  1. Source: http://mynintendonews.com/2014/09/13/confirmed-nintendo-3ds-can-be-used-as-a-wii-u-controller-in-super-smash-bros/ AHA, I knew they would do something like this. They had similar functionality between the DS & Wii with Pokemon Diamond/Pearl and Battle Revolution. The moment Sakurai suggested the Wii U and 3DS versions would connect in some way, that was one of the first things that came to mind. I was thinking they would take it a step further with a more active game. Awesome!
  2. http://mynintendonews.com/2014/09/12/smash-bros-eshop-demo-on-19th-september-selected-club-nintendo-members-get-four-demos-to-share-from-today/ Next week, eh? Who wants to bet the eShop's gonna be crashing a lot with so many people downloading the demo next week? XP Get ready guys, the 3DS version's about to be shown off on Nintendo's Treehouse Stream: http://www.twitch.tv/nintendo
  3. Unfortunately the two largest rooms at the Executive are the Grand Ballroom and Westminster, and as those two rooms were occupied, Boardroom A was the last option we had available. We didn't consider the courtyard either, though it was due to weather concerns. We'll be looking at other venue options in the Lower Mainland; ones that can give us more large rooms to work with. We'll let you know what we find once we announce the date and venue for 2015! Our programming department received a lot of panel suggestions over the past half year of preparation. Sadly, some panels, like the bullying panel, had to be cut because of time and space constraints. We tried to spread events out to other days, but it's clear that more work needs to be done to balance out content between all days of the convention. It's never our intention to run the same day as another con being held in the same region (the west coast, in our case). We'll be looking at all our available dates for next summer, making our best attempts not to clash with another nearby con.
  4. Certainly. If there's anything you enjoyed or would like to see us improved on for next year, please feel free to say so. We'll do our best to take any suggestions you give us. Well, almost any suggestion.
  5. It's Swiss Rounds and then Single-Eliminations leading up to the crowning of our champion. You can view our full rules on our website!
  6. Jafar, Jafar, he's our man. If he can't do it, GREAT!!!!

  7. TF2's economy is run in Metal and Keys for the most part. Super-rare items have prices that go through the roof more than other games. If you'd like to get a grip on how most items are worth, I'd recommend Scrap.TF, an automated trading system that lets you trade items for other items or metal via trade bots. It's very easy to use and helps you get a grip on how expensive stuff is. I personally don't have a server, I was referring to the fact that some servers have an option to not show up in people's server search lists, basically keeping F2Ps out. Premium players get to see every server available on their lists.
  8. Hats. That's what. But seriously, you can get rare cosmetic item drops now as well as the ability to craft them, and your backpack can hold up to 300 items by default. You can also trade and gift items to other players now, instead of just receiving them. Lastly, you're clear to enter any server available, rather than just being denied entry for being Free-to-Play.
  9. Badge pick-up will begin Friday morning. We'll have reg hours posted on our events page soon so you can plan your transport to the con.. As for this year's reg desk, it will be in an area of the hotel lobby located outside of the Grand Ballroom. There will be one line this year, but if you have pre-registered for the con, we will have a dedicated line runner who can pull you out and take you to the cashiers' desk. New attendees will need to register at the terminals we'll have set up to register for walk-in passes. You will receive your badge and any extras you have paid for at the cashiers' table. Please note that you will need the following items in order to complete registration: Valid photo ID: Driver's licence, Provincial/State ID or Passport Written parental consent for attendees aged 12-16. Cash, preferably in Canadian. We do accept American at face value, but there will be an ATM available inside the lobby.
  10. In my short years of owning a Wii and Gaming Laptop, there have been several levels and bosses that have brought my piss to a boil. "The Perfect Run" from Mario Galaxy 2. The Jungle Zone boss in Sonic 2 Master System. Shy Guy Beach in Mario Kart Wii. TF2's HELLTOWER. I really have a sore spot for these levels. But there's one boss that drove me insane so much when I played it the first time, I get the urge to walk up to my screen and smash it with my fist. Skyward Sword's Tentalus. Abyssal? More like ABYSMAL Not only is this boss bland as all hell, he's ridiculously annoying with his arms flailing all over and making me lose my patience trying to get him to reveal himself. The aiming mechanics of the bow did not help matters in the slightest, and he has a really bad habit of grabbing me right from behind while I'm busy trying to get rid of the stupid tentacles. And don't get me started on the eye. Just don't. I've died to this a-hole so many times, I can't even beat the boss rush mode because of him. BURN IN HELL, YOU MUMBLING ABOMINATION!!!
