  1. @@Stolen OC, Certainly, I felt I was noticing that stories were becoming isolated, barely relating to the previous episode, it also felt like the stories were becoming recycled, almost interchangeable, each episode was becoming less memorable, even the songs, I can not even quote from the show anymore, it feels to me that the show is unwilling to take risks, to go outside of the usual settings. At this point nothing will interest me again, I have found new energy with the furry fandom, waiting to be explored, artwork yet to be made, books yet to be published, the curiosity is enticing me to participate, and find others who want to participate, so the furry fandom is where I call home.
  2. I can not speak for the fandom, but for me, my interest in ponies and bronies has dissipated, instead my fan activity has been with my original fandoms: furries and MSTies. After Zootopia was released, the furry fandom sprung to life, bring new art and imagination, I experienced with bronies in 2013, I also got my first fursona, I commissioned an artist and finally got it in November, my character connected me to other furries, on Google and Facebook, now we are in the process of becoming friends. Zootopia took up most of my attention in 2016, I forgot about season six of MLP, I missed the premiere and finale, as my interest in Friendship is Magic has lost much of its lustre. I was a furry before I was a brony, and I nearly left the brony fandom many times, because of creative differences and preferences I wanted from the show, ultimately I may actually leave the fandom, Zootopia came at just the right time, when MLP seemed to me getting stale, as the mane six have been developed over and over again, and much of Equestria was unexplored, so Zootopia became my new obsession, it has variety like settings and characters, it's creative and inspirational, and I was not the only one who recognised that, it has been fun to chat with furries on Google, this year I hope to meet them in real life, and go to a furry convention, this euphoria is exciting, sadly MLP does not excite me anymore, only time will tell if I can remain a brony, but to me it's no loss, I still have a good time as a brony, I am just moving on, finding new things and rediscovering my old roots.
  3. Yes, Zootopia wins a Golden Globe Award.

  4. If I can have recommendation, if you have a Deviantart page, I recommend H-stallionwolf, he just completed my fursona, drawn Zootopia style, it is a commissioned artist, so you would have to pay, I payed fifty dollars, but H-stallionwolf did a great job on my character, check him out.
  5. Absolutely, PM me anytime, I'll try to answer it expediently, and as well as I can, nevertheless, this has been a great conversation.
  6. @@Steel Accord, Chinese, Korean, Japanese and Vietnamese are very human centric, so rarely think of supernatural superstitions, because to them, human success can be observed, natural phenomenons can be explained, like floods and earthquakes, instead of saying it was the will of the gods. Humanity is neither good nor evil, both energy exists in everyone, it is symbolised in the taijitu, the yin and yang, the mark of greatness, it balancing the yin and yang, the dark and light, sometimes one element tries to overtake the other, causing stress and confusion, but this is caused by our choices and behaviour, so we must remind ourselves to stay balanced, the nighttime is not always completely dark; there is the moon or stars, the daytime always has shadows. The Tao reminds us that life is precious, it is when we treat life as cheap and expendable, does the imbalance occurs, leading to much harm, Taoism is about remind us where we came from, and to plant new roots ourselves, Confucius said once, "He who remembers the old lessons, and adds new knowledge is fit to be a leader."
  7. Meditation is the best route, for relieving stress and clearing the mind, the shaman I met in Daegu said, it's like restarting a computer, to clear up the data and focus. There is also Tai Chi, to help either the muscles to loosen up, or to relax the nerves at the end of the day, I learn Tai Chi back home in Houston, but in South Korea, there would be huge Tai Chi ceremonies, before they would go to work. The prayers that do exist are for honouring the ancestors, to give thanks to a family member for their love and success, thus encourage new family members to be equally loving and hardworking. This would take place at shrines, where tombstones are placed, there would be incense burning and paper folding, paper containing a poem, then would be placed like a ribbon next to the tombstone, in Taoism, prayer is for mourning, and is used for the living to remember their family member, and to be a better person, however music and songs are used for generating good faith and closeness with other people, traditional music, but it is really nice to hear a guzheng or a gayageum in person.
  8. I was born in October 1986, so I am a fire tiger, and a Libra, so I have double balance.
  9. Yes, of course, I can also share my experience with the Tao from South Korea, which is where I first learned about it.
