  1. If you're thinking that, no. I'm not a Nostalgiafag, hater, troll or anything else. I admit there are excellent movies such as Maleficent and How to train your dragon 1 and 2,  master pieces undoubteldy (At least, for me). I really didn't think there were going to be an outstanding production among lots and lots of shitty remakes or non-original movies. There was no reason for producing Transformers 4, in fact I don't wanna talk about that.

Really, I'm losing my hopes on cinema because most of the feature films are cliché, stereotyped and with nothing new. They almost destroyed my childhood with Godzilla's remake, and I say almost because the special effects, the new monsters and the current Godzilla design liked me at all. Rest of the movie, except the sporadic battles, is horrible. I mean, am I watching Godzilla or the MrGeneric's melancholy? It seems the director didn't bother in studying and analyzing what made Godzilla so popular (You can correct me if I'm wrong).

Back to the topic, most of nowadays movies are boring and bad. I'm going to show you with a dramatization.

    Dramatization

    Chraracter one: Boss

    Character two: Employer 1

    Character three: Employer 2

Situation 1: A guy sents a story written by him to Hollywood

Boss: "Well, gentlemen. Any ideas for a new movie?"

Emp.1: "Well, I propose a story which a 19 aged guy wrote sent to me. It's pretty awesome, it has content we've never seen before."

    Boss: "Does it has aliens?"

    Emp.1: "No"

    Boss: "Zombies?"

    Emp.1: "No"

    Boss: "Any vampires?"

    Emp.1: "No"

Boss: "Then we have nothing to discuss..."

Emp.2: "I read this book's prologue and my brother in law says it's good. We can adapt this book to current times and change the ending for make it more commerical"

    Boss: "Perfect!"

    Situation 2: Action movies

Boss: "Any proposal for action movies?"

Emp.1: "What if we make a movie where we explain every action scene giving it a why and a where?"

    Boss: "Don't like it"

Emp.2: "I propose to make a movie where the plot has no importance, but the CG, the explosions, the shoots with the best actors included"

Boss: "I really like it! Accepted!"

Emp.2: "No wait! I think three movies for Ironman aren't enough"

Boss: "Excellent, we have to do a fourth! You're in charge of  creating a completely stupid and unnecessary plot"

    Situation 3: Romance movies

Emp.1:"What if two persons have a crush each other but then a problem emerge and the girl decides to leave him?"

    Boss: "Good, not bad. Then?"

Emp.1: "Then...nothing. The girls marries with another guy and the dude figures out that she's not the only woman worldwide."

Boss: "Horrible. Don't like it. Another proposal?"

Emp.2: "What if at the end he runs streets trying to reach her, he declares his love to her, she is delighted about this and decides to marry him and having a lotta children?"

Boss: "That idea is better. Add a car and it's perfect"

    Situation 4: Comic superheroes

Emp.1: "What about a DeadPool movie? People already know it and feel identified with the character. Besides, an anti-hero would be very attractive..."

Emp.2: "I wanna produce the very first Superman movie but with CG"

Boss: "Excellent, you gotta think like him (Emp.2)"

Do you get my point? I don't know if Hollywood is out of ideas or if this became more commercial than ever being this the "Fanfiction Era"; a name I gave to the actual movies. Really, seeing a movie now is the equivalent of reading a fanfic in Internet. I've found fanfics which have more sense than actual movies.

    Anyway. What do you think?

  2.

I don't see anything wrong with globalization

I never said globalization was something bad. I'm a supporter of it.

Um, why?  We might require more food because flight takes a lot of energy, but the rest of our industries really wouldn't be affected

Flight takes a lot of energy. And that energy would requiere natural sources. So, that means over-exploitation of oil, coal, etc.

I don't see how flying would change that.

Imagine a Germany with high developed airships who can cross the Atlantic Ocean just as Hindenburg blimp did 17 times and it has bombs and turrets inside it with which could destroy half New York or Washington.

  3. The very first time I saw the pegasi in the series I recovered an old childhood's thought: How would be the world if we could fly?

I'm still trying to construct that thought of mine being as realistic as possible, but I can expose some points. If we could fly:

-The "New World" could be discovered before 1492. Maybe in 900 or 1100.

-Globalization would be like the nowadays situation by the 19th century.

-Navigation and automotive industries would be non-existent. There would be only aviation industry.

-We would exploit resources twice that we'd do it without wings.

-The world would be in real jeopardy for the World War I and II could be really cruel, bloody and destructive.

