  1. If you can, I think it would be pretty cool! It took so much work getting mine up to my apartment (it's like 50 pounds, no joke, and the stairwells and doorways were a nightmare). So basically I'm pooped. I hope that translates into easy relaxation tonight. Good luck with your possible beanbag adventures!
  2. Bonne idée, monsieur. On another note, I'm gonna go grab my oversized foam-filled beanbag out of storage today, and I'm gonna try the files while laying on that. It's practically a cloud anyway, so, if all goes well, I'm gonna friggin' go to Cloudsdale.
  3. Thus far I've used my computer (iTunes, not YouTube), but I have the files so I could easily put them on my phone for easier access.
  4. Hey, quick question to more experienced folk. My first couple sessions have kinda "failed" in a certain sense. In other words, I was listening and trying to concentrate the whole time, but I didn't ever slip below conscious thought. My conscious mind was hearing the words and my mind was following along actively (rather than passively) the whole time. Will this have any effects on the future effectiveness of the trigger and de-trigger phrases? Should I keep listening to the file containing the induction until I actually have a session in which I achieve a trance state (and then probably switch to the loops)? I'm not saying I have ridiculous expectations, or that I'm thinking I'll have drastic results in my first few tries. I just want to get a good idea of what my game plan will be in the next few days/weeks.
  5. Awesome! Again, thanks for your help, info, opinions everything. That extends beyond ElectricBlueMLP, too. And do look for my new post sometime tomorrow. I'm thinking it's gonna be some kind of Pony Hypnosis Beginner's Corner or something like that. Just a safe space aimed at people who have no idea what they're doing. I'm gonna share my experiences as a first-timer, and I would welcome any input from others that shares the goal or reaching newcomers.
  6. Ok, that makes sense. Can you speak to your habits (or the habits of anyone in general) as to whether one is generally listened to regularly over the other? Is listening regularly to, say, just the loop, more effective (or more common) than listening regularly to the transformation that does have the induction?
  7. Sorry to completely interrupt a discussion here, but I have yet another quick question. Can anyone give my the skinny on the abbreviations used in the hypno file titles, particularly as they appear on the Hypnoponies forum? I know at least a few of y'all are members there and/or familiar with these titles. For instance, what is the difference between "Loop" and "Ind"? I know what BGM vs. No BGM represents, but I'm having trouble with the other half. For clarity: As a side note, in appropriate RD style, I'm feeling full of myself enough to post a new thread, aimed at relative newbies like myself, containing the same bulleted list of tips as in my post a page or two back. I don't want my TL;DR episode to be lost to the abyss of this massive post and be completely forgotten if there are people who might benefit from it yet. Plus I'd like to add to it, which would be cumbersome here. Ok, j'ai fini.
  8. I enjoy FPSs mostly as well as many RPG/Action/Adventure series like Elder Scrolls (ok... Skyrim...) and Assassin's Creed. Mostly I'm into BF4 right now, which leads me to... SHAMELESS SELF-PROMOTION!! If you are an avid BF4 player and would like to use some of my pony emblems, see the link in my sig! I'm trying to build up a sort of following. Thanks!
  9. For the sake of mentioning series that don't often get mentioned, check out Darker than Black and Mushishi. Both are available on Hulu for free. DTB is action- and story-driven. It has fantastic music and tells a complex, thought-provoking tale very well. It does get to be a bit much at times, but hey, it's still top 2 for me for what it's worth. Mushishi is unlike any other anime I've ever seen. It's completely episodic (no overarching series plot), and is almost exclusively devoted to art rather than action. I't so beautifully done, a relaxing and lighthearted treat among more serious and/or zany shows in the genre. Again, top 2. If FMA:Brotherhood appeals, I'd say go watch the original too. Take my opinion with a grain of salt, but I enjoyed the original more than Brotherhood (not to start any wars). Whatever you watch, enjoy! Glad to share my experience
  10. So for anyone who would like to hear about my first hypno file experience, I've decided I'm gonna share a few takeaways (a couple of which I did mention before; I figure I'll treat them with a bit more detail here). This isn't structured, just a compilation of all my thoughts, lessons learned, etc. I think people who haven't done this before could perhaps benefit from my very similar, inexperienced perspective. I chose to listen to the RD file, and I listened while lying on my back. I think, in the future, I'll find a way to lie on my stomach to increase the wing sensation. If you choose a pegasus, maybe try a position that takes wings into account. I listened to the RD file when it was still light outside, and I had to put my arm over my eyes to block out the light. This is a very comfortable position for me, but I think, in the future, darker = better. Continuing off of the above comment, I had my arm over my face. Should have thought that one through... I didn't get any of the muzzle sensation at all, and I think it had to do with, well, ya know. I listened without socks on my hands, as I was completely unaware that this was, indeed, a thing. Well... it is. I don't see any harm in trying it if it will possibly increase the hoof sensation. Maybe think about giving this a try yourself. I listened with over-the-ear headphones. I don't really think this was a terrible idea, especially for blocking out extraneous noise. However, if it is peaceful enough, next time I will try less obtrusive earbuds. Perhaps this could increase ear sensation. Going forward, I think once per day will be my listening goal. I think around bedtime, when I know I will have privacy, is a good, albeit obvious, choice. Today, I was simply too excited to wait until then. Which leads to my next point... I know it's super easy to be giddy at the prospect of feeling like you're a pony. For me, this led to my biggest hurdle: my heart rate. Starting the file, I just couldn't get it down. My muscles were relaxed and everything, but my heart was not. And this prevented me from getting really "into it" for a good while. To be fair, it did drop. And I don't think I'll have too much of a problem with it in the future. Expectations: my expectations for my first time listening to the file were, in one sense, ridiculously high. And, weirdly, in another sense, I didn't know what to expect at all. Will I feel absolutely nothing? Will I freak out and start trying to walk on all fours and fly? As one might expect, it was somewhere in between. Closer to the former, yes, but still, I definitely did feel more than just vague sensations. My advice here is to be patient and have fun! Chances are you're not going to have an extreme reaction one way or the other. Go into it with a light heart and an open mind, knowing that these things take time and practice. Maybe I'm restating what I just said here, but basically don't sweat it if your first time doesn't blow you away. I could still walk and move my hands afterward. Trigger phrases didn't seem to produce much mental or physical change. And that's ok! Again, patience is key. I'll end with this one: have confidence. It's the most intangible, difficult-to-explain piece of the hypnosis puzzle, I think, but it's also one of the most important. If you aren't confident that hypnosis can work for you, then it won't, no matter how much you want it to. There are people who will say hypnosis isn't person dependent, i.e. that it will work for everyone. In a manner of speaking, that's true. To rephrase my belief, if it doesn't "work" for someone, it's a matter of the person not being open to the possibility that it can work for them. TL;DR? Yeah, I figured. This isn't the short post you're looking for; move along. But hey, if this helps anybody on here, then it will have been worth it to put my thoughts on the page. Happy Wednesday, everyone!