  10. 5/10, half of the years was good, the remaining has been lousy. The good that occurred was Zootopia, the Jungle Book, my brother coming home from the army, spending the summer with my family, moving to Fredericksburg, Texas, my first fursona completed and my 30th birthday. The bad that occurred, was strep throat with an ear infection, my father became a curmudgeonly scrooge, the rise of populist authoritarianism with national collectivism, celebrity deaths, and environmental decline. It's at times like these we must be reminded who we truly are, no matter what obstacle we are presented, we all must have the courage and integrity to succeed, we are all unique individuals with similar goals, as long as we are focused on improvement, and phasing out what is obsolete, so use your freedom wisely.
  11. I am a furry and a brony, and happy to be both, although I have been a furry longer than a brony, my first character was a pegasus pony, just recently I go my first fursona, a Tibetan wolf, my commission was completed in November, and I am so happy to have my character completed. Both fandoms overlap each other, so I feel happy to have new friends from both fandoms, which gets me sentimental, we are not the first fandoms who overlap, like Star Trek and Stat Wars; Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings; and Battlefield and Modern Warfare, I also love western animation and anime, so to me it just means more to admire. After I saw Zootopia in March, I reinvigorated my interest in furries again, which was why I commissioned an artist on Deviantart to draw my first fursona, and Zootopia OC, I fell in love with the movie and it's habitat, the city was an architectural masterpiece, I felt just like Judy Hopps when she rode the train into the city, it was inspirational, just like when I first set my eyes on Equestria. I have been to both pony and furry conventions, I was not weird to me, after visiting foreign countries, I felt comfortable going to meet people, especially fans who have the same admiration for ponies and animals as I did, no one have ever been bothered that I was either a brony or a furry, so I got new friends and I had fun, which was my goal. I am happy to be in both fandoms, I feel happy to share my ponysona and fursona, as long as we are happy, it should not matter if our fandoms crossover, remember the elements of harmony.
  12. Does shamanism count? I have been with Chinese shamanism for decades now, after visiting Japan, Taiwan and South Korea, there was something about shamanism that attracted me, like living in peace with humanity and nature. I was born in the year of the fire tiger, at the moment of yang, the light, which gives me a lot of energy and spirit to do more, for myself and for my family, in addition to shamanism, I am also a Taoist and Confucian, as I try to find ways to create balance and harmony; wisdom and knowledge, for those willing to learn, to try to express their logic and emotions better than they ever had. This is what spirituality means to me, leaving nature to its design, at the same time, learn to appreciate your own nature, and how to interact with the environment peacefully, furthermore, to live in harmony with human diversity, it would be boring if we were all the same, as if we were bees or ants, we have to be free to express our unique personalities, which is what shamanism is to me, the freedom to gain wisdom from live on earth, including from humanity itself, just as Lao Tsu and Confucius have been try to tell us.
  13. I'm not a Christian, but I have Christians in my family, primarily Roman Catholic, instead I am shamanistic with Taoist and Confucian. Nevertheless, Christians do come to our temples to learn to be a better Christian, which is quite nice to experience, I use to be in reform Judaism, a very long time ago, after visiting Japan and South Korea, I came to admire Taoism and Confucianism, which are mostly philosophy rather than religion, Tao teaches harmony with nature and humans; Confucius teaches knowledge and wisdom, both have the goal of expressing happiness and peace, and providing hope that human beings could be more than what they are, for philosophy was created by humans, so Lao Tsu and Confucius showed their followers, what good human can do, rather than the bad we are capable of. My Little Pony Friendship is Magic has a lot of Confucian virtues: Ren, generosity, Yi, honesty, Li, loyalty, Zhi, knowledge, and Xin, kindness and happiness, plus Tao which teach friendship and harmony, these were the elements that attracted me to the ponies and the show itself, it surprised me that show with colourful magical ponies, could have this many layers, show each layer its colour, and how these layers strengthen each other, Taoism and Confucianism may have originated from ancient China, but they continue to inspire artists and worshippers, and I hope they will continue to bring peace to believer and non believer alike.
  14. I am optimistic for season seven, although I have little idea what it would compose of, I am eager to see many possibilities. One thing I wish to see is an ultimate villain showdown, with Queen Chrysalis fuming over the loss of her realm, she is simmering with a desire for revenge, so Chrysalis could team up with Tirek, who has his own grudge for the ponies, and to make things interesting they could bring back King Sombra, that could be a stellar set up for season seven. The mane seven would have to prepare for battle, all the while perform their civic duty to bring friendship to ponies and places that need it, I would also like to Scootaloo fly, now that she has her cutie mark, it would be nice to see her fly with Rainbow Dash, now that she is a Wonderbolt, finally, I think Celestia needs an episode of her own too, or at the very least, have an episode to both of the princesses, and how they interact with each other. What ever we get, I am fine with it, the seventh season still has potential, all they way to the MLP movie, moreover, I am still pleased with the direction the show is going, for there has been good moments, and I wish to be there with the fandom.