That's what I still have clear, I can be wrong though. In short, our lives would be harder and dangerous turning our existences in an aunthetic "Hell on Earth" (Note: I'm not pesimistic, I'm just trying to be realistic) If you want to see another point about this "flying issue" then take a look on this link:

    http://listdose.com/top-10-things-fly/

    Anyway, what do you think?

    Agree or disagree?

What kind of fact would you add to this list?

  4. First let see what's a patriarchy. We can resume patriarchy as a system in which the male is the center of every political, economic and social issues.

Now, its counterpart, the matriarchy is a system where the same things above-mentioned apply to the female being this the head of everything. Thus, we can say the Equestria's government is logic for the equines are a species where there's a lead mare, not a stallion. This could be logic as well if the series had the name of "My Little Hyena" (applied to spotted hyenas).

Throughout the human history we could appreciate most of leaders were men and women were considered an object, rather than a person in past times. Even with the growing respect the women have been gaining, we can see the men's wage in the enterprises is bigger than the women's wage.

So, taking into account the fact that horses/ponies and spotted are natural matriarcal-organized organisms. Could we affirm we are a species where the male, by natural rule, is the absolute boss of everything? Or, with the current social advances, had we become a both sexes species?

(No, I'm not male chauvinist nor sexist if you're wondering about that).

  5.

You just can't have gore in a kid's show. If they ever do that, no more MLP. The parents would sue Hasbro, and they would get so many complaints that they would have to cancel the show. Go write fan fiction about it, we don't care if you write about Rainbow Dash/Pinkamena killing off every pony in Cloudsdale/Ponyville.

    1. I didn't say I wanted gore. I said I wanted it to have more intrigue now that Twilicorn is princess/mandatary with topics that  (I liked Twilicorn, by the way).

2.Yeah, parents sue...but sue for everything. They sue GTA, Final Fantasy, etc.

    3. No thanks, I'd prefer to write a book rather writing a fanfic.

  6. Sure thing, put war, destruction, violence, despair and death in a show targeted for little kids!

Well, Avatar the last airbender had a war as the main topic of its plot, there were scenes of violence, destruction (villages burning up) and, obviously, there were deaths without showing them in screen.

Besides, King Sombra was killed with the crystal heart, we saw him exploding in pieces and that's violent.

  7.

I'm not sure what the point of this thread is, since you put your opinion out there, but said that you don't care about the opinions of others, so did you want to have a discussion or not? Were you simply looking for a reaction from the fan base(trolling)?

    No, I'm not a troll.

When I said "If you agree good, if you don't I don't care" I wasn't trying to troll anybody. I just wanted to express my standpoint. I was saying this:"If you disagree it's OK, dude. No problem. Excellent if you liked it. Relax, no problem."

Would you please leave that extremism? I just wanna discuss with all of you. Sorry if I wasn't clear. I don't wanna troll anybody.

  8. When I said "If you agree good, if you don't I don't care" I wasn't trying to troll anybody. I just wanted to express my standpoint. I was saying this:"If you disagree it's OK, dude. No problem. Excellent if you liked it. Relax, no problem."

  9. I'm glad some of you tolerate my standpoint.

I think you just want to dislike it, personally, probably because of Twilicorn. Refusing to see new horizons is the way I'd describe it.

It seems you got me wrong. I liked the Twilicorns idea, but not the way like Hasbro developed it. I mean, if you are one of the few who rule Equestria then you have to treat topics like poverty, war, political tensions, etc. Even if you think this is for kids it doesn't mean you can't take it to new horizons. The chid is innocent, but that doesn't mean he's stupid for not understanding real life problems; and those problems could be shown and exploted in this show.

The first episode wasn't good because it wasn't your fan fiction idea?

No, I don't like writing fanfics. Moreover, I'd prefer writing a book than a fanfiction.

  10. When I though the series couldn't be get worse with Equestria Girls, appeared a mediocre season 4.

    Let me explain myself:

I didn't care the Twilicorn issue, because if it was hasty it could be used to increase series' potential. How? Well, now that Twilight is another mandatary her first work as a princess could be trying to negotiate with another country, who could be the hypothetical Equestria's archnemesis (Like the relation USA-USSR).

In the first two episodes could be schemed an scenario like this: an extremist colonel/general from that Equestria's archnemesis country sends spies for stealing the elements of harmony and threat the Equestrian government announcing that if they don't hand over Manehattan, the Crystal Empire, Yanhoover and their outskirts to them, they shall use these elements of harmony and other weapons to turn Equestria in a desert.