  11. You, sir, underestimate my Twilightishness. Mental checklists are ever-present for me, as I like for them to be! I'm an engineer, so it works for me. Basically I was just saying I have to try extra hard to clear them from my mind. Today, for instance, I actually do have everything done that I need to do; it's just a matter of trying not to let my brain wander to tomorrow, or the next day, or the next day... Duly noted. Thanks for your opinions, all!
  12. To anyone: Opinions on volume level? If lying in bed, sheets/covers or neigh? *bah-dum-tss*
  13. Cool! Yeah, my first time, I [believe] I was way too giddy. Now that the giddiness of the first experience has gone, I think repeated exposure will yield better effects. Plus, more practice getting into a proper trance state will help, too--maybe more than anything. I'm frequently preoccupied, so that's kind of my biggest issue.
  14. Actually, I'm gonna go along with this post and second these questions. Any tips for newcomers other than "just relax more" would be super helpful. In other words, if someone does want to give advice, specifics would be appreciated. Poo! I've got nuffin'...
  15. I appreciate it. Could probably (definitely) have found it myself, but, again, I want to be absolutely sure I'm doing the right thing seeing as I'm a complete newbie. Therefore, many thanks, friend!
  16. I would personally love the RD file, and the reset file I suppose. I have finals coming up and I want to exercise caution. Don't want to have to conduct a flyover of Ponyville to relearn partial differential equations...
  17. I see. I see. *sigh* I was hoping to use the forum's content to be safe (whatever that means), but in this case I may throw caution to the wind in favor of haste. Wish me luck!
  18. I'm still waiting for validation too. Anyone have an idea of how long this generally takes?
  19. Someone mentioned the Darker than Black opening 1 already. I second that; it's fantastic. http://youtu.be/tN0iHdujZic Another opening I have not seen mentioned, however, is the Mushishi opening. It's such a fantastic anime, and the opening reflects how calm, moving, and artistically stunning the series is. Basically, just go do yourself a favor and watch both. I know this is *DUN-DUN-DUN* not strictly on the precise topic, but this piece from DTB is also just amazing. Hope you like them!
  20. Hello there, fellow enjoyers of ponies and Battlefield 4! This is basically a self-advertisement post for my work in creating pony-related BF4 emblems for use in BF4 multiplayer servers. Below you'll find a link to everything I've made available to anyone besides me who would like to sport it. I am in no way seeking payment; rather, I just want to see my handiwork appreciated and used by like-minded people. http://emblemsbf.com/find/dsharp105 Of course, simply follow the directions on the website to use any of my emblems on your own soldier if you don't know how to do so already. Even if you have no interest in BF4, still, by all means, take a look! I find I enjoy creating these emblems for the same reason I enjoy writing closed-form poetry (i.e. sonnets, haikus): because they allow me to work within very strict boundaries and become better and better at being efficient with the simple shapes and colors and limited layers I have available to me. Perhaps you'll enjoy them too. That said, given the strict boundaries, I can't ever make anything perfect--but I can get pretty close. I think you'll be able to see that my skills have progressed, even from the relatively few emblems that I've made. The difference in quality between my first (Shadowbolt Rainbow Dash) and my most recent (Vinyl Scratch) emblems is pretty drastic. So I plan to keep making them for the time being and keep getting better at the craft. Finally, a note to mods: I placed this post in the Fan Art section because I consider what I'm doing to be art. The medium is, of course, the Battlefield 4 emblem creator, though. So if you feel like this post belongs elsewhere, then feel free to move it.
  21. @Flutterspark, If I could post another applause gif, I would. That was both thorough and impressve. Whether someone is a Christian or not, whether they agree with your points or not, I think most would admit that you did an excellent job of rebutting that site's claims. Seriously, thank you for putting that much time and effort to your reply. I--and many others, I'm sure--deeply appreciate it.
  22. I'm definitely seeing a trend of computer science, software engineering, and network engineering here. I had no idea you guys are running so rampant! Thanks for sharing!
  23. Oh, it was most emphatically unrelated to aeronautics. Unless you consider receiveing design requests from fellow line service workers for more easily serviceable fuel tanks "related." Really though, I took the job because it was decent pay, they would hire me for the summer, and I had a connection there. I basically refueled jets, props, and turboprops, performed lav servicing (oh so pleasant), parked customer cars, and brought out CIP (coffee, ice, papers) to every pilot in the metroplex (maybe an exaggeration). It was a business airport, so we had private traffic as well as customers for our charter fleet.
