      In my case dodging was definitely not enough. I managed to dodge most of his attacks, but he still had some that were pretty hard for me to evade and eventually led to me being killed. Still... this is the price I had to pay in order NOT to fat roll with Havel Shield:

      I am yet to meet him, but Pontiff pummeled me at least 40-50 times before I killed him. And before him I took down 4 bosses in a row in one try.

      I had real issues with Pontiff, because I kept trying to keep him at distance and apperantly that triggered his *I have over 9000 stamina* combo. Ironically his 2nd phase despite looking like a nightmare turned out to be easy.

      To be honest I am dreadful player with controler. I've been trying to learn playing with it for over a year and I still was simply poor. And I played Uncharted, which is pretty easy game in the first place. If that game beat me then I won't even try Dark Souls XD