Thus, the rest of the season would be about Twilight gaining time while her friends  and Discord try to recover the elements and with them kill that extremist colonel/general and the soldiers who share with him that warmongering nature. Princesses Celestia, Cadence and Luna would see if there's no informants inside Equestria's borders. Even with the end of this problem, there would be material for using in the 5th season

Sounds like a good story, isn't it? But no, we had to stand a two-part flashback where anormal seeds- not the Everfree Forest- grow and try to expand and appear an unnecesary tree which is the origin of elements, a bunch of bored Slice of Life episodes where you can see the word fanservice everywhere (Episode Power Ponies) and a finale which we can affirm it's a pseudo-plagiarism of some Dragon Ball episiodes.

Love triangles, bat ponies, a colt who wants to compete with Pinkie Pie for determinate who organize the best party, an event which is a cheap copy of the Olympic Games....wee...yay....What's next? A plagiarism from the FIFA World Cup?

See what's my point? Since Magical Mystery Cure and Equestria Girls we're observing how this series is decaying slowly for turning, probably in the long-term, in another Spongebob. If you agree with me good, if not I don't care for it's your standpoint after all.

All I can say is: enjoy this series now that you can, for it will become completely forgettable in the next decades.

  11. Space travel is one of the mankind's greatest ambitions. Many of us have dreamed on traveling thorugh the vaccum of space and meet other sapient species (you know: aliens with advenced technology). But, what would happen if mankind meet a sapient species who's, let's see, in its 15th or 17th century?

I saw the James Cameron's movie: Avatar. 'Twas a cool movie with an interesting plot, but with the great flaw of "love story". The human falls in love with alien princess and subsequent stuff (this is my standpoint, by the way). Since I saw that film I though in the question previously written, then I remembered the fact that the Jupiter's sixth moon, Europa, has live that, possibly, could evolve into sapient beings. By the time that happens, we could be a more advanced civilization (maybe one of Type III).

So, if it was up to you: what option would you stick for our relations with these sapient beings less advanced than us?

  12. Many of us have different likes when it comes to reading a story or watching series/movie, ones stick with imagination, others stick with reality. Of course, I'm referring to the issue Constructed world vs. Real world, from whose also the Anthro inhabitants vs. Human inhabitants.

    Contructed world: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ConstructedWorld

    Anthros: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/FurryConfusion

Some say real story based stories are better than those which take place on an invented world created by a "person with a lot of free time" and others say that constructed worlds' stories are amazing and more intriguing, for they consider real world's stories are "boring". And of course it can shunt in a furry and no-furry debate about which one is better.

Things like story's complexity and the action of the characters influence on the reader or viewer's opinion, but at the end he/she will take in account these two factors: Constructed world vs. Real world, and anthro inhabitants vs. human inhabitants.

So, which ones you stick with? Which ones make, for you, an excellent story?

  13. Many of us know Equestria is a magical land (it's said in the beginning), but due gadgets' presence throughtout the series we've been wondering about MLP's rightful epoch.

For a good exposing of my theory, I need you to check out on these links:

    http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/MagicalLand

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/MedievalEuropeanFantasy (In this one, click on Western Animation only)

According to this link, ponykind is still in its Renaissance time. Now, considering this and the fact we're on 21st century, I can suppose the time they reach to their very own 21st century we'd be already on our 27th or 28th century (2600-2700). In other words, we would be a Type I civilization already, while ponykind would still remain on Type 0 category.

If you don't know what that means look here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kardashev_scale

Now, how did those gadgets appeared in Equestria then?

Well, we can say that the same logic of Zero no Tsukaima: Human technology was accidentaly summoned or teleported to Equestria for X, Y or Z reason.

So do you agree or not?

  14. Since we were kids and tuned in our favourite TV program we've heard things like: "Bwahahahahaha...!"

Sometimes it was funny, sometimes it was boring. Yes, I'm talking about the evil laugh: the stereotypical villain's trait.

Mayhap some of you find it funny, but in my case I loathe it. I mean, it's as stupid as a villain revealing his/her evil plan to the hero/ines. I really can't get why in any story, the writers have to include the evil laugh.

And the excuse: "It's a show meant to children" is worthless. Since I know, every child mocks at any show, foremost, because of the evil laugh and argue they don't like it. Which give me the idea that some studios have a stereotypical idea on how children perceive the reality or they just want to tease on them.

