I love rain. Full thunderstorms are best (especially at night), but any rain is good. I love the feel of rain, the refreshing cool air before, and the smell during and after. I love the relaxing sound of falling rain and clear bolts of lightning shooting down from the sky (hence why night-time thunderstorms are best. It's not only the physical attributes, but also the idea of rain, of cleansing and new life, making it refreshing for mind, spirit and body. Powerful storms are invigorating, and gentle showers relaxing.

Petition to change Dawn Rider's display name
Frith is Magick replied to Adorkable's topic in Forum Lounge
This has my support, I vote yes. -
Inspired by Chrysalis' planning in A Canterlot Wedding (and by a quote in Firefly, naturally), I drew this: And as always, feedback/critiques welcome, thank you for stopping by.

Anyone else not like alcohol?
Frith is Magick replied to SolidTwilight's topic in General Discussion
Well first of all, not all beverages are create equal, so cheap stuff is pretty much certain to not taste as good. I like beer in general (lighter for sipping on a hot day, darker with food) and red wine with a nice meal, but I don't like the taste of hard alcohol unless it's mixed with something (vodka is great with sprite because it makes it not overwhelmingly sweet, whiskey does the same for root beer floats). In public I won't get more than mildly buzzed; I like to have my wits about me, but alone at home I'll go a little further, especially if it's been one of those days. I like the feeling of being slightly drunk, but I have been shitfaced, and even though I don't get hungover, it's still not worth it. -
Food Combination Suggestions
Frith is Magick replied to Ziggy + Angel + Rain's topic in General Discussion
Fries (preferable wedge-cut) with fresh squeezed lime (tartar sauce is also good on fries). Bacon and scrambled eggs with maple syrup. Kale mixed into mashed potatoes served with farmer's sausage (North American version f boerenkool). Jalapeno mixed into beef patties (great for homemade bacon cheese burgers). Chocolate sprinkle sandwich: butter a piece of bread, pour chocolate sprinkles on it, and fold it in half (substitute butter with peanut butter for more tasty results).- 80 replies

Inspired by the assertiveness rhymes taught to Fluttershy by Iron Will, a couple members of her fanclub decided to, with your help, yes you, carry forth this sacred tradition. Come, and post your assertive rhymes far any and all occasions. And remember, kids, Fluttershy says

It is hard to judge how "normal" society would respond for two reasons: first there are multiple different societies with different cultures, which would yield different reactions, and secondly, the reaction would depend on the rate of pink hair occurring. If pink hair happened in 15-20% of the population over a couple generations, it would likely be treated as any other hair colour, perhaps with a few jokes and stereotypes the same way there are blonde jokes. If it suddenly emerged or only occurred in a small fraction of the population, people would likely assume it to be dyed and act towards the person as they would towards anyone with an unusual, dyed colour. Young males would likely opt to dye it a different colour, especially when school aged, as well as people seeking professional careers where such a dye job would be frowned upon. My treatment on a pink-haired person would also depend on the commonality of the trait. If it is common and no different from any other hair colour or if I knew it to be natural, then I would treat the person normally. If it was a rare trait, I would assume it to be dyed (unless told otherwise), and while I might initially think of the other person as a bit weird (which isn't a bad thing at all), I wouldn't treat them differently for it.

mega thread Favourite Musicians or Band
Frith is Magick replied to Legit101's topic in Media Discussion
I'd have to say Omnia. Not only do I enjoy their music, which is fairly varied and usually pretty fun, but I also respect the band themselves and much of their message. Plus they're Dutch. Easiest/Hardest pony to draw? (Mane 6)
Frith is Magick replied to _Kurtis's topic in Photo Finish's Magics (Visual Art)
The most difficult to draw is rarity, hands down. As anyone else will say, her mane and tail are difficult. Applejacks hat is more challenging than it seems, but it is certainly no match for Rarity's hair. As for easiest, for me it is a toss up between Twilight sparkle and Fluttershy. I find Fluttershy easier to draw, but I also draw her more than the other 5. Objectively, I would have to say Twilight Sparkle because of how simple her mane and tail are. -
What is your ideal temperature range?
Frith is Magick replied to SkyDream's topic in General Discussion
For winter I prefer -25 to -40 degrees Celsius, and in summer the 15-20 Celsius range, though I prefer winter. -
With this sacrifice, we pray it is not too long before season 5 returns so we may once again bask in the glory of ponies the Hub logo.

As guilty as that deer is of animal abuse, I doubt any court would be able to take it seriously. If you were talking about the dudes messing with the deer, I doubt courts would sentence pigs either. All in all, the deer held it's own fairly well, and I'd call that a draw. For now.

