Indeed I have. Marathoned all the movies about two weeks back.

The first is okay, but it hews too closely to the original to work as a film. The second diverges more from the narrative and establishes its own identity, and it's all the better for it. The third is grim and confusing and alienating, so naturally it's my favorite of the bunch.

Oh nice. I have yet to watch Eva 3.0 (should have downloaded it before I came on this trip 8000 miles away from my home), but I guess I'll be pleasantly destroyed by it.

Mari is fucking beautiful on that note.

And yes. The fact that Mari's been completely undeveloped almost doesn't matter since she's so gorgeous. And I adore her English voice actor. I actually prefer her to the Japanese counterpart, which is rare for me.
