It is. I was just thinking about the cost and how much prospective students under-fund themselves, then having to suspend all their training halfway when they need to keep going. You need to keep learning to fly an airplane until you can at least remember it like flying a bicycle. Of course after that it's important to stay proficient and going up with an instructor if your experience lapses too much.

Oh the certificate never expires, but there are some limitations to your privileges in which, 1 you cannot carry passengers without having at least completed 3 takeoff and landings within the past 90 days (aircraft-specific too), and you must complete a flight review every 2 years, starting when you earn your certificate or obtain a new one.
