I'm sure every kid is told to report bullying, it doesn't mean they actually will. Bullying isn't sad, what is sad is the reactions. I was bullied throughout elementary and jr. high, and it made me a better person, but these days it seems fewer and fewer kids are bouncing back.

Yeah. Maybe teachers should do more than just tell kids to report bullying these days. They most likely don't have the initiative to fight back yet. If we want more successful cases of anti-bullying, teachers should encourage this initiative, tell kids that things will get better if they report bullying rather than the opposite.

I think that we should be teaching kids how to handle bullying. If we always tell kids that only an adult can solve their problems, they will never take control of their own lives. Kids need to learn resilience, otherwise the real world will chew them up and spit them out when they are older. By trying to eliminate bullying, we are removing a necessary component of emotional development.
