  1. After so much web searching I found a response that gave me chills when I read it and strangely a sense of closure: The full article is here: http://jonnysopiumden.wordpress.com/2011/12/21/bronies/ In short: the target base, children making their first friends, are not much different from the young adult base in their quest to adapt to new situations.
  2. I think "freedom" in the way we know it is defined by your social group. You can do what you want but only if there is no harm or breaking of social rules. In my opinion we gave away "true freedom" for security. "True freedom" in my book is the possibility to do everything that is possible that is in your power: help someone, maim, comfort, kill, be nice, etc. But for living in a group you can not have it, you must be limited by rules and customs. For me you can have "true freedom" whenever and wherever you want but you must accept the consequences of your actions.
  3. "The last unicorn" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TdsmqwCRoM8 It is strange how I remember that movie. Specially King Haggard and his son.
  4. I played 1, 2 on the Xbox, and 4 in the wii. Seriously One of the best series of games I have ever played. My favorite was "the blind ghost" from the First Game, it always kept me on my toes. And yep, we need more ponified Fatal Frame!
  5. The proof is right in front of us 42
  6. Panzer Dragoon Saga. A saturn game where the customization of the dragon was king.
  7. BronyNet has ~22,000 members, Ponysquare ~10,000. According to this http://siteanalytics.compete.com/equestriadaily.com/?metric=uv, Equestria daily has ~86,000 unique visitors per month. We could think about many pony communities coexisting, but my guess is there is overlapping. For this reason my guess the size of the brony community in 2012 is ~50,000. Where brony is someone who participates in a website related to FIM. But if brony is someone who has watched FIM and likes it, the number could be higher. I think for everybrony there are 10 persons who watches and likes the show in the same demographic. So ~500,000.
  8. It sound silly but it paints a smile on my face (and the occasional tear). For some strange reason it makes you care about the characters.
  9. Sorry for reviving an old thread. The show is rife with contradictions that make it great: Characters are simple on the surface but have more substance than other shows aimed to the target audience. Clichés are used liberally but with great care to enhance the show. Design of the characters is simple, elegant and filled with details where matters the most: facial expressions. However the best part of all is a message of positivity that is almost absent in other media: We can get along with each other and that makes your life better. That message is explored in many ways for example:other people can teach you ways of coping with life. life is not always what you expect but friends and family make it worthwhile. share the blessings that you have. In short it is a simple show on the surface with deep explorations of setting and character with a positive moral core, or "it is simple pony who does the difficult and good things right"
  10. Rainbow Dash. The greek aspects of her dress were for me the most original part of the dresses.
