  1. Long maned Roseluck is best Roseluck, but I still say Lily is better.

Hmm, I respect your opinion. :3 So, I guess you could say that.

  2. A white bishop and a black king. Skewer is literally my ponysona, and I am in fact an avid chess player; I've played the game since third grade.
  3. Too much crude jokes. We need some variety here. What is the strategy most ponies often use in warfare? Flanking maneuvers. Roseluck wasn't particularly happy when she found out that her garden equipment were soiled. The only shipping I see everypony doing is cargo transportation. I was playing a game of poker with a stallion, but he forfeited after he found out I was "straight". Luna's restaurant failed because it had no atmosphere. I expected a rimshot, by the way, but Photo Finish gave me a snapshot instead.
  4. OOC: http://mlpforums.com/topic/69134-the-caballus-rebellion-ooc/?p=1722199 Ponyville, July 14, 1158 Skewer took a sip of his coffee, carefully grasping his mug and reminding himself not to intake too much of his espresso this time. He trembled briefly from the last time he drank a cup of coffee. Skewer remembered it vividly; the insides of his stomach ached like an explosion was imminent, his head felt overheated, and to make matters worse, he spilled his coffee onto himself, the liquid burning himself painfully. He stopped the memory right there. No distractions. The seventeen year old colt continued reading his book regarding chess openings, flipping the page. That's when he knew why he was in the cafe, located in the lesser populated parts of Ponyville, in the first place. Skewer needed to escape from Cloudsdale for sometime. Some of his friends from his school were mentioning of open defiance of the government. A protest the previous day had occurred in the east part of Cloudsdale; apparently the industrial area of the city. It wasn't very big, in fact, it was just a small group of "anarchic" fanatics, or as some of them claimed. Some of the guards were sent out to force the ponies back home. Skewer didn't like the sound if it. It seemed like these days these protests were happening more and more often. A month before, an all out riot happened on Seaside, a coastal area in Hoofington. Sections of roads were destructed, along with their buildings. Some of them were stolen from, vandalized, and even set ablaze. It was a rampage. He was quite thankful that the incidents happening in Cloudsdale were minimal contrasted to the events happening in the Southland. Skewer bit his lip, closing his book despite that he did not complete reading his chapter. I should have paid more attention to not messing up my coffee...
  5. Fluttershy x Fleur De Lis. This pairing is extremely rare but I've seen a few execute it quite well in fanfiction. Daisy x Roseluck: Someone do this please. Berry Pinch x Pina Colada: We're shipping fillies now? Pegasus Guard x Unicorn Guard: We will never know their names, but I'm sure you all want this. Peachbottom x Harshwhinny: Both of you. Kiss now.
  6. Within days, all of humankind will be the minions of Discord. And the lord of chaos doesn't have to move a finger, because we're already doing it. It's like magic, only Discord isn't doing it.
  7. So I'll add some more. "Super" Powers: I don't really like this, it gives an OC an unfair advantage. It would be a bit better if it had a weakness or a cost to it, like healing a pony by transferring the damage to yourself. Extreme Speed: Overused, and it just appears lazy if you claimed that your pegasus can do a Sonic Rainboom and is 2nd place, behind Rainbow Dash. Rainbow Dash isn't confirmed that she is the fastest pony of Equestria (as only Dash herself claimed so), and only she can do the Sonic Rainboom, and no one else. Don't compare yourself to Rainbow Dash. It is fine, however, if you say that your OC can fly fast or is a professional flyer of such. Bat Wings: Only Luna's guards have this. Whoever wasn't part of Luna's guards shouldn't have bat wings. Sharp Teeth: Ponies are herbivores, they don't have sharp teeth because they're not eating meat. Bi-color Coat OCs: The only acceptable reason for this is if your OC is like Pipsqueak, who has spots around his coat. Spots and markings are fine, but it is not if used in a patterned matter.
  8. Snowfall: I've used it, along with another fourteen people and counting. Daisy: Funny part is that it's a background name. Spark: Could probably see a bunch of reasons why. <insert human name here>: Nikolai, Elliot, Eric, Aaron, Mark. Stuff like that. Spectrum: Also a background pony, but you probably won't know him anyway. Neon: DJ OCs use this name a lot. Autumn: Either used solely or added with another word. Rapid Fire: Wonderbolt; mostly used for pegasi OC or OCs related to firearms. Primrose: The variation of Roseluck! Just kidding. Aurora/Borealis: The former is an OC from Rainbow Factory; both are often used. Inferno: Fire solves everything. Glitter: Refer to Inferno. Solaris/Polaris: Good enough. Emerald/Sapphire: I think this is better for Crystal Ponies. Constellation