Found this one and thought it would make a good desktop background. One of these days I should just remove the icons from my desktop instead of moving them around the image.

Did pegasi ever militarize lightning?
Frith is Magick replied to Invincible's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
They may have militarize lightning, but even if they did, I doubt they would have used it during the Three Tribes Era simply because such an attack would cause the other two tribes to counter, and likewise any other tribe could not use its ability to attack the others without it coming back to bite them (pretty much mutually assured destruction). I don't think the Pegasi ever did militarize it, or if they did the practice was forgotten long ago. The Pegasi response to Tirek was an aerial charge; if lightning was capable of being used as a weapon, I assume they would have used it, leading me to believe it was either never done or proven to be too weak. -

I wouldn't call that a problem; having more "sides" is better. It increases the odds of there being a stance you agree with and implies that in absence of a good option, people created a side instead of supporting the lesser of two evils. There is more to being politically active than voting. If you vote for the lesser of two evils, then lobby against any points you disagree with. Additionally you can start your own party. I don't know about the U.S. but in Canada we have multiple small (admittedly largely unknown) parties other than the 4 main ones. I've said this already, but it bears repeating: there is being on your own side and not supporting others out of personal conviction and being careful, then there is just being flat out apathetic and lazy. If you're the former, I'll debate with you for the sake of working together to seek a better answer, but it's the latter that contribute nothing, and ultimately the apathetic have no right to complain.
-
It depends on the type of neutrality. There is neutrality in the sense that you have your own stance on issues and sense of conviction, it just doesn't align with any "side" and avoids getting involved in conflicts. I respect that kind of neutrality because it demonstrates careful thinking rather than accepting a polar opinion and trying to justify it. There is also weak neutrality, not having any real beliefs or opinions, that is the type of neutrality that people don't like. As for conversion, there is a line between "I'm right, your wrong, you have to change" and debate for the sake of mutual learning and growth (arguing your own beliefs, but also accepting others). Some people (usually the more extreme ones) will legitimately want to change you while others are in it for the debate. To answer the original question, people may not like neutrals because it demonstrates a lack of conviction, especially if those people have strong/extreme convictions.

It depends on what it is. I will swat/kill mosquitoes, and for anything else that flies I will open a window and let it find its way out. Most insects I'll pick up on paper or trap and release outside, but not spiders, spiders are cute. I'll either let them crawl onto my hand and carry them outside (or just watch them for a minute before carrying on with my day) or just leave them alone. If I encountered a black widow I would kill it, but only because they pose an actual threat, but fortunately they don't live around here.

Here are a few that might be suitable: http://www.redbubble.com/people/zedrin/works/8855404-chaos http://www.redbubble.com/people/dfragrance/works/7777345-new-lunar-republic-eternal-night http://www.redbubble.com/people/dfragrance/works/7947211-nightmare-night http://www.redbubble.com/people/cptspas/works/9054594-octascratch This one even a few bronies might not get: http://www.redbubble.com/people/shila/works/8721077-magic-mov For a while I wanted a something Pony that only bronies would understand, then I quit giving a damn. The best part of being in university is that people generally have better things to do with their time if they don't like something than be arsewads about it (at least offline).

Modern military technology may be able to wipe out Titans, but when you think of it in terms of collateral damage and resources spent, a Titan attack would wreak havoc. There would also be a delay in response; tanks, helicopters, and all that other fun stuff won't just show up out of nowhere, plus there would be further delay as respondents need to learn the one weak point and cope with regeneration. All told, a Titan attack would cause significant damage and death, even if they are not directly responsible for it all.

What contests/giveaways have you won?
Frith is Magick replied to Zero Sonic's topic in General Discussion
When I first started my job, we were trying to raise money for a charity, and the cashiers were competing to see who could had the highest donations to orders ratio (to give part timers a fair shot). It went on for a month, with smaller weekly prizes as well. I won two of the weekly prize (free Starbucks coffee) and the final prize (free deli lunch and a silly certificate). I haven't really won anything else; damn my sister for getting all of the talent. -
Pegasister girlfriend or Brony Boyfriend
Frith is Magick replied to Codelyy's topic in Sugarcube Corner
I don't really if a potential girlfriend isn't a pegasister. While fandom is a point of common interest and a good way to meet people, it isn't an important criteria point for building a relationship. All that really matters is that she doesn't care that I'm a brony, but then again, being judgmental of each other's interest isn't great for a relationship anyway (this stuff is so much easier in theory).