Unless you are creating a Harmless villain evil laugh could be considered partially useful, but it doesn't fit in other type of villain. For me, a real villain, a true bastard, an authentic scoundrel has no evil laugh. In short, evil laughs are useless and don't have any important role on building a villain.

Harmless villain link (if you're interested): http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/HarmlessVillain

    Well, what do you say?

  15. When we're creating a story of any genre (for some schoolwork or just for mere fun) the names of our characters are one of the main issues on it. I mean, no one wants to give a weird or stupid name to its main character(s).

    Therefore, we have two options:

    1. To turn to any random words of any language and use it as name and surname. Ex: Rainbow Dash (obviously) or Rarity.

    2. To use real names for our characters depending on its nationality. Ex: Afonso (from Portuguese), Abe (from English), Adolfo (from Spanish) or Aldric (from French).

If you were writing a fictitious/fantastic story, what option you'd stick with?

  16. Many of us know that Celestia and Luna had lived more than thousand years. But I wonder myself: What would be the reason for their supposed inmortality?

Well, I came up with a mini-theory that could explain that. And I did it by using Gregg the Grim Reaper from Conker: Live and Reloaded.

    It starts like this:

Possibly, in their teenager years, both future princesses had a mortal accident while they were flying falling on the floor and supposedly died.

So, like Conker, thay finished in afterlife dimenson and dialogue between them would be like this:

Gregg: "Celestia, Luna, you are dead. You'de pretty dead. Yes, you're dead, young ladies. Dead as a...(megaphone break down) I can't believe this fucking shit is always giving me problems. How am I supposed to seem scary? (He stares at Celestia and Luna) Greetings, Gregg's the name. I'm the Grim Reaper. Don't laugh!"

Celestia: "Aren't you supposed to look like a pony?"

Gregg: "Well, excuse me for not fullfilling your expectatives, doll face. Why should I look like a pony?"

Luna: "We suppose thou art right"

Gregg: "Now, let's see. (The Grim Reaper's list appear befor him) Celestia...and Luna. Species?"

    Luna: "Alicorns"

Gregg: "Alicorns. Oh, bloody hell", both of you would have to be sodding alicorns, wouldn't you?"

Celestia: "What's the problem about that?"

Gregg: "Yeah, you two are worse than the shitty undead. Those smelly goddamn things are a pain in the arse. As the cats, you two are of those special cases. Well, a very special case, actually"

    Celestia: "What do you mean?"

Gregg: "Since I don't get paid for this job and just follow the rules, the alicorns can live for much lives as they desire without any restriction. Same shit goes for draconeqqus as well."

Luna: "Interesting, so we're not dead at all."

Gregg: "You're dead, but not quite."

Celestia: "Well, if that's the thing I suppose we're leaving now."

Gregg: "Stand still, smart arses. I'm not done yet. You may live for many years, but that doesn't save you from dead. If you let your powers get tainted, it would make you vulnerable enough to die. So, if you two want to live peacefully I advise you to create a very peaceful environment. The way you could get it it's up to you. If you make it, I'm bounded to add an extra life to yours. Understood?"

(Both princesses stared to each other and nod)

Luna: "Well, it's something pretty weird, but OK."

Gregg: "Weird? It's the best bloody deal you could ever agreed, you little twats. Right, piss off now. I've got some cats to see. Bloody things. I hate those stupid cats, the way they meow and piss everywhere and left an accurst smell..."

(Celestia and Luna get back to life)

Well, what do you say? Agree? Disagree?

What would you edit in the dialogue?

  17. In MLP, Harry Potter, and even anime series like Sailor Moon we've got characters with magical powers and stuff.

In DC Comics, Marvel and others we've got a bunch of dudes with superpowers saving the day because "yes" and without asking some cash in exchange.

And in movies like 007 we've got heroes like James Bond: an spy with a conservative thinking but prtty awesome when kicking butts time arrive.

Yeah, the hero is the good guy who always save the day from the world's doom, an evil organization, or even going through an wardrobe-like portal for getting to an alternate world to beat a witch and become the king because he is the "chosen one".

I don't know you, but this whole thing of "good guy" sounds quite stereotypical to me. I mean, the story turns bored if the main character has no interesting backstory and only spread "good and justice" because he/she is "altruistic".

Don't get me wrong, I know there's altruistic people around the globe, but let's face it: it's necessary to turn 180 grades the main character for creating an interesting character. Because if the hero is boring, the villain will be boring as well.

That "good and justice" stuff is outmoded (at least for me).