  15. Confucius says, " A person who seeks darkness, does not realise they have to pass through light, in order to reach the shadows."
  16. I don't know, their actions and behaviour is confusing, sometimes they do good, other times they cause harm, to the portions of the public they seem to support. The problem with Anonymous is the lack of central oversight, which means anyone can use Anonymous to go after the very people, who defend rights or uphold the law, the next big problem is the lack of neutrality, sometimes they attack only right wing, or only left wing sites, instead of both at the same time, it appears that there is a preference to support one, when the time is convenient, moreover, they seem to be more of a nuisance to the public, instead of the government or big business.
  17. I have been unemployed for a while now, I was a hospital corpsman in the navy, after my enlistment was over, I saw little employment opportunities left. I am at least a volunteer at a wolf sanctuary and the zoo, I do have a degree in zoology, and more than a decade of experience with animals, domestic and exotic. Despite this, zoology offers little employment opportunities, few people are willing to pour money into wild animals, kind of like the navy, most of the investment when to our weapons and leaders, leaving the enlisted with what's left over, you be surprised how little we got paid, compared to the officers, who were mostly rich academy guys, my brother found this out too, his enlistment in the army airborne just ended, and he has just a few dollars left, nevertheless, I do love working with animals, the wolves that I work with are gentle and energetic, that is something that money will never value, the affection of a majestic canine.
  18. Die Hard 1 and 2. Gremlins. Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer 1998. Annabelle's Wish. Niko and the Way to the Stars, plus Niko 2. Muppet Christmas Carol. Home Alone 1 and 2. How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
  19. Game of Thrones, I don't care much for European medieval stories, because there is so many medieval stories, they bore me, the violence can gets too much, and can ruin the story, instead I prefer Korean dramas, especially the historical dramas, that take place in the Joseon Dynasty, they are very much story and character based, and I love the soundtrack each drama has, Dong Yi and Deep Rooted Tree are my favourite. The Lion Guard, to me it feels like a fan fiction, on par with Double Rainboom or My Little Dashie, the plot is a mess and character development was shoddy, the recent episode has not helped either, we finally get an appearance of Zira and the outland pride, and the story was very shoehorned, which has only convinced me that the Lion Guard should have been a sequel to Simba's Pride, instead of the self inserted fan fiction on the first movie, I will admit it looks cute, but I still can not get invested. The Walking Dead, like medieval based stories, zombies are done to dead, every year we get zombie movies or TV, I could start a drinking game for all of the zombie cliches there are, from either TV or movie, which would help me stay awake, the Walking Dead is so boring to me, I can never stay awake through a whole episode, not even the action can keep me up, I think the Walking Dead would be better if it were short series, like a Korean drama. Sofia the First, if you need an example of a Mary Sue story, this one is the top of my list, she is so boring and insipid, she also seems like a passenger in the story, just going along with the flow, everything is too easy for her, as she is not being taught to led the citizens, instead she is being taught to indulge in her new status, to prove herself to other conceited nobility. Sofia is not like Twilight Sparkle, who had to work her way up, doing hard work to prove herself to her friends, which is better to me, Sofia could have been like Dong Yi, she worked hard and persevered with intelligence which earned her status in King Sukjong's court, that is something work remembering.
  20. No, Trumpy has relegated himself to a mere figurehead, our real president will be Mike Pence and the plethora of bureaucrats he's selected. It appears he will treat the presidency as a C.E.O., since he has selected hierarchy of bosses and managers, while this is okay for a business, this is not how government works, and it have drastic consequences, like corruption and abuse of power. This reminds me of Emperor Constantine, he made a bold statement that he will unite the western and eastern sides of the Roman Empire, return Rome to it's lost glory, and save the Roman moral fibre, but his greatness could not reverse the century of decline the empire had endured, forty years after his death, the empire split into east and west once again, the Romans suffered a defeat at Adrianople to the Goths, and Rome itself would be sacked by the Gothic king Alaric. Since Trumpy is at best a cheerleader, he is going to leave the hard work his team players, while the public is the spectators, so therein lies the problem. America will never be great again, as long as the citizens just fall for rhetoric and promises, hoping one leader can led a declining imperial power to greatness again, we have to make the country good again, we can not expect the government to do the work for us, much less Trump or Pence, for dinosaurs have elected fossils into public office, so we will get more of the same, instead of new ideas or energy, we have an anaemic imagination, relying too much on the past for solutions, rather than assess the current situation and act accordingly. All I can say is, have courage and remain positive, stand up to defend your rights, conquer division and hate, let those who want to play Game of Thrones in government do it, the age of empires is finally ending, perhaps this is the last victory for imperialism.
