I think it's a horrible nerd stereotype that this still happens; when I say I want mac for the specific reasons.

And I always get a lecture why I'm wrong. The fact that I can program and know more about computer software

so have made informed decisions always gets ignored. It's like the PC versus console debate, yeah PC has nicer graphics

but 80% less games, that's why consoles sell more.

Well, not sure how related that is, but I can program too; I have been doing commercial 2D and 3D graphics on PC for quite some time and PC was always great for me. I was not trying to lecture you, just sharing my opinion in an honest attempt to save you money. But if you believe you have a reason to buy a Mac, what do I know. Maybe it is really the best for you.

It is pretty related since I'm getting a mac specific to my field of interest and not for say the shinier display.

I want to use Coda 2 and Final Cut Pro X for web design/development and high end video editing. I can't get that software on PC. Add into that I am sick of Windows constant updates and all the maintaining and what not.I know how to do everything on a Windows Pc but I find it tedious and clunky. I want maximum efficiency that' why I want mac.