Anyway, what do you say? Agree? Disagree? Why? Why not?

  18. Conker's Bad Fur Day along with its remake Conker: Live & Reloaded were, undoubtedly, excellent and funny games. Its black humour never turns ridiculous and it always fit into every level's context.

But, what would happen if your favourite character(s) end(s) up in this gross, but comic world?

What kind of scenarios would take place? And, in what place or what Conker's character?

If you don't know about the game I left you these links:

    Part 1:

    Part 2:

    Part 3:

    Part 4:

    Part 5:

An example: "I could imagine AppleJack getting in the barn on "Barn Boys" level and trying to hit the Haybot with her hoofs while Franky the Pitchfork does it from behind."

What scenario would you imagine? And, with what character?

    • Brohoof 1
  19. You're bored, pretty bored, and nothing better pass through your mind than walking to movie theater, turn on your TV or read a book.

After you read the book or saw the movie/TV series you're thinking: "Whoa, this is incredible. I'll remember this story for a long time". But now imagine other outcome: "No, what the heck was this thing? It's pretty stupid and every character just talk twaddle."

Do you ever felt this way?

Well, the good-bad story issue obviously depends on each individual's standpoint, but that doesn't mean there's no common denominators like: deep characters, intrigue, etc. And of course, the literary genre carry weight on opinions.

Let's admit it, entertainment world is slowly getting rotten: there's almost only superhero's movies (I don't have problem if you like it), terror movies lack thereof, and "Action" movies have no realistic violence but a choreographed violence: a rubber violence. Only few exceptions in animated world are acceptable.

So, if there was an "Excellent Story" manual which could help on creating new creative series/movies for eluding remakes after remakes, what would you personally include in it?

Think on the "possible future talents" from coming decades and share here what makes an excellent story according to you.

If you want you can make a list.

    • Brohoof 1
  20. Throughout the course of the series we've seen the next villains:

    - NightMare Moon

    - Discord

    - Queen Chrysalis

    - King Sombra

    - Sunset Shimmer

    - Dr. Caballeron

    - Suri Polomare

We love them and hate them at the same time. They've been essential for the series and a headache for main or secondary characters.

Now, I don't know if it's your case but in mine I think that series could get even cooler it is whether the correct type of villain is introduced. What kind of villain?: Creepy Child or Enfant terrible.

That's right. A maniacal, evil, ruthless, mysterious and cunning child/children is what the series could use to increase its audience and, at the same time, give the CMC their very own really stories and be a nightmare for Mane 6 and, maybe, for princesses as well (At least from my standpoint).

"But wait, aren't Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon supposed to be the little bad brats on the show?"

Yeah, that's true; but many of us know they're so unimportant that they barely appear as, at least, cameos in many episodes. In short, both of them fall into the trope "Kids are cruel" meaning they're just a couple of misbehavioured brats whose unique role is bullying others.

    Really, you'd settle for that?

A foal villain/s would make interesting changes if he/she/they is/are like the Delightful Children From Down The Lane from Codename: KND, or The Infant from Inuyasha, or like The three espers from AKIRA, or like Eric Cartman from South Park, and I can suggest and suggest psycho children for hours.

In other words, the series is pretty good but a foal villain/s could make it more interesting.

Here are the links from above-mentioned tropes:

    - Enfant Terrible: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/EnfantTerrible

    - Creepy Child: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/CreepyChild

    - Kids are Cruel: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/KidsAreCruel

Well, what do you say? Agree? Disagree? Anything else you'd like to share? What name you'd give to he/she/them?

    • Brohoof 1
  21. Well, taking in account humans have no wings or magic, but a great intelligence and a capacity of creating and/or improving gadgets I would describe their relationship toward different types of ponies from my standard point:

    - Relation with Earth ponies: Close relation

The earth ponies could feel themselves very identified with humans in many senses.

    - Relation with Pegasi: Stable relation

This would be a relationship based only in respect and tolerance, for pegasi could feel certain superiority on humans about the flying issue.

    - Relation with Unicorns: Strained relation

The human machinery is good enough to vying with unicorns' magic. Then, it could be a mistrusting relationship.

    - Relation with Alicorns: Really strained relation.

The four alicorns could feel certain suspiciousness and mistrust on humans, possibly, getting to the point of mutual hate.

We can say this occurs some time after analyzing human behaviour or before analyzing it. Whichever comes first.

Now, are you agree with this? If you're not, then you can make your own list describing the relationship of different types of ponies toward humans.
