Well, it seems the game has planet classes with few life forms and such, but it's so random that you'll get lifeless earth-like planets and irradiated rocks full of T-rex sized animals.

That's one wonderful logic. But I guess that's what happens when developer rushes game in order to milk gamers as fast as possible.

It's called a "procedurally generated world". Weird stuff is bound to happen from time to time, but it seems thet some portiones of the procedure are rather... uninspired. I'm talking animals put together from different pre-made parts at random. I tell you, I saw a huge dinosaur with nasty teeth and the scan tells it eats insects and is a total scaredycat.
