the game, and each area. Level design is also incredible. visuals are still fantastic, at least in my opinion, for a SNES game 23 years old. It's aged tremendously well, and the level design is some of the best, you can exploit the environment to sequence break, and finish the game faster. It's also a very non-linear game, you aren't told what to do, or where to go, no hints or tips. And I wouldn't have it any other way. Super Metroid is amazing, and the very core of what makes a Metroid game. Sure, Fusion and Zero Mission are technically superior in gameplay and design, but they both lack the charm of Super. Fusion loses points for being way more linear and dialogue heavy, and Zero Mission, while regaining some of the core mechanics of Super, like non-linearity and wall-jumping, it lacks the charm and subtlety of Super. I can't really explain it, but I also feel the controls are somewhat inferior. I also prefer the somber and less alive nature of Super. Super Metroid is a pinnacle of game design, and a true masterpiece. I can't say it enough, but I really like this game.
  8. All I've ever played has been WoW. I still play it actually. Legion has been incredible, and while 7.2 was a bit of a let down, it was better than 6.2, and I've been playing the 7.3 PTR and I've been impressed so far. Kul'tiras is apparently the next expansion and I can't wait.
  9. O&M is a good one. One of the few gank fights done right in the series. I ended up using power within and the crystal halberd but it was incredibly fun and satisfying to beat. Nameless king I've heard is one of the series hardest, though.

      Yeah, I can understand that.

      And TF2 is crap now. Pyro update is coming soon, but that will probably flop like Meet your Match.

      I stopped playing the game like 5 months ago, because it wasn't fun like it was in the good old days. Yeah Meet your Match was ultimately when I left, but I think the game had went downhill since the End of the Line update.

  11. What the title says. What are your favorite video game bosses? It could be anything, from any game, final boss or not. A couple of my personal favorites are Quadraxis from Metroid Prime 2, just an awesome fight, the scale is epic, I mean, it's a giant fucking Quad! And the music perfectly compliments the fight as well. And then Mother Brain from Super Metroid. Another amazing fight, and one that also gives me chills when the infant Metroid sacrifices itself to save you, and you totally wreck mother brain with the hyper beam.
  12. I was recently gifted Shadow of Mordor. Really fun, combat is really good, and it has a parkour system akin to Assassin's Creed. So it's a bit like Assassin's Creed, but y'know, good. Also the combat is more intuitive.
  13. Finished Metroid Prime again. I'll never get sick of this game. It's a masterpiece, right up there with Super Metroid.

  15. Most definitely Brinstar Red Soil. Super Metroid is my favorite game of all time, and this piece is absolutely phenomenal. It's so eerie and mysterious, and a drastic change in tone after going through Overgrown Brinstar.
  16. My favorite thing about the game is how exhilarating it is to run through levels, and the replayability is really high. Honestly it's what the series should stick to. It's what works the most, and really shows Sonic in his element. Also it's like classic 2D Sonic made 3D rather than the open endedness of the Adventure style games.
  17. ID software. Most known for making such classics as Wolfenstein 3D, Doom, and Quake, you'd have to have lived under a rock for the last 25 years or so to not know of this developer's accomplishments. They were pioneers in game development, creating the legendary id tech proprietary game engine, which many engines today are based off of. Wolfenstein 3D was a simple maze shooter, but it was still something. Then Doom came along and really pushed the fps genre into mainstream attention. The game was also a technical marvel, as limitations of computer hardware at the time made game development harder. But iD worked with the limitations given to them and made a game that was ahead of it's time. The game used various techniques to work with the limitations and the result is a game that is still played and modded to this day. I won't go into the various techniques the game used but look into them, it's really interesting stuff. Really showed how Doom worked with the limitations. Quake. Ah yes, Quake. What Doom did for the FPS genre, as well as PC gaming, oh yeah, iD also pushed the PC as a legitimate gaming platform as well, but what Doom did for FPS and PC gaming, Quake did for multiplayer. More on that in a bit. Quake was also a technical marvel at the time, both graphically and, well technically, it was incredible. 3D environments, models, multiple floors, mouse look, fast paced gameplay, it was an incredible experience. It's engine is still influenced today, most engines used today are based off of Quake 2's engine. Now, multiplayer. This game was revolutionary for online multiplayer. It's fast paced gameplay made for fun deathmatch. And then when Quake 3 came out, it was a standard. It started the esports craze which continues today. Were it not for Quake 3, Cod multiplayer wouldn't be a thing, most FPS wouldn't have taken off, and all the multiplayer focused games wouldn't be a thing. The gaming industry owes a lot to iD Software, and that is why they're the most influential developer. They created an amazing engine, which is still improved and modified, kicked off the online multiplayer craze, and popularized the FPS genre. Their legacy will be remembered for years.
  18. I'm just gonna butt in real quick and say that all computer monitors run at 60 fps. There's no way you'd get motion sickness from high framerates, especially since the higher you go, the harder it gets to distinguish between. 30 and 60 are night and day, but 60 and 120 are somewhat harder to distinguish, you can distinguish it, but it isn't like 30 and 60.
  19. Playing Sonic Generations. Definitely an awesome entry to the Sonic franchise. And personally, I think the style of gameplay fits the 3d series best. No gimmicks like the werehog, no overly ambitious gameplay like Adventure and 06, just Sonic doing his thing, going fast and killing robots.
  20. Well, you wouldn't notice them unless you played both games side by side yourself I think.
  21. The Switch version runs at 900p and a more stable framerate, and there are better textures and draw distances, while the Wii U version runs at 720p and is very choppy.
  22. Well, the Switch version has sold nearly as many copies as Switches have been sold. And it's the superior version.
  23. Parly because of Zelda, and partly because of it's main focus. And a couple of the ports and games like ARMS.
