There is a points earned per day limit. That means you lose value in posts that were posted after the limit is reached. I didn't do the system myself but I was hoping for it to be as simple as possible. I mean, a hidden limit doesn't stop spamming or low quality posting.

I don't think you reached that limit though, so there could be other factors. I remember other members being mad about the 1750 rank being gone or something similar, but that was months ago. Could be a points change for that rank itself.