  11. Thought you saw the last of this meme? DasBoSchitt has something to say about that. And in ways most of us can relate too...
  12. We have just closed our Panel Submissions form, so our full schedule will be released on our events page within the next few days!
  13. WARNING: You have until tomorrow (Monday July 14th) to submit your stories! Last call for entries!
  14. I've been playing New Leaf since January, and I've been loving it. Such a relaxing game, something I've been needing for a long time. One of these days I want to give the GameCube version a go. Friend Code is 4527-8904-4489. I'm only taking visits by appointment only! Kentari's current Dream Code is 5400-4224-8043
  15. http://www.teamfortress.com/post.php?id=13817 Huh, looks like they're setting up maps for beta testing. http://www.teamfortress.com/post.php?id=13819 And it's going up right now!
  16. If you've got a few extra words past 5000, that's fine. You have up to 100 words of breathing room. There's only so much space I've reserved for the story in the con book, you understand. ^^
  17. As I said earlier: So no, you don't have to go.
  18. The winner will receive an email from me to take care of prize shipping details. Also, just so people have enough time to prepare their entries, we're extending this contest a week. You now have until Monday, July 14th to submit your stories!
  19. Whether you’d like to give a courteous bow or applaud wildly for our latest guest of honor, we know you’ll be as thrilled as we are to welcome Nicole Oliver, the loving voice behind everyone’s favorite princess of the sun and Ponyville schoolteacher! This talented woman is ready to share the spotlight with our very own princess of Canada! With the threat of a Changeling takeover looming over us this year, her presence will most definitely be appreciated! Nicole Oliver has worked for over twenty years in the entertainment industry as an actor, producer, and director. Ms. Oliver has been nominated by her peers for several Leo Awards for her work on both the small and big screen and just recently won the UBCP/ACTRA award for Best Voice for her work in animation. She is the recipient of both the Founders Award for leadership and sustainability and the Chancellors Award for highest academic achievement. The multifaceted Ms. Oliver is in high demand in the television, feature film, animation, video games and more. She has provided her voice-over expertise to innumerable animation programs such as Littlest Pet Shop, Strawberry Shortcake and the Barbie franchise, though fans of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic know her best for her roles as Princess Celestia and Cheerilee. Please don’t forget to book your rooms at the convention hotel, the Executive Airport Plaza Hotel and Conference Centre, as we are nearly out of rooms at this point! Use the promo code “BronyCAN” and you can book a room at a reduced rate, as well as free parking each night, high-speed Wi-Fi internet, and access to the airport shuttle. Book alone or with your friends/family, and you’ll be right where all the fun is!
  20. ATTENTION: The BronyCAN Writing Contest is closing next Monday, July 7th! Submit your entries soon!
  21. No, anyone entering this contest does not have to attend. If we wanted that to happen, we would've offered a pass as the big prize! ^^;
  22. Like I said before, the invasion is being covered by our comic from our Tumblr. You can catch up on the story here on the BronyCAN website. For more on Apricity, view the blog from the beginning. As for characters, they don't necessarily have to be ponies. Like I said in the original post: So you can choose whichever species you prefer to use.
  23. Played the early hours of the update and had quite a few run-ins with B.A.S.E. Jumpers. You'd think with a slower decent it'd be easier to get some airshots off, right? WRONG. They can be so high up even the most skilled demo or solider can have trouble taking them out. Especially since they can strafe out of the way. And when there's so much crap coming you way below him, you're even more screwed. I've just found my new favorite annoying mechanic...
  24. We have your application in our records, and we do have someone who will be contacting you very soon. We apologize for the long wait time.
  25. Of all the game-breaking glitches TF2 has had in the past... this has to be the funniest.