  21. I have a lot of guilty pleasures, first, is PAW Patrol, for a show that is by the numbers and repetitive, I still like the characters, not just because they are puppies, which are cute to me, but I do like their energy and distinct personalities, Marshall and Skye are my favourite, I wish they include Everest in more episodes though. Second, Christmas movies with reindeer as the leads, like Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer 1998, and Niko and the Way to the Stars, for it is quite uncommon for Christmas movies to focus on the reindeer, typically they focus on Santa, the elves or some curmudgeonly person, I do like it when the reindeer are characters, because it shows they have ambitions to join in a major holiday, like people do, even though they are pulling the sleigh, it is still are role for them to join in on. Third, Alpha and Omega, the first movie only, I hate the sequels, Kate and Humphrey are good wolf characters, not the most accurate wolf depiction, I am a canine biologist, and I work at a wolf sanctuary, so I know that is not the best wolf portrayal, however, I do like positive wolf characters, that are not the villains. Finally, the Lion Guard, this is a serious guilty pleasure, it has me divided in myself, there are somethings I don't like about the Lion Guard, but I do like Kion and Kiara, I watch it to see them, in additon Fuli, Ono, Beshte, and bunga, when ever he's not annoying, at least the writers have scaled back his annoyance with each episode, I also like the fact that background characters are included in the story too, it gives the Pride Lands more life, I just wish it was better, I wanted Kion to be Kiara and Kovu's first cub, that way it could continue the circle of life, to balance nostalgia with progress.
  22. Tolerant or disciplined? Bronies are much like the rest of the public, they do not know how to choose their battles, so they tend to fight things like cloppers, or even other bronies for having a different opinion about a character or episode. Bronies have different levels of tolerance, but weak discipline, given that all fandoms before this one have a risque side, like Star Trek, Star Wars and furries, you can not possibly expect to police all brony related content, or fans choices to watch that content, you do not need to see clopping art, you could just divert your attention. Bronies need more discipline, some of us can be puritanical, taking offence to suggestive imagery, and to those who create and look at it, if it does not harm you, then leave it alone, there is plenty of good pony content out there, so you have choices, good things happen to those with understanding.
  23. Perhaps with Queen Chrysalis freeing Tirek from Tartarus, where she offers him an opportunity to join forces, to get revenge on Princess Twilight Sparkle, for an ultimate showdown. Tirek decides to join Chrysalis, but he wants more power, so he finds a way to summon King Sombra, to create an alliance of the biggest villains Equestria has ever known. Their goal is conquest of Equestria, so they would have to battle Twilight and the mane seven, knowing that this axis possess a threat to Equestria, they forge their own alliance, of the best ponies Equestria has to offer, with Princess Celestia and Luna, the cutie mark crusaders, Spike, Discord, Princess Cadence and Shining Armour, the Wonderbolts, and maybe Zecora. After the first skirmish, the mane seven has to prepare Equestria for battle, to recruit new ponies and non ponies, muster the Royal Equestrian Armed Forces, in an ultimate test of friendship and magic, as the ponies have to adapt to wartime conditions, as this grave threat causes an atmosphere of fear and suspense, the premiere can have a set up like Avatar the Last Airbender or the Legend of Korra, as a group of friends have face off against this axis, it's ambitious, but I feel that season seven could be epic, but still have the slice of life, that give MLP it's identity.
  24. It's better to be obsessed with something you like, instead with someone else's obsession, especially if it is harmful and filled with malice. I love puppies and ponies, and this is coming from a veteran, it's a good feeling to not have aggression all the time, it's stressful, I am grateful for the ponies who gave me empathy again, for it was their cuteness that gave me happiness again, it's more than their appearance, but their attitude and speech that is cute too, there are worse obsessions out there; this is not one of them.
  25. Very wise, feminists have all ready achieve their means, but they did not know when to stop, now they want government authority, to exercise their will over others. If feminism is needed, it's in the middle east and much of Africa, where women have no rights nor representation, unfortunately, modern feminists are people with first world problems, who would rather have the public fix it, rather than the proud feminist herself.