  10. Anyways, I will first question on how I am a pony, let alone the opposite sex. After I got the basics down, which is attempting to walk on all four and try not to blow my cover, I'll try to find a way to go back to my normal form while trying to live out an overall typical life. Probably within a few days I'll be discovered, adopted, and off to school.
  11. Then again, OCs are not meant to be perfect. They're supposed to have faults, and if you meant that the OC characterization is "perfect", I would say there is no definite scale for "perfect".
  12. On the other hand, it's also beneficial. In real life, most people can't settle down on a talent even when they have reached adult age. A cutie mark at a young age can help and usually concludes that it is your confirmed talent. Your occupation doesn't have to relate to your cutie mark, but it does give a path to follow.
  13. I somehow don't like myself being a critic, but it looks like the wing is in the wrong place, and it's actually a pair of wings. Try to draw one on the other side. I also think it's better to use vector wings.
  14. A bit off topic, but firearms in MLP ARE plausible, but they would appear differently or used less commonly. It would still be okay if say, earth ponies and unicorns were using those breech-loading or even lever/bolt-action rifles. I tend to see Equestria fall in the Victorian or Edwardian era. (compared to Earth) Back on topic, cutie marks related to military weapons should be avoided at all times. A fencing sword or rapier could be fine, or if you want your talent to be related to firearms, use something else (like a bow and arrow) to imply that.
  15. If I were to call you a name, I would call you...Leet Trivia? I don't know, I haven't settled on it yet!
  16. Honestly, it would utter...discord. Things will immediately go sideways, and the ponies would be caught in all the craziness; some popular ones would be victims. They would also be quite scared of such an alien creature, which would probably also lead to ponies running away or hiding. Most likely the humans will be told to leave whatever place they are in and go to various towns or cities to survive. They would have to immediately take vaccines and such for precautions. A decrease of resources will occur. By the way people, I don't believe the bronies would try to force shipping or do their "fandom" stuff; the ponies, to them, are real. They are actual and have the rights of privacy and such. But, the nature of humans and ponies are different, so worst case scenario is that crime will increase. My first actions will be to run away to Trottingham, Hoofington, Manehattan, or other cities. As they're farther located from Equestria, the "human" population there will be smaller and therefore less conflict. I would still have the deal with the society, however.

  18. Better yet, make your OC's talent a random hobby in life. Mine is golf, chess, stage magic, poetry, billiards, cartography, calligraphy, etc. I think that's a better way to start building your OC, rather than pick a typical talent from your OC. Roleplaying isn't about conformity, it's about variety. Think up of a talent people are less likely going to use. Speaking of music... jazz and ragtime, anyone?

  21. Dark genre OCs aren't bad, but they have to be wisely executed to be ideal. They should also be limited to roleplays that do not follow MLP canon, since their history does not fit the atmosphere of Equestria, let alone MLP.
  22. Corporal Patch. > Has red cross on shirt and flank TEMPLAR CONFIRMED (Welcome to MLPForums, by the way.)
  23. Berry Worthy. Sounds like a beverage brand. I think I'll just stick to my own OC names for now... "Berry Worthy, the beer can containing only 0.01% of alcohol, but with the same taste as typical alcohol!"
  24. 1. Applejack 2. Pinkie Pie 3. Shady Daze 4. Princess Celestia 5. Diamond Tiara 6. Sea Swirl (Combo breaker!) 7. Dust Devil 8. Cherry Berry 9. Babs Seed 10. Applebloom Trixie, Twilight, and Apple Bumpkin does come close, to give them some credit.
  25. As a long-term roleplayer, I'll say some of them. I don't actually hate them, but I recommend they shouldn't be used, unless you are experienced and have the capability to pull it off. Physical or mental disabilities: Not only is this overused, but it is often misused that it is literally an insult to the people that do have such a disability. Most OCs I see with this are usually "helpless, insecure, and rejected". Usually blindness and/or dementia are the disabilities that are most often *mis*used, from my point of view. Having an OC centered at their disability does not make your OC "better"; instead, it'll be seen as a way for your OC to gain sympathy and cause drama. (unless you're intending for your OC to intentionally act that way) A disabled OC can STILL be a decent OC, just as long as you try not to center it on his or her disability. In my opinion, it would be much more plausible if the OC simply coped with the problem, allowing his or her disability to be a small issue in life. Dead parents: Also overused, and generally seen as lazy in an application. It is, however, perfectly fine if a parent passed away, but chances are, the OC had already carried on with his or her life rather than mourning for his or her dead parent. Outcast: If one fact is correct for this show, it is that ponies do NOT act like complete bullies and reject your OC. Yes, I know that Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon do act mean to the CMC, but it does not justify your OC being unaccepted by society. Extreme Introvert: If your OC won't interact with anyone, then you should really stop roleplaying. Roleplaying means collaboration, not hiding yourself in solitude. Relations with Main or Supporting Ponies in the Show: This makes you act like a fanboy/girl, along with restricting the people who either want to apply or already applied for that character, stagnating the cast pony's development. Same color: Not very appealing; I advise people who are creating OC appearances to use different colors for mane/tail, coat, and eyes. Saturated colors should be avoided at all times, including red and black. Same mane/tail as the Mane 6: Again, very uncreative and lazy. Don't do this.
