      Get rid of Chrome OS if you can (back it up first so you can restore it if it's the school's computer), and replace it with another Linux distro.

      Then you have an Intel CPU. But I need the specific socket-number. Is it LGA 1155 or 1150? (sorry, but I have to be technical)

      Here's what you do. See if you can find the name of your motherboard on the motherboard itself (it would be something like "ASRock H61M-VG3" or "Asus P8Z77-V LX")
